Nena is a sweetie, and makes you feel very much at home. We loved the decor which was Greek style and even had a fireplace in our room. Her breakfasts are fantastic and she takes a lot of trouble over everything. She is also very knowledgeable about everything and lent us some maps. Cant think of anything!

The general atmosphere was really warm and homely, very much due to hostess Nena. She has a lovely warm personality! She picked us up at the town centre so we wouldn't get lost, then welcomed us into her old family home that was converted into hotel. In the communal kitchen/breakfast room, we were introduced to the other guests, a German couple. This was really nice, in other hotels you don't get to know your fellow hotel guests. Highpoint was definitely the organic breakfast, which Nena makes in the kitchen/breakfast room. There was fresh coffee, local honey, lovely homemade jams, and homemade bread (!!). My boyfriend is lactose-intolerant and Nena made especially for him a local speciality, from a recipe her grandmother gave her I would definitely like to recommend this for people who like to interact with others on their holiday. Stemnitsa is a small village with not much to do so perfect for a one-night sleepover Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Mpelliko is a fabulous guest house. Views from the kitchen, room and garden are spectacular. Nena is an excellent host, taking care of her guests' personal needs. She serves the best breakfast with local products (homemade bread, marmelades...). Our room was wonderfull, very clean and confortable, with spacious toilets.

We had a wonderful time at Mpelleiko! The Inn is on a small road that overlooks the pretty little village of Stemnitsa, giving unparalleled views across the small valley. Our hostess was kind and attentive, with excellent suggestions for activities in the Lousios ravine region. Our room was attractive and comfortable. We had a small terrace to enjoy the rambling roses nearby. Breakfasts were home-made and delicious, using local fresh produce. The result was a superb addition to our trip in the Peloponnese.

Absolutely everything about Mpelleiko was perfect. We drove for about 2 hours from Olympia along beautiful mountain roads to the village of Stemnitsa where our host Nina met us to show the way to her house above the village. Our beautifully and traditionally furnished room was even better than the photos Nina had sent us when we chose which room we would like and the views from our balcony and terrace were of a tiny village and mountains The most amazing thing about this village when we were there in June was the silence, it was rare for a car to pass through the village and there was no noise from any traffic or trains, we became aware of the sound of a bee going by, .... We both slept so soundly after a meal in the village square and a piece of Baclava from a tiny village bakery We woke to hear Nina preparing our feta ommlette, greek coffee and a selection of homemade jams with homemade bread, greek yogurt and fruit Sadly we had only booked one night and left wishing we had longer here, we did explore the Gorge and monastery before we went, helped by excellent directions from Nina. Perfect location and fantastic host, I really hope we will return

This place is worth making a trip to visit on its own! We stayed at the Mpelleiko one night during a 13-day trip through the Peloponnese; I wish we had stayed more than one night! The house itself is a family home that was recently rebuilt to create five guest rooms with private bathrooms. Unlike many renovations, the owner kept a traditional style that feels more like a home than a hotel. Nena, the owner/operator, made us feel instantly like we were visiting a close friend. She seemed to be everywhere we went in the town of Stemnitsa, usually doing something to help us, or any other travelers who needed assistance. When we got our car stuck trying to turn around on a narrow mountain road, a crisis was averted with a phone call to Nena. She woke up a family friend who had a truck (it was a Sunday and we were far from any "roadside assistance") and came to our rescue!

The owner seems to be not mentally ok. She asked us to wait in the neighboring village by mistake. So we wasted time till sunset, and then had to drive the narrow mountain road in absolute blackness. My wife was frightened to death. The hotel appeared to be not village style but really old village house, with really old furniture. The room had hard smell of smoke from fire place. In the bathroom there was scorpion on the wall. The whole the vacation was spoiled at once.

This is one of the best places I've ever stayed. Nena is outstanding: she goes everything she can to help guests. She has fantastic knowledge of the area and provides maps and suggestions for walks, photos, historical sites, etc. Breakfast is superb: she and her mother make fresh yoghurt, jams, breads, and pies. She went hiking to gather wild asparagus and made wonderful sheep milk yoghurt one day. I really can't say enough about this gem of a guesthouse. If you stay there, you'll remember the location (a spectacular view over the town and mountains), the food, and the proprietor.
