Next door hotel owner (Sofia) and her husband were rude and obnoxious.
Near to facilities in the old town. Staff were lovely. Friendly and helpful. Courtyard was a nice place to relax. Air conditioning
It was noisy at times due to the location. TV only shows Greek Channels.
We made such a great choice to stay at Petrino in September 2014. Panos, the owners' nephew, was incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating. He is a true asset to the hotel. The apartment itself was lovely - we had a two story unit, very spacious, with a full kitchen that we often used to cook breakfast. There is one air conditioning unit upstairs in the bedroom, but it worked very well and it was always a comfortable sleeping temperature despite the heat outside. The location is wonderful - staying in Old Town was a great choice. Easy walk to Mandraki Harbor (and the bus stations) and all other areas of Old Town. Petrino is great value, especially for the money paid.
The only slight downside was a quite hard/old mattress.
Local knowledge re places to eat and visit Warm friendly family run atmosphere A hideaway in the old town but just a few steps away from the action
We really like Petrino. Thank you Panos for everything. If we will come back to Rhodes, we will exactly stay Petrino again. You can feel old town atmosphere with no crowdy area.
Lovely courtyard. Very clean. Great Location. Very friendly family staff
Bedroom not dark enough for sleeping. Lack of and position of lights in all rooms
The place has a great deal of charm and character. Outside our door was a beautiful patio in which we could relax away from the commercial district.
I wish there was a fan. It was a bit hot for us.
Everyone associated with the hotel were a pleasure to deal with, from Panos, his grand mother and his cousin Maria. They could not do enough to make us happy. The location was great and facilities just what we needed after traveling for so long. The garden area was delightful to sit out side and have a quiet drink or breakfast and beautifully cared for by grandma how would come down each evening and light the candles to creat a wound wonderful romantic atmosphere
Bit hard to find, but the locals pointed us in the right direction
Clean, comfirtable room, in a lovely private courtyard setting, ideal for lazy morning breakfast, or quiet drink before dinner. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, with lots of suggestions about where to eat, specifically where we would find greek people dining and not just the tourist menu we saw in many places.
Room tended to be a bit bright in the evening as glass panelled door had no blind. Not a huge problem as usually exhausted and slept comfortably. other than this minor point, I could not find negative things to say.
Thé hotel Was great.we liked it much. Perfect location and very helpfull and friendly staff. I especially wanted to thanks to Panos. He Was great. He helped us much. Wè could not find Thé hotel He came and take olur Bags and also took olur bag till other hotel.i cant forget.
Everything was perfect. Great location - close to all major sights in the old town, outstanding hosts. I cant fault y stay in any way. I will definitely stay here when I next visit Rhodes
Excellent location in the historical Old Town of Rhodos. Located on a small quiet street, but just a corner away from all the action. Spacious, nicely furnished, clean & comfortable rooms. Nice courtyard with some sitting areas to enjoy the day or evening. The hosts warmth and kindness made us feel homelike. Highly recommended.
Location was excellent - in Old Town of Rhodes so everything is accessible on foot, but also situated on a small quiet street away from the action. The duplex we had was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Panos, the one that speaks English, was especially welcoming. Their warmth and kindness made our stay delightful.
It is difficult to find the place at first. However, the host lady came to the entrance of Old Town to meet us.
We had a brief overnight stay (on the way to Symi) in the split level apparent and it was brilliant. Full of character, a great location, peaceful, spacious, clean and with everything that you could need. Panos (the owners nephew) is a star. Aunt and Uncle are lovely but don't speak much English. Panos's number was left in the room in case we needed anything.
Great location in old Rhodes town very quiet but just around the corner from all the action. Great modern kitchen facilities for a long stay. Very clean and modern facilities while keeping the character of the old building
on 2 levels which is harder when you are older but otherwise very good.
Panos helped us out and made things easy for us at Petrino. The place is really great and the location was perfect. It's right in the old city and you can walk everywhere.
The room was nicely decorated and spacious, with the bedroom and bathroom on the upstairs level and a kitchen and living room on the lower level. There is a small but pretty central courtyard for hotel guests, with tables and chairs. The hotel is off the main pedestrian streets of Old Rhodes and is very quiet. One of the owners met our taxi several blocks away from the hotel, walked us to the hotel and even helped with our luggage!
Getting to and from the hotel is a challenge since taxis and cars are not allowed to go on the cobblestoned streets that are close to it. It would be nice to have fresh white sheets on the bed instead of older, orange ones! The owners speak NO English. This was only a problem when it was time to check out. We waited for their nephew to arrive so that he could process our payment. It would be great if they could include breakfast in the stay.
Great location within medieval walls, clean, with some personal touch in details and attitude. It felt homelike and comfortable when staying at Petrino's.
The location in the old city was nice and quiet and well situated to get around easily. The property has a lot of charm, but if you are unlucky and get a smoking guest, the smoker can fill up the entire lovely outdoor area with smoke.
Only the owner's son speaks English and he is not at the property very often. The cleaning person left our accommodation unlocked/with the door wide open on two different days and the main hotel entrance was also wide open for anyone to come in.
Petrino Apts is well located in the heart of old Rhodes walled city. Panno Petrino drove us in from the airport & he truly cared about our comfort. My daughter and I had a 2 story apt - lower level small kitchen/single bed area. Upstairs a Queen bed /nice bath. Very quiet with pretty courtyard just outside.
The narrow streets of old Rhodes are a crazy maze. Finding your way back to the apts the first time or two takes a map & focus! I would l love some sort of a hanging sign facing out at the door area to make the entrance more obvious a bit farther away.
Very cute place, with a sweet staff. The location is in the heart of the Old Town. The room was spacious.
This is something that could easily be taken care of: The hotel needs to provide better directions. Rhodes is an absolute maze, with dead-end streets that suddenly pick up in another location and a confusing numbering system. We spent more than an hour looking for the place, asking lots of locals who just couldn't help us get there, though they tried. Once we arrived, we saw how easy it could have been with proper directions. Also, the split-level apartment only had AC upstairs, which meant the downstairs was hot.
The location of this lovely, quiet pension, right in the heart of Old Town Rhodes, can't be beat. Just 1-2 blocks from all the restaurants and shops, but quiet as can be. Our room was very spacious, and very cool during hot days. Owner lives on site and very responsive. Other family members speak English and are available for any questions. Highly recommend. The location allows travellers to be completely independent of bus/taxis to explore this beautiful and interesting and historic city.
In old town but quiet location. Small family run hotel - only 4 rooms. Very large apartment size rooms with kitchenette.
A little hard to find at first. WIFI is weak. Virtually no TV channels for English.
The staff were wonderful and very helpful the room was perfect and location very good i would definately stay there again
Everything was very good
We stayed with 3 boys ages 10-2 yrs old. It was a great location and experience. The boys had wifi, the staff was friendly and helpful, and it was peaceful. I read the reviews. Keep in mind this is a group of old houses, renovated as apartments. The lights, wifi, and hot water seem to be set on a timer for saving electricity. Though it was in the middle of the day, when we were out exploring. The price and location were great.
There was an ant problem in the kitchen area.
