A short walk from the Acropolis, 5-star Royal Olympic Hotel is centrally located near the picturesque Plaka neighborhood. The luxurious rooms overlook Zeus’s Temple, or the swimming pool garden.
Score from 2182 reviews Very good
Centrally located in Syntagma Square in Athens, the Amalia Hotel is right across from the National Gardens. It features comfortable rooms with satellite and pay-per-view TV, and Wi-Fi internet access....
Score from 1818 reviews Excellent
The 5-star Sofitel Athens is conveniently located 165 ft from Athens International Airport. It has 2 gourmet restaurants, a spa and an indoor heated pool with views of the airport.
Score from 2441 reviews Excellent
In one of the most central locations in Athens, the Electra Hotel Athens is next to Syntagma Square. A 5-minute walk through charming Plaka takes you to the Acropolis.
Score from 591 reviews Very good
Location and excellent customer service.
Very good all round facilities. Very central to all areas. Quiet in rooms despite being in a high traffic zone. Staff very helpful.
Quite costly - to be expected I suppose for a top quality hotel. However.... - Corridors are a bit dark and dismal compared to the rooms and common areas in the lobby. - I would have expected free wifi/ internet in rooms for this price. Free, but very slow wifi, is available in the lobby only. - Unless you are a big eater the breakfast is quite expensive for a normal person. Cafes around the square offer much cheaper deals.
Location is very good as it is near Plaka and the Acropolis. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Location ,comfort ,good value for money
Everyting was just right
Location is excellent.
Staff barely correct. Facilities dated especially supplies like hairdryer. No kettle in room. No iron/board in room. No free internet in room. Generally overpriced for what provided. Cost of breakfast ridiculous.
at the hotel description its says that they have shower to some rooms which they actual mean that they have shower telephone in the bath . Also the were doing some renovations and they gave us room with constraction tower outside which they start removing it at 6 o'clock in the morning on sunday . As i already raid the staff poor , i want to mention that is rude to talk hear the headstaff at the breakfast say to the waitress come on baby with a rude greek way .
In spite of double glazing, there is still noise from traffic.
Location is the best Staff tried to help and done well Everything around you because of the perfect location
Not that big lobby if you consider its a 5 stars Small elevator Equipment in the room not the best
Loved the location. In the cinter of Athens. Next to most attraction.
Location is perfect
Food in the restaurant was crazy expensive Better eat in the nearby cafes which is several times cheaper and very good quality
Ii liked the location and the lobby was beautiful.
-The bed was extremely uncomfortable. -When someone would flush the toilet (I'm assuming the room above us) we could hear the water through the pipes. It was pretty loud and woke me up while I slept. - while walking around our room it sounded like there was plastic under the carpet. You can hear it with every step you take.
Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and value for money.
Friendly staff Prime location comfortable room/ furnishings
You have to pay for in-room wifi.... but it is hopeless. It comes & goes & is extremely frustrating. It should therefore be offered as complimentary
The check out receptionist Sofia who was very polite abs helpful.
Definitely not a five star hotel by far - a glorified four star if that - no tea making facilities, no bottle of water provided, very fuzzy TV with no satellite /English TV channels, the bathroom looked old and tired. The check in staff were very rude and not the service one would expect from a five star hotel at all. Not good value for money at all.
1.hotel location is good, you can see parliament fromt the balcony; easy access to metro station and walking distance to plaka, ermou street 2. hotel room is quite big, newly renovated
1. there is no water provided in the room, one small bottle costs 3.5 euro
Free wifi in room
We weren't advised of scaffolding and work going on around our balcony prior to our visit. It may have made a difference to whether we stayed or not. No roof terrace or view of acropolis.
no big deal
The hotel location is the best, very accessible to many restaurants and shopping, and the subway too. The reception staff, Maria is superb, very friendly, very helpful and very efficient.
The restaurant staff at the lounge café are not trained well to provide 5-star service, not attentive and impolite. In addition, the hotel is going through a renovation and hence there was the noise, and the water was terminated during my shower and thereafter the water was really dirty after the few hours disruption. The hair dryer in the room has to be replaced and the wi-fi is also not working well in the room. For a 5-star hotel, you need to request for toothbrush and there is no gym and pool.
Wonderful location, just across the street from Syntagma square, and nearby high-end shopping and restaurants. Parliament building is diagonal from the hotel, where impressive changing of the guard occurs round-the-clock. Consulates from numerous countries, nestled among impressive architecture and outstanding museums, can be a great walk and a day or two well invested. And I must not forget the location of our wonderful room, with an unobstructed view of the parthenon. We got out of bed several times at night to take in the illuminated ruins, seemingly floating in the sky. Hotel staff is attentive, and eager to please. I would recommend NJV, and plan to stay again. Finally, plan on breakfast at nearby Focaccino. We went twice, enjoying first-rate espresso, orange juice squeezed on order, and varied eggs, b'fast sandwiches, varied meats and pastries, all while watching the 'people traffic' on the sidewalk and adjacent Syntagma metro station. Menu and signage are mostly in Greek, but owners help you figure it out. Great, and surprising, cultural experience for a foreign visitor! We had heard some negative comments prior to arrival (e.g. the city is dirty and noisy),but it's a big city after all. The people of Athens and its rich history will sweep you away, particularly if you're inclined to avoid the usual tourist palettes and strike out on your own. The true essence of Athens lies quietly quietly beneath a facade of obnoxious tourists more interested in 'selfies' and rude behaviour. Ignore these inevitable 'thorns in the side' of the vacation world, and you'll have an unforgettable experience! We loved NJV Athens Plaza and its surrounding city.
Complimentary transfers to/from airport would be an appreciated amenity. One is forced to take a taxi or other means of transportation. The hotel staff, however in providing detailed options and prices.
Nice beds. Good breakfast
getting old - rooms will soon need to be refurbished Staff could be more smiling
Good central location and next to the underground! Rooms were reasonable but not exceptional and the hotel certainly has a old and dated feel about it. New carpets etc would certainly help.
All the front desk and doormen staff ( except one elderly gentleman ) were extremely rude, aloof and arrogant !!! . No free wifi other than for one hour with a voucher in the lobby, but not in your room.. Ridiculous!!. Hotel needs a complete redo.. ie new carpets, curtains etc. Staff need retraining wrt who actually pays their wages. Not a feel good hotel, but well located
The location is amazing and the view from the terrace is something to look forward too.
Close to shopping and attractions
Pictures show a roof top area which turns out can only be accessed in you are in the presidential suite! Rooms are much older than they appear in photos. Staff kept coming into the room without knocking.
I loved the location, staff & everything, the value of money was worth it, bathroom is quite big and good, the room size was very good.
There was construction on my floor so it was noise and some of the workers were in my balcony which made me close the Curtains all the time, that's the only bad thing that I faced in ur hotel
