I would like to point out, we normally go for budget accommodation so Mykonos Beach felt quite extravagant. If its the kind of place you normally book then you may feel differently about it than we did. The only reason I booked it was because it promised a balcony and seaview. On arrival we were booked in and given a ground floor room right by reception and if there was a window I couldn't see it - dark and a bit dingy. I complained and showed my confirmation that I had paid for a seaview and balcony. The guy on reception said he needed to check the computer. He took one glance at whatever screen was already on there and picked up a different set of keys. The room we were then given was incredible but it really annoyed me that they clearly tried to fob us off with a room inferior to the one we had paid for. But fine, they corrected the mistake and the balcony made the last 2 nights of our holiday. It was made up for by the facilities - so just make sure you get what you've paid for! The other disadvantage of staying here is not the fault of the hotel - it is the location. While the view's fantastic, the walk into Mykonos Town at night is quite scary. You have to walk up the road where all the rental bike shops are. There are no pavements or lights so you often can't avoid being in the road. Mix that with drunken idiots on bikes and it's not always a nice experience. If you already like Mykonos you'll be aware of this and no doubt, it's no worse than any where else around the town but it really did put us off. As I said - we're probably not the usual clientele!
We stayed at Mykonos Beach for the last 2 nights of a 2 week island hopping holiday, after going for budget-friendly places the rest of the holiday, we decided to treat ourselves to a bit of 'luxury', knowing Mykonos isn't particularly 'budget-friendly'! The (second) room we were given was fabulous - the view over the sea absolutely spectacular, with a large balcony which was perfect for pre (and post!) dinner drinks. The room was nice and spacious and the bathroom top class, with really nice complimentary toiletries - best shower I've ever used in Greece! It was clean and quiet at night, being a 10 minute walk into town. We loved that it was right on the beach, which is really quite nice and overlooked by most tourists so really quiet too. For anyone who doesn't like sand between their toes there's also an infinity pool. We took advantage of the free transfers, which was a great help as we came from the port - saving us getting a taxi boat to Mykonos Town and then having to navigate our way to the hotel. The driver who picked us up was great! Kind enough to wait for our late ferry and chatty when taking us to the airport. Breakfast was really nice too, lots to choose from and all tasty.
