Hotel Staff were excellent and the location could not have been better It is a bit tricky to cross the road in front of the hotel. The area gets shady after dark but nothing serious if you are alert

24 hour reception Was told on hotel description that it was within walking distance of arcopolis...barely!! Furthermore it failed to mention it was in the most rundown area of Athens riddled with prostitutes and drug addicts and no place for a female solo traveller...I was actually too frightened to leave my room after dark! The room was absolutely freezing at night, "views" from the balcony were appaling and the rooms were in poor condition. do not stay in this hotel/area (metaxigeyu)...stay in plaka which is far more pleasant, safe, clean, pedestrianised and actually close to the acropolis!

Its price is really low, and it is 3 minutes from the metro station. Two peaple staying there might be cheaper than staying in an 8 room hostel dorm. Not a nice neighborhood, old fashioned design.

The staff was really friendly, and always happy to help. My room had a view of the Acropolis (but most rooms don't). The price was definitely worth it. The location was kinda good since it was near the metro, and there were quiet a few decent cheap places to eat. A lot of reviews will knock the neighborhood, but it's the same problems in most of Athens outside the few ritzy areas. The bathroom was way too small for me. The toilet seat was cheap plastic, and felt on the urge of breaking (I'm around 220lbs). The shower seemed to leak all over the floor no matter what, and there seemed to be mold in the bathroom floor because of it. Rooms not really sound proof so it might be a bit loud if it was more busy.

Basic budget hotel in Athens. Breakfast across the street was ok, but not spectacular. Hard beds, small showers in rooms, noisey old building, smells of cigarette smoke.

The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The hotel had a large balcony for us to enjoy. We were also glad that although our hotel was close to many of the sights and all public transportation we were not near the demonstrations and riots We could only find one actual restaurant (not just a cafe/bar) at a good price within walking distance of the hotel. Not sure if they didn't exist or didn't open till much later than when we needed to eat.

The location is good - close to a metro station and not that far away from main attractions. The last day the public transportation wasn't workin (due to a strike) but we still managed to see many things without using a taxi. The breakfast is also very good. The main issue was the noise - the pipes are old and produce noise whenever somebody is using the toilet. One of the receptionist talked on the phone and had discussions with a friend until late at night and we could hear him very wel because we were on the first floor. I guess that the last floor will be better.

The hotel is conveniently located, just a short walk to one of the central metro stations Metaxourghio. The stuff was nice - they made sure we were in the airport on time (our plane left in the middle of the night). The room was clean and the decor was nice. There was free wi-fi and ac. The balcony was very small and the view from it... Well, there was total absence of any view. It faced a grey concrete wall, there was nothing else you could see. But it had an upside too! Because of the wall right in front of our balcony the sunlight was completely blocked and the room felt pleasantly cool in spite of the heat of 36 degrees outdoors.

“Every step I met in there was just like a big family! I love them all ;) What a lovely greek hospitality! Some people might say the place is not very good and dangerous, but hey it's not that bad! ( I also stayed near omonia square, little suspicious though, it's interesting just watching! haha) I love greece so much even I couldn't properly use public transportation when I need! If I could visit Athen again ( definitely will do!) I will choose this hotel again!” Sui, Seoul |
