Location is great, clean rooms, nice stuff
Hotel would be perfect if it had parking. Small tip: if you travel by car make sure you pinpoint a parking on the map close to hotel.
Location was great, right in the heart of Athens and walking distance to everything.
We had 2 rooms in this hotel, one of which was a superior room on the 3rd floor & 1 that was not. The superior room was nice, no complaints. The other room was absolutely disgusting!!! I wouldn't take a shower in that room if you paid me! There was mold everywhere and the water would rise to your ankle if you did! Terrible experience! And no balcony with a view even though that was what was booked. We cancelled our reservations and stayed at a very nice Best Western instead!!!! Who'd a thought....
VERY small wash basin so there was more water on the floor than on your face- I write as a bloke who shaves! No decent desk to work at. Only one bedside light. Little things but for the money you pay you sholdn't have to worry about things like this
My 4th visit to Athens and the best Excellent location ,good metro /ferry/airport
Very friendly staff, great location, nice balcony, good breakfast, great value for money
Very old bathroom; i could hear clearly the tv of the other room
-checked in at 12am, asked for a late check out on the same day, extra charge. - guess the room wasn't vacuumed, hair all around.
geographical position at the foot of Acropolis in a pedestrian area, friendly staff, upgrade superior room, near to Thissia-Station
The location of this hotel is great being near the main tourist attractions. This is a busy area with lots of bars so be prepared for crowds in the evenings. The street outside also has many stalls selling locally made crafts some of which are very good. As the hotel was busy during our stay we were "upgraded " to one of there superior rooms on the top floor. Our room had a small balcony which overlooked the busy street which we enjoyed. The room itself was small and basic although recently refurbished. Bathroom was also small but adequate although some more towel racks would be good.
Coming from the tranquil island to Athens is always shocking... here we felt embraced by low rythm of this lively town, green colours in the morning, the Acropolis twinckles behind the trees.. beautiful breakfast. Very well situated close to metro station. We will surely be back !
the hotel was within walking distance of the venue - Odeon Herodus Atticus. Staff extrmely helpful and pleasant. Lift to 3rd floor. Breakfast good!
Room could have been slightly bigger!
The location is ideal if you want to walk around Acropolis and through the historical part of Athens. Also very suitable for bike and motorcycle owners - not the car ones.
It was not clean and had no usable wifi. Bad smelling room at the back side of the building.Back side rooms worthless definitely.Big turnover of people and noise in the corridors from early morning hours.Very hard to park cars in the vicinity.
Location, 3rd floor renovated.
Hotel looked dated like from 70's (apart from 3rd floor),overpriced, no Wi-Fi in the room, bathroom very small, blocked sink, water licking from shower cabin and watered whole bathroom. Breakfast extremely poor choice, no vegetables, no yoghurt.
Location, cleanliness and new carpets, bathrooms.
room too small and could make make a coffee in our room.
All. The staff was really nice. They tryed to help us in all, even information about greece, etc. The room was absolutely new, perfect. We sleeped perfect, no noise. Breakfast really good. Location perfect. In a centric area, absolutely safety, with restaurants, bars, underground 2 min from the hotel. Is perfect price-quality.
Nothing. All perfect
The hotel is not new, but the third floor is recently refurbished and has got decent rooms with neat bathrooms. Got a pretty room overlooking the pedestrian walkway and the park. Perfect location for enjoying the evening promenade how over a glass of wine with a bonus view over the Acropolis. Recommend.
Cannot enjoy the open window - the downside of the “pedestrian” walkway is the night traffic with tuned (or not) motorbikes – pretty much specific to all Greece, I suppose. All aircon compressors are located on the respective balconies and quite noisy.
Amazing staff. Amazing location. Everything is a 10 min walk away. Very happy with my stay here.
The wifi sometimes would drop out but it might depend on the room you are staying in.
This hotel has a great location just in the heart of thissio next to the metro station acropolis and shopping area. The hotel is old but kept clean friendly staff ok breakfast just fine nothing fancy.
small room.no view in our room.bathroom needs renovation. no parking in hotel but nearby
the location was excellent, it was easy to find and parking was not a problem at all. The view to the acropolis was great.
The room was very small - triple rooms means no space for suitcases at all anymore and access to the one small closet was difficult. The staff was ok, breakfast was very basic and not really good quality.
I had a great time in this hotel, few weeks ago I spent a couple of days with my sister and cousin and I have no doubts that the location is excellent!! it is few minutes walking distance from the Acropolis, there are plenty of great restaurants near by (also, in case you do not want to go out to have dinner, you will have a lot of food-options at the Phidias Cafe). Our plan was mainly to explore the area and get the most out of the few days we stayed in Athens, so we did not stay much time at our room. The price of the room was not that bad, since it was so close to the Acropolis and Monastiraky. In general I enjoyed of my visit, the hotel crew were helpful and friendly. Plus the breakfast was good!
The room is small (but as I explained before, if your plan is not to stay much time at the room, the small size of the room won't be a problem) The bathroom is very small ( I guess they could upgrade the bathroom since it is quite old)
We used Phidias Hotel for a one night stop over before catching a ferry the next day. I agree with other reviewers that the strength of this hotel is its position close to the acropolis, archaeological park and metro station. The staff were helpful (offering to let us store luggage, etc.), and the public areas are attractive. The breakfast was good, offering some hot English style items- but I think they could have been a bit more generous with the Greek yogurt.
Once away from the public areas things deteriorated and the bedrooms are in need of modernisation. Our air conditioner worked- just, but our bathroom and particularly the shower was poor. This hotel served its purpose as a base for a one night stop over but next year I will probably try somewhere else.
The place is wonderful, right in the midst of all the main tourist sites and next to the underground (Thisseo). The staff are friendly, the breakfast was good and the place clean. When we opened the windows in the morning we could sit on the balcony and actually smell the forest opposite: pines, eucalyptus and even fig trees. It's a wonderful place to walk around as it is a pedestrian road and a peaceful haven compared to much of Athens. Very busy café society at night, but of the tranquil kind and once you close your window you cannot hear much.
We had no bedside tables at all (for three beds) so I had to improvise one using a stool and the desk lamp. The extra folding bed kept collapsing! The bathroom was so small there was very little room to even move or put anything. Room very tiny.
The location. This is the only saving grace of this place. We were only in Athens for one night, so we needed to be close to the Acropolis. Still, I would've paid more to stay in a nicer, better maintained place.
-Very loud guests. Woke us up because they were so loud when they came in late at night, then again when they left early. No soundproofing at all. -The bathroom was quite grungy. So much so that my husband and I preferred not to take showers during our 1 night stay, which we NEVER do. It looked like it hadn't undergone any maintenance in about 10 years. -The lighting in the room is not very good.
170 euros for: -not being able to offer 1 bed for 2 people as promised over the phone; -no view as promised in the reservation; -tiny, so tiny room for this price. Never seen such thing even in Paris..; -Terrible breakfast in a cheap cafe. Good client of Booking.com, never had that before.
