Location: on doorstep of Acropolis
Tiny rooms, esp bathroom Not thoroughly cleaned: found some hairs in sink
Room not bad. Location very good. Staff helpful. Can ask for fresh coffee at breakfast!
Wifi strength not good in room.
Panorama over Acropolis
The situation of the hotel is just perfect, walking distance to Acropolis! The staff was very kind and helpful. Thanks!
Stayed in the Philippos back in 1970's and 80's - It's still there - modernized with just as friendly staff, comfortable facilities and its great location next to Acropolis and now the new museum. Brought my grown up family (3 rooms) to show them where to stay in Athens! They tell me their Dad was right to come back to 3 Mitseon. You got to love Greece!
Nothing comes to mind.
I loved the breakfast, especially the awesome Greek yogurt and the variety of bread and pastries. The location is just perfect: we could walk to the Acropolis, Plaka, the Changing of the Guard, the ancient Agora, and enjoy souvlakis and moussakas in nice restaurants around the corner We definitely recommend Philippos hotel!
Hotel was in a quiet part of Athens but with easy access to the Acropolis and the Plaka. Staff were also very helpful.
Some double rooms were quite small with little storage space. Breakfast was adequate but with limited choice.
Good location and very close to shopping center.
The location was fantastic. The buffet breakfast was all that you would need (particularly delicious yogurt!) 24/7 front desk staff wifi capability had a nice balcony off the room
room/bathroom was quite small
We stayed twice so have varied experience. The first time our room was small, very small, with no balcony, and a window which faced the back of other buildings. The second time I asked specifically for a room with a balcony, table, chairs, and we were given 504, a generous corner room, with very large balcony etc. Staff were welcoming, helpful, breakfast was very adequate and you cannot beat the location/price. Hotel was well maintained and despite the location, was a quiet place.
Some rooms are very, very small (501,502).
The vicinity of the hotel. It is within walking distance to shopping areas and also various types of restaurants. We even walked to the acropolis.
That the hotel had no pool.
Great location , all attractions are within walking distance, bus stops and subway station are just around the corner. furniture was a tad dated, as was the whole building feel, which just added to the charm, but all facilities work perfectly fine (except the tv, reception was a bit noisy- but really who is there to watch tv?) staff was very friendly and you could even ask them for a ride to the airport for the same amount you would pay a taxi, only more reliable and friendly :)
breakfast could be a bit more colorful, yet was not too bad
Location, location, location! Also, the responsiveness to our requests on booking-dot-com: they gave us a no-smoking room with a (partial) view of the Acropolis, in a quiet area of the hotel, as we had requested. Couldn't be better! And the staff: the receptionist really "got it" that my travelling companion couldn't manage a flight of stairs, much less 3. So when the passenger elevator broke down, he took her up & down on the staff elevator. (P.S., it was fixed within a few hours, but she just needed to go to the room during that time). Breakfast staff, same. They go out of their way to accommodate you.
I have to think hard to find something I didn't like, so here goes. The referral to the sister-hotel (Herodion) for dinner. Dinner there was very average, but the prices were not. And don't let them plop a bottle of water on your table -- you'll pay!
The location was ideal; literally next door to the new museum and just below the acropolis.
Hotel is somewahat dated, although clean and in overall good condition.
Good location near Acropolis.
Small rooms. Some staff not so helpfull.
Specially a room with an excellent close view to the Acropolis.
The breakfast could be better, but it was ok.
Very nicke staff, Location right behind the Akropolis Museum
Poor and crowded breakfast Old Equipment in rooms
The staff was amazing, helping and friendly.
Great location that was perfect for seeing the top places in Athens. The staff was nice enough and helpful in guiding us around the city and giving us good recommendations.
The bathroom smelled weird the entire time we were there and overall it did not seem to be good value for price. Looking back, we would've rather paid a little more for a nicer hotel or a lot less for a pension rather than feel like we were overpaying.
Very yummy breakfast (loved the yogurt and honey), excellent location and our room had a view of the Acropolis :)
Rooms were quite small but we hardly spent any time in them as we were too busy exploring!
Great view from our top-floor family suite, large desk, two rooms to spread with our 2 kids; location is amazing - 2 steps from the Acropolis Museum and 5 minutes from the Acropolis itself, safe, quiet neighborhood; decent breakfast
Breakfast room and food Location Friendly, helpful staff
Intermittent internet access Hard mattress
Very helpful and friendly staff. A clean and quiet room we got during our stay.
Generally I liked the hotel, it is nice and clean, the staff was helpful.
The breakfast was quite poor.
