Friendly staff and clean rooms.
Some of the rooms have been renovated and are large with modern bathrooms. However, some are small with stained carpets and tiny bathrooms. If you are unlucky enough to get one of the latter, I doubt that you will be happy. Also, the rooms on the front of the building are noisy as the hotel fronts on a busy street. Breakfast was basic, and the breakfast room is very cramped. When we returned to Athens the following week, we chose not to stay at the Minoa again.
The hotel is not located at the prime tourism spot, but if you can get used to the metro lines then it's the hotel gives you great value for money. It's only 4 stations from acropolis and takes around 15 minutes. Staffs were pretty helpful.
The breakfast operation is handled by a single staff, so it sometimes gets messy in rush hour.
All amenities like hairdryer, tv, wifi, that i needed were in place
The reception area although quite huge, wasnt kept properly. The furniture was old and unkempt. Doesnt give a good feeling when u enter a hotel
Basic hotel close to metro, with friendly enough staff. Beds, room and bathroom all fine and functional.
Having to ask every night for them to turn on aircon - it's included, so don't make me beg... The location is on a busy street in what must be a dodgy area as a number of staff warned about thieves. It is not a quick walk to the Acroplis or other tourist sites (including the wonderful archaeological museum) unless you are a walking fanatic. And walking around and looking for a resaurant it lacked the charm of the area we'd stayed at the week before around Syntagma square. While there's not anything particularly bad about the Minoa, there are much better places to stay in Athens on a similar budget.
Good value for money, near one of central squares, good wi-fi
Noisy as the windows face street
Very polite and caring staff Cleaned rooms and sheets
Extremely small shower tab The breakfast area lack of staff at peak time Breakfast should not be the same everyday
The staff is amazing
beautiful hotel, great friendly staff and super location!!! perdect:)
no real doors onthe bathroom
quality price /services
If the window of your room are on Karolu street, it will be difficult to sleep with the window opened , cause of the noise of traffic till late in the night .
Rooms clean, afternoon reception lady excellent. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. Gave us good tips on where to visit. Taxi driver coming in from the airport spoke very good English and gave us good advice. Acropolis and all other major sightseeing areas within walking distance.
Toilet in the bathroom too close to bath. Need some salads at breakfast
Proximity to many things. Staff were helpful and very pleasant.
- Great Staff - Good location - very close to metro
- The Air Conditioning was very weak - It was too hot in the room and would not cool. (I was on the 5th floor, maybe cooler on lower floors) - The shower was tiny, in corner of bathroom, entire bathroom got flooded every time I showered.
Free Wifi Staff friendly and polite
Dirty Small Breakfast Coffee was cold Eggs were uncooked Room stank of cigarettes Horrible Area Dirty Towels Open electric sockets
Please add slippers for each room
The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel is very very close to the subway station making it easy and cheap to visit the city. The room was good enough, I liked the fact that it was very clean. The wifi is top notch.
Thr breakfast was basic. But in athens there is no real reason to eat breakfast at the hotel. There is food everywhere with excellent quality and really cheap.
We stayed for only one night, having booked based on previous reviews. We had a family room on the 4th floor, number 41-42. The room was dirty, furniture old and rusty and the size of the two bedrooms including the bath was less than 20sqm. I do not consider this to be a hotel, irrespective of the fact that it is advertised a 3 stars, better call it a hostel not even 1 star. Breakfast is awful as well, cleanness and food quality non existent. A definite NO on all accounts
I found the staff at this hotel extremely helpful and friendly. They were always willing to give advice on how to get to places and what to do. They always greeted me with a smile and went out of their way to be helpful. It was great value for money and was very close to the metro.
Great price, close to metro and acropolis (ish)
As is the case with much of Athens, not the cleanest or most hospitable of locations.
Very lovely and helpful staff. Clean and big room with comfortable bed. Nice breakfast.
This will depend on the room you have I guess - but I found the lighting outside (the street and the hotel signage) very bright and the curtains thin so was very light in the room when trying to sleep.
Hotel itself, staff, amenities. Walking distance to Acropolis and major attractions.
Area has grafitti covered buildings, empty storefronts, and a shortage of restaurants in the immediate area.
Great Hotel in central Athens ! Good location for sightseeing... Special Thanks to Valentina for all the advice !
Breakfast girl could have done with some help !
Staff were very attentive and helpful. Accommodation was as good as one pays for
