Perfect friendly-family run property with very helpful and lovely staff. We can only recommend this place to other families. It's just a great and unforgettable hideaway
The jewel in the Crown for Naxos - recommended by a friend who came last year, the hotel lived up to its reputation - everything was "not a problem" - the villa concept is a great alternative to the usual luxury hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were the best of all our island stays, the welcome made you feel "at home" with great recommendations to see and visit around the island - Ioannis was the perfect host with invitations to wine tasting to the lamb roasted on a spit - it was all too idyllic - just like Naxos!!!
Willingness to help and easy going style grounds.the shared pool was clean and well maintained compare to some other places.
Very limited breakfast options not a menu that we were aware!!! Actually disappointed although didn't matter to us. So much of the food in the morning went wasted as most of it was not eaten!!! Hired the car from their recomodation and especially for beginning of September it was very very expensive! Three days later in Paros almost half the price with the hotel assistance. Understanding the language I'm sure they did not assist to a better offer for their guests!!
The two storey villa (villa 9 by the olive trees) was spacious and private with its own clean and gorgeous pool. It was spotless with excellent daily cleaning service. Sunrise and sunset! The food in the restaurant is good. Our 700g steak dinner was superb. Extensive selection of DVD's available. Hosts and staff are friendly and helpful with recommendations and directions. Overall it was great for us and as a family of 5 justified the additional cost - better than hotel rooms.
Main room bed inadequate - needs to be upgraded. Spa bath not operating. Nothing else.
The property is idyllic. Reading previous reviews, indeed you don't find the facilities of other luxury hotels. But if you visit a Greek island in the summer and you expect to spend your time for spa and massage, then clearly you are in the wrong destination. It would be better to visit the best 5star hotel of your city and save yourself the costs. Amazing to have a private or semi private pool for your breakfast and enjoy the peaceful environment, but at the same time just 5mins driving from the very busy Chora or 10mins walking from the sandy beaches of Ag.Prokopis. By the way, our suite did have steaming room and sauna.
It was not a problem for us, but in case you decide to stay in there is nothing to eat after the kitchen is closing. In my opinion, 10:30pm Saturday night is early. Then you have to drive or get a taxi.
This is one of the best resorts I've ever stayed at and I've stayed at many. True luxury. The family that runs the resort went out of thier way to make us fell welcome. We were even upgraded to a large family villa with a private pool. Breakfasts were also outstanding with many kind of Greek pies. The location is good - a few minutes from the main city - but it's best to rent a car and exlore the island. Fantastic beaches in Naxos as well. I think we will be back.
We exhausted the resort's restaurant recommendations after three days but there are plenty of other options - tavernas etc.
The staff was incredible. The facilities were also incredible. This is one of those 'don't miss this' places you have to visit. I just can't offer enough accolades regarding our stay. Highly recommended.
None. If I could give them a higher rating, I would. Definite 10.
Most people easily understand the term ‘wonderful’. Without hesitation, and as a first time reviewer of any hotel, restaurant, destination, etc.… I can only convey that in this case ‘wonderful’ does not adequately capture the essence of a stay at the Naxian Collection property in Naxos, Greece. What this small family-owned & operated boutique property lacks is solely the cachet associated with the prestige brands like the Four Seasons, Orient Express, Shangri-La, & Mandarin Oriental properties, all of which I frequent to most destinations, but that are, in my humble opinion, an equal to the experience associated at staying at the Naxian Collection. That one is warmly treated as a relative throughout the stay is, at times, a sentiment that many travelers may not fully embrace because, after all, when traveling to a vacation destination, one presumably wants to get away from work and familial obligations and just simply relax. But I confess that the Margaritis family made me feel, as I wanted to spend even more time with them at the property, as their hospitality is truly a rewarding experience. From the welcoming at check-in to the invitations to partake in a feast attended by other guests and friends of the owners, I can’t stress enough how much the personal, sincere attention provided by the owners and staff overwhelmingly impacts the holiday experience. As a write this, I’m already conjuring plans for my next visit. As previously indicated, this is my first review ever although I had previously stayed at the Naxian Collection two years ago and, admittingly, I opted to just keep my first experience to myself; a little gem which I would only share with my closest and dearest in a way, perhaps, to selfishly keep my initial and equally wonderful stay at the property to the select, privileged few.
