Danae Villa is a small, family-run hotel operating on a bed & breakfast basis. In Fira town, the capital of Santorini, Danae villa offers a great base to discover Santorini.

Good location, quiet and although a good walk into Fira there were plenty of buses from the top of the road.Artemis picked us up at the ferry port and also took us back down at the end of the stay which was a great help.Staff very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to supply us with the information we needed.Rooms cleaned every day.aupermarket and tavernas nearby so ne need to go to Fira at night if you didn't want to walk.Pool very pleasant and often had it to myself. All in all a good value, pleasant hotel.
Only niggle really was that the wi fi didn't reach our room and therefore had to use it in the bar/breakfast room area.Bathrooms a little on the small side too but then many are in Greek hotels.
Staff very friendly and helpful Ok breakfast Reasonably close to tourist attractions Swimming pool Pick up from the port
Shower- not up to western standards. It's a tiled pit with a curtain hanging on some strange contraption, which keeps swinging around and doesn't stay in place, also there is no attachment for the shower head, so between holding the shower head with one hand and the shower curtain with the other it's hard to actually have a shower. We booked and payed for a double room with one double bed, but when we got to the hotel we got given a twin room with two single beds. When we questioned the girl on the front desk she told us they they don't have to give us a double room and tried to argue with us. We did get the double room the following day, and the same girl on the front desk was nothing but nice to us, but the initial experience wasn't good and we would not stay in this place again.
Love the staffs a lot, very polite and helpful, they will suggest and direct you the places you want to go, the laundry, printing shop, post office etc (places a traveler normally want to go). The breakfast is served in long hour so you most probably can enjoy your sleep before getting down for breakfast. The pool and the common area is nice. I love the joined room's balcony, can just simply stay whole day for sunbathing without going out!
The wi-fi connection is poor. After a day traveling, during the night it's the time to stay at the room and keep contact with family and friends from other sides of the world, not asking for excellent connection, but just at least allow connection.
I liked the friendly staff and the facilities. I didn't mind being a little out of the town centre. It made for a slightly more relaxed feel.
I have no complaints.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean rooms with good air condition A/C. Supermarket, shops and restaurants located nearby. Within the walking distance to the capital Thira (15 min uphill). Pick-up service and transportation to the port.
Breakfast was very basic, they could serve much more local varieties. In the night There was some noise during the night when other guest were returning to their rooms.
Staff were very friendly and helpful very competitively priced swimming pool was easy to access and clean Staff dropped me off at the port after my stay which was much appreciated
Wifi not available in all rooms Breakfast was rather limited location is slightly further from the main town than desired (when walking)
Stuff Transfer to port Breakfast
Poor wifi Old rooms Noisy(our room was near parking) Coffee
The hotel is run by Artemis and his daughter Lespiana. they are very friendly and accommodating and will help you with anything they can, from booking trips, cars, bikes to dropping you into Fira. They have an airport shuttle which is free. The hotel is basic and good value for money. The rooms are cleaned everyday, have fridges and my room had a lovely terrace. The wifi is only available in the main dining area. The swimming pool area is really nice and the pool is a decent size. I would recommend people to stay here who want value for money. I would suggest that having transport when you are staying would be ideal given its location
Friendly staff, nice swimming pool, very clean appartment, good airco, very helpful in excursions!
Breakfast (although included) was limited
Good location, short walk to main town.
Beds were the most uncomfortable I've had in all of Europe, could feel the springs in my back. Wifi wasn't very good and only works downstairs. Felt like the staff didn't like you sitting in the common room using the wifi almost as if we were in their way..
Fair amount of restaurants around
Staff accused us of taking breakfast when we were told it was included in our stay. After they realized they made a mistake they passed on responsibility to us to pay. Hotel should take responsibility rather than passing it on to the Customer.
I liked the staff. They were helpful and positive. It was only 10-15 min walk to the centre and it was OK to walk at night as well. we had a nice balcony overlooking the swimming pool and the vineyard. It doesn't have the wonderful sea view of Santorini like the expensive hotels but it was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was not so special but it was OK. There is a bus stop very close to the hotel (every half an hour), so you can take a bus to go to Red Beach or the port..It's convenient. but you should learn the time table which is at the centre bus station before making plans.
The bathroom was a little bit old but it wasn't a big problem for us. They don't have a pick up shuttle after 11pm. We arrived at 1am at night so we had to pay extra to a shuttle company. Also, our ferry was 2:30pm on the way back, and the staff said they have a car going to the port at 11am. So we didn't take it as it was so early. This time we took a bus close to the hotel that was going to the port .It was OK.
quiet location but easy to go to Thira downtown. Very good service that makes me feel home
Good pool area. Approx. 10 mins walk into Fira. Bakery, supermarket, taverna's and bars all close by if you don't want to walk into Fira. Bus stop at the top of the road, a few mins walk which goes into Fira and other resorts. Staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive. Very clean. Rooms cleaned daily. Breakfast also very good.
Proximity to Fira and the Airport
Staff were not helpful in rectifying a very unpleasant situation and facilities were average at best. Felt like a backyard operation.
The breakfast was literally inedible. After the first day, we ate elsewhere it was so bad. The owners are nice enough but won't accommodate anything above or beyond.
The location was good, close walk to the city. Has a pool on site. Breakfast was nice. They pick you up at the port.
Our room the Wifi was not very strong.
Good location, very close to fira downtown. A very big balcony with view to the swimming pools where you can stay with comfort. Good price considering that you are in an expensive island.Recommended for a short term stay.
Small room, shower without place to put your stuff. Needs rennovation in the doors and in general a refreshment. Balcony door couldnt open cause the beds were leaving no space. In 2 words, not a stay to remember.
We wanted to put our friends' luggages in our room while we they were waiting for the time to do the checkin in their hotel, but the manager was very aggressive toward us and didn't allow us to do so. Also, he gave us wrong information about buses on purpose after the misunderstanding, which we found utterly unprofessional and unacceptable.
the staff is very nice.
Staff were super friendly and hotel was nice. Free breakfast was excellent too!!
Unfortunately it was just a little too far out of town for us (10 minute walk), otherwise perfect for a quiet night!
Owner of the hotel picked us up from & dropped us back to the ferry terminal for no extra charge. Staff were very nice & helpful. Organised a car for us to hire. Room was basic, nice big veranda attached, small bathroom. Breakfast was basic, only cereal, toast, boiled eggs and sandwich meat & sliced cheese, and tea/coffee/orange juice. Supermarket, shops and restaurants located at the end of the street. Walking distance to the capital, Thira. Pool was lovely and clean, there is also a bar in the pool area.
The location was good. About 10 min walk to center of Fira. Bus stop at the end of de road, so nearby. Very nice staff.
In the night a lot of noise when other guest returnt to their rooms.
Friendly staff. Willing to help with anything and everything. Pool is great, fridge in room, daily cleaning fresh towels etc. close to bus stop which have regular buses to fira, perissa, and Kamari as well as a few to akrotiri. It's only a very short walk into fira anyway.
Not really a negative but there seemed to be a lot of topdeck type tours staying at the hotel, so keep that in mind if it's not your scene.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Pick ups were great. A very clean and well maintained traditional hotel
