We loved the family who run Pergola. The second we arrived they made us freshly squeezed orange juice and made us welcome. Then they found out it was my birthday and the 'grandfather' ran off leaving us with strict instructions not to move - 10 mins later he arrived with a huge box of chocolates for me, all done up with bows and flounces! Then in addition they upgraded us to a great room ( small but comfy) with the best view directly over the sea. On our last morning the taxi we had ordered the night before didnt turn up to take us to the bus station - so 'grandad' ushered us into his car and took us himself! Lovely!!!!

The breakfast was very good. The rooms were clean. The position is pretty good with limited on-street parking; but the harbourside close by has plenty of free parking space. The room was very cold, even for December (!) and by the time we discovered that the aircon/heater was only blowing out cold air instead of hot, there was no-one around to sort it out.

Very kind people. Beautiful views of the ocean. Close to the main part of town and beaches. Nice to have fridge in room, to buy food instead of eating out all the time. Better if they spoke more English. No elevator. It would be a good place to stay for a few days, not the 3 weeks that I stayed.

Hotel owner picked us up from bus station and dropped us off for an early bus trip. Balcony with seaview of port. The room could do with a good wipe down. We had to request for sheet and towel changes. We extended our stay from 2 nights to 4 nights. No lift.

This is our second visit - last year we stayed there with our family who were over from Australia and this year we were with friends celebrating a 60th Birthday. The owner gave us a very warm welcome and we were served you with a fresh orange juice on arrival. The staff were also very friendly. The breakfast at 5 euros is excellent value. We will stay there again on our next visit to Ayios Nikolaos. The only adverse comment would be the size of the rooms - they are on the small side - but for a few nights this is not an issue and the balcony was large and overlooked the sea so this compensated for the small room.

Central location. Value for money. Quiet. Approachable staff Parking nearby is a bit hit & miss. Drain in bathroom overflowed - minor inconvenience. 109 steps from waterfront to room!

The staff were very friendly and helpful The room we booked was an 'apartment' which was suppose to be the biggest room they had because I had read reviews saying the rooms were very small. Actually the apartment was two small rooms one of which had 2 cots not big enough for adults. The bathroom was dirty with lots of black hairs behind the door- generally the rooms were all pretty dirty.

Central location. Not on the busy street with the restaurants, but on the quiet residential street behind. We had a room with the sea view. 1) Attention, tricky owners! I've booked a studio for 2 persions (higher price, than twin room). When we arrived, they asked us to pay (studio's price), but put us to the twin room, didn't saying a word about this change. When I've realized that it is not the studio, I went down and said that it was not the room I've booked, and the price is different, they said that the studio is not possible, because it's full (?!!!). How it's possible, if I booked the studio with booking.com and it was confirmed??? Finally, they said that we can change next morning. So, next morning we went to see the studios, and they were not better that the room we were staying in, so finally we stayed in the twin room, but I had to insist on having the right price for it. 2) Bathroom is tiny, it's really annoying. 3) noisy, as the building has very good accoustics - when cleaning lady does her work in the morning, you can hear her opening and closing all the doors and moving her equipment with such a noise, that you wake up immediately! The same thing about the noise outside - our room was facing the sea, but with the wind (at night) and ships coming to the port, everything in the room was trembling. I had very bad sleep all the nights. 4) Decoration of the room: room lookes nice, though quite small, but there are some moments which change the first impression: one of the lamps didn't work, another was not fixed correctly and had a bunch of wires on it. I think you can find a better place for this price.

The owner was a real gentleman he greeted us on arrival and made fresh oj for us. It is a family run hotel and they are very accommodating the owner brought us to the bus at 7 in the morning. The view from our room was amazing! It is very basic but it is not expensive so dont be expecting the Ritz's!

I was very impressed that the propriator gave me the times of the Buses from Ieraptra ( where I was staying with my School friend before going to Agios Nicolas) and he then came and picked me up from the bus station there too. He let me have coffee in the mornings even though I did'nt have 'Breakfast' there and he took me back to the bus station to get the bus back to the Airport when I was going home. Nothing stands out really. The weather was windy and I was cold at night so I put the extra blanket on my bed. I'm sure if I wanted another one I could get it as well.
