I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Kalampaka at the Monastiri Guesthouse. Spiros and Dita are excellent hosts. They are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. There was an excellent choice for breakfast in the morning. If I was in the area again I would certainly stay there again or at their Taverna which is slightly closer to the mountains.

Lovely property ! Dita was a very gracious and helpful host. The guest house was wonderful ! However, the restaurant that is owned by the family (not at the guesthouse) was very disappointing. The selection of food, the quality of the food and the portions (very small) were very poor. It was not good value or your money either. I would recommend the guest house in a heart beat to anyone. Although, I would not recommend that they eat at the restaurant that is owned by the family.

The staff was very friendly, and actually chatted with us, wanted to know about us, but were no intrusive. They went out of the way to be sure all was well. The view amazing, and so quiet. The whole inn was pretty and homey. The "shower" was a european style, and I am not sure how those are supposed to work! I am afraid I got water everywhere! But water pressure was good, plenty of hot water, so the problem was with me, not the hotel!

The traditional decoration of the rooms was fantastic, as well as the everyday cleaning servives. The extra charge of the fireplace was too much per night and it was not mentioned in the hotel's site. The breakfast could be more traditional.

Just one can miss some specific furniture in the room, like a table where one can write or work, or a bigger place to let your clothes or hang them.

This is a lovely quest house that makes you feel you have left city life and can enjoy the quiet country. The design of the guest house and our room were beautiful. From the look of all the other hotels in the area this was by far the best choice! The staff are lovely too.

We stayed in a triple with an extra baby cot, and the room was great for our family. It was clean and ready for us when we got there-- perfect since our kids were needing to take a nap! The breakfast was simple, but adequate (boiled eggs, toast, yogurt, breads, coffee, juices), the owners helpful, and the view incredible. Our favorite part was the big yard in the back where the kids could play while we had a great view of Meteora.

The staff were very gracious, warm and accomodating on a recent stay at the hotel. Service was very personal. The decor in the lobby and the bedroom was very nice. There was a nice area downstairs to sit, read, have a drink etc. It was also nice to have a balcony, even though mine didn't face the mountains. There was a lovely soaker tub so after long days of walking / climbing stairs to see the monasteries it was nice to come back and have a soak. There was a good variety of food for breakfasts. Lots of little personal touches by the staff. I would definitely stay here again. It was a little difficult to find initially, but after I had wandered around a bit it was easy to get back to.

This place would be perfect if you take a train to Kalampaka as it's quite close to the train station. And it's about 5 min walk to the town center. The hostess was so nice. She gave us a map and explained everything upon our arrival, and helped to take our luggage to the second floor. The room is cozy and the breakfast is great, with bread, cereal, eggs, yogurt, coffee, juice, and fresh baked pies. We stayed for 2 nights and loved it. Would recommend this place to our friends. Not sure whether it's a Greek tradition that there is no shower curtain in the bathroom. We were a little worried that the bathroom might get quite wet, but it turned out to be all right.

The owner is very helpful and staying in Monastiri is like staying in your own home. Dita and Spiro (sorry if I spelled our owners' name wrong) take great care of us and provide the best advise and arrangement for our comfort like a family. Thank you so much for your care! 1) A firmer double bed will be great - just like the lounge bed. 2) more light in the bathroom required especially for makeup for the ladies; and 3) maybe change the showerhead as currently the shower sprinkler is small and when we remove the showerhead, the waterflow is perfect. So, not a problem with the water pressure. Although sometimes, the water temperature can be a little inconsistent. Likely due to more users at the same time. But all this do not stop me from giving good credit to Monastiri for the great place to stay in Kalambaka.

Our room had a view of the Meteora from the sizable balcony and it was wonderful. The lobby/dining area felt like home where you could pop yourself up on a stool and make yourself a cup of tea or coffee to relax after an outing. You also can meet other guests there to get some tip or just to chat up on things. The best part of this place is the home feel of the place. The only downside staying at the guesthouse was the lighting in the hallway and the bathroom. I tripped twice in the hallway because the lighting was so dim and that they only turn on when there was some movement. I appreciate conserving energy, maybe some nightlights at the beginning of the stairs would help some. There was no light at the sink in the room we stayed. I couldn't even tell if I placed the contact lenses inside the container after I removed them. It was just too dark.

A sophisticatedly designed hotel with a loveing home atmosphere! When i checked in, a owener explained me about how to access Meteora, opening time of the monestries, etc. with a well-organized, hand-written map. This information was very useful for me to make a sightseeing plan around Meteora area. I took a breakfast at a terrace just besides my room with seeing a fantastic view of Meteora rocks!! The taste of the breakfast was good. Especially I love a home-made cheese pie, a traditional greek cuisine!

Everything was above expectations. A very-very friendly hotel owner, she is great, her advices regarding the town were really helpful. A small beautiful hotel, family-driven, it looks even better then on its pictures. Large room, large balcony, large bathroom and a fantastic view. A very stylish place, every detail fits another and it is not a standard faceless style, it is done with love and care. After all these wonders the price is a very comfortable for the hotel of this level. I will recommend the hotel for all friends of mine that would ever go to Meteora.

The view from all rooms is fantastic, owner (is the staff) was great and very helpful. The rooms are large and comfortably appointed. It is within walking distance to main area of township, but far enough away to be very quiet. Good value for money.
