The hotel is a beautiful, quiet and well run establishment with a very friendly staff. In fact, once we had left, one of the staff thouht we had left a back behind. She ran the 15min down to the port to give it to us because she knew we were leaving on a ferry in a few minutes. Turns out it wasn't our bag, but we were so impressed by the kindness and the effort. Please do stay with them. The rooms are normal Greel island size, which means a it small for American perspectives and the hotel is farther away than you might first think. But it does make for a great view and quiet nights.

Beautiful view and nicely designed rooms. Nice compound. Very slow reception - coming there was like coming to someone's private kitchen. The lady in charge was asleep when we arrived why noone opened at first. The ad didn't mention how high up in Hydra city the hotel was located. This should have been emphasized and help to carry luggage should have been included in the price (like in a hotel in Poros where we also stayed). Moreover, expensive considering the minimal amount of service given and the size of the room. Things left from previous guests in the fridge and half empty bottles of shower cream in the bathroom that also was very small. We also had a problem with cancelling. The agreement between us and Booking.com did not include all of the details necessary to understand how the cancelling system worked. Moreover, we were not told directly when we came and said that we wanted to cancel that this was not possible. There was an impression of ignorance of staff about the details and no will was shown to make the situation clear to us straight away.

It should be mentioned that distance from the port is definitely not ten minutes when going uphill but rather a full 15 to 20 minutes. Of course a traveller that choses to go to Hydra knows that there are no cars but it turned out that the specific hotel (which is more of a bed and breakfast facility) is the one located the farthest from the port. Breakfast was decent as was the room. But with 85 euros per night one can find much better options on the island. It definitely needs something, that could be a better breakfast or a more clean shower curtain even, that would make it stand out as compared to other similar facilities on the island. The lady in charge was very nice but is one person enough to cover the needs of the customers? This included breakfast, meeting us at the port, running the reception area etc.

Beautiful spot with lovely views. The rooms are simple but comfortable and the breakfast is good . Lovely terrace with views for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful (Helen especially went out of her way to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable). We were met at the ferry and given help with the luggage at 10:30 at night - essential (see below) Not a problem for us but the climb to the hotel is long and steep so not good for the unfit.

Loved Hydra -beautiful place. The staff at Nefeli were wonderful...it felt like we were staying at a friend's home. Quaint location -authentically Greek neighborhood. Very clean and nicely appointed room. Attention to detail throughout the property. They obviously "care". The breakfast was one of the best meals we had in all of Greece! Fresh yogurt with honey and walnuts, mini spanakopita and cheese pies, fresh juice...all delicious. The walk up the steep steps and hills was challenging...guests of this hotel need to be in good physical condition! We could hear the people in the room next door, coughing and talking. The walls are heavy concrete, but the raised roof between the rooms was not well-insulated and I think that caused the noisy-ness.

The owners are great! Hotel accommodations are quite comfortable and the view is wonderful. Wished we could have stayed for more than one night. A journey of more than 300 steps till reaching there, but the hotel really pays off!

The staff, wonderful patios, views and location cannot be beat. Though the room was small, not much space for luggage, and shower typical for Greece, we had fantastic upper floor outside shaded patio table and chairs at our room overlooking the entire town and both harbors. The common area breakfast patio delightful with flowers in bloom and lemon trees. The staff were fabulous, helping with food and hike recommendations, and overall pleasant to chat with in the afternoons to learn more about the town and Greece current financial and political culture. Felt like visiting an old friend, can't imagine staying anyplace else next time in Hydra. It is quite an uphill hike from the harbor if you can't handle stairs this is not the place for you. Highly recommend you let them book George with his donkey to meet at the ferry to carry you luggage. Otherwise, this is a perfect piece of paradise on Hydra.

I was positively amazed by the warmness and friendliness of the staff and owners. Our every request was immediately met and left nothing wanting. The location is also amazing; you can sit on one of the many garden furniture and eat your buffet breakfast in the morning or have a relaxing drink in the afternoon while admiring the splendid view of the island and sea. The room was decorated in typical greek island style and the toilet was very ergonomic. The furniture were of very good quality and the appliances were quite new. Overall it was one of my best weekend experiences. The location can be prohibiting for people with health problems, because of the many stairs needed to climb, in order to reach the hotel. But as I have already mentioned, the view because of the altitude is quite rewarding. You can also use donkey taxi if you think you can't walk there by yourself.

Ambiente molto piacevole e curato. Personale gentile e molto disponibile. Massima pulizia. Silenzioso.

The very friendly and helpful staff, the nice breakfast, the perfect nature and general state of the island, the comfortable bed, the shower, the views from the common terrace, the details as the bottle of water, or the extra towels. I think we got the only room in the hotel, number 1 that is not absolutely fabulous; it has no views at all, and no soundproofing, you can hear everyone, all the time, as if they were with you, and I guess everybody could also hear you. It does not have any privacy in that sense. If the room has had views and soundproofing, this would have been probably the best review ever, but I wouldn't recommend room 1.
