NJV Athens Plaza  

The staff and environment made me feel safe and well taken care of during the riots at Syntagma Square. The staff retained an admirable sense of professionalism in the face of a very challenging situation. I was so impressed that I booked a room for the last two nights of my stay in Greece as well. I would recommend this hotel highly.

The danger at Syntagma Square was palpable and we were prevented from going anywhere for our own safety. However this was an unavoidable event.

Location was very central, nothing else was worth to mention about. I would have been more satisfied if the rating of this hotel was 3 star and not 5 star!

At this price and rating of 5 stars there should have been more facilities that should have been there in the hotel. The only things that were there were Rooms, restaurant and a real bad bar/lounge. Moreover at 19€ a day of internet connection, least you expect is a good speed over wifi. Booking.com should consider realistic Star ratings rather then the ones proposed by the hotel itself.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Club atmosphere. Excellent location, 100m from a station on a metro line coming straight in from the airport.

The room was in need of re-decoration.

We stayed at NJV Athens Plaza Hotel one night and the receiptionists were very friendly,helpful,the location is perfect,just in the middle of Syntagma ,close to Ermou street and close to Plaka&Monastraki where you can have wonderful Greek food!!i

There is no complimentary water or anything else in the room! And the cleaning is not good according to the quality.

Rooms needed to be renewed, Bathroom wall tiles were very dirty (moule)

The hotel is well situated, clean rooms and friendly staff. The hotel charge for just about everything, the internet access is expensive, if you connect to your phone and also want Laptop access you will have to pay twice! The minibar is just like many other hotels so beware as a bottle if water will cost you €5.00.

Smart hotel with reasonable facilities, located in in the prime location of the city square. Easy walk to the high street shopping areas and eateries. Equally easy walk to the major sights of Athens too.

Twin beds were supplied instead of a double. Very strange for a couple staying several nights, but I hear that this is a rather frequent occurrence. Would be nice to be asked our preference upon checking in at least. Double glazing was sufficiently loose fitting to allow the noise from the road works to disturb our sleep. Would have been nice to be either pre warned about this, or receive some kind of notice regarding the duration... it disturbed our sleep for 2 or 3 nights I think. Unfortunately, the bar cafe in the lobby serves rather poor food too ... avoid. wifi should be free for one hour too ... the airport does it so why can't the hotel. I would expect better standards and service relative to the high standing of the hotel and the prices charged.

The quality and enthusiasm of the staff. The service did not feel artificial but very genuine - we had many natural and good-humored conversations with staff who were interested and showed initiative without always being 'asked'. The general comfort and decent size of the room (double) was a bonus. The airiness and design of the foyer and the feel of the cafe and restaurant were also appealing.

In its present condition this is at best a solid four star, not five star hotel. It must be extremely expensive to keep renovating hotels of this size, but it seems time for a makeover. There was some small degree of chipped and bumped surfaces and 'tired' paint and other finishes to be seen here and there - especially in the entrance to the room and around the corners and edges of the bathroom etc. This did not especially bother us as we had a pleasant experience overall, but the current state of room interiors is not what you see in true five star hotels.
