It's the best hotel in the area of Piraeus with good price

This is a comfortable hotel where meals are served in a spacious and well decorated room just off the front lobby and alongside the bar. It is located close to the main amenities in Piraeus but not too close for noise to be a bother.

We arrived late for our one-night stay, hoping for a meal. The receptionist said that the restaurant stayed open until 11pm but it was clear from the level of service that the waiting staff would rather not be working.

Excellent staff who seek to make the stay comfortable. Good laundry service.

Fire doors left open to the emergency stairs on all floors. Done to keep the building warm but made a risk of fire spreading.

Lack of hot water. It might have been an isolated incident, but could have been handled better.

Great stay good food would stay here again.

Friendly helpful staff Central location

We were going on a cruise, so the location was excellent.

Everything was clean & tidy, close to the port and staff were very friendly and helpful

We stayed 1 night in this hotel. The room was clean, quiet, well equiped and well worth the 78 EURO we paid. We chose Theoxenia because it is only a 5 minutes walk to the ferry port.

On arrival we told reception we had to leave at 6.15 a.m. the next day. We did not receive sandwiches like some other guests. Piraeus is very busy and not the prettiest place in the world, so do not stay longer than necessary.

Not much other than proximity to ferry port.

Attitude of staff, breakfast, room facilities- no tea, coffee etc, beautiful entrance and smelly and tatty decor in corridors, lack of help in finding place to eat on arrival!!

It was an excellent hotel lovely staff, good location to allow island hopping day trips, excellent facilities, lovely and clean.

That is great location where is much clost to PIRAEUS port. that is why we chose this hotel and only 5 minutes to be GATE 8 for seajets ferries. Very nice receptionist and clean room.

Bit hard to find.

An excellent hotel very well located in Piraeus, close to the seaport. We used it prior to joining an Aegean cruise and can thoroughly recommend it for value and friendly service.

the staff were friendly and helpful. rooms were clean and comfortable. we arrived on a sunday and found the location was very quite. good location for cruise port..10 mins in taxi.

piraeus itself was not a particularly nice area....it is a commercial port not really a tourist area.

Piraeus Theoxenia is located very close to the main port which is why we selected it, their reviews were also very good. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and instantly felt relaxed. Due to us departing for an early morning boat at 7am the receptionist arranged for a breakfast to be made which we could take with us. Will definitely stay here again. Lovely hotel with lovely staff.

The hotel was close to the ferry port and the metro station, which was useful for us as we were able to travel to the Acropolis easily. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice, with a good selection of bread, fruit, cereals, juices, etc. Very well presented and clean. Beautiful decor with a luxury feel to it.

The food at dinner was very poor. If I had to guess, I would say that it is brought to the hotel frozen in a van from a catering company and then re-heated in a microwave. Not only that, the food was very expensive, especially given the poor quality. It was comparable to a microwave ready meals from Asda, for which you would normally pay about a pound per person. Also, where else in the world does a waiter pour a beer with the glass held vertically and shake the glass while doing so?? I was always taught to pour slowly with the glass at a 45 degree angle so as not to have half a glass of froth. The other problem we had, although this might be true of all hotels in the city at this time of year, was that it was too hot. The air conditioning was set to it's coldest temperature of 18'C, but it was still uncomfortably hot in the room. I had a shower in the morning then packed my case. By the time I finished packing, I was so hot and sweaty that I needed another shower. The outside temperature was around 40'C, so it was still cooler in the room than outside, but it was quite uncomfortable. It was also not possible to have a cold shower except early in the morning. After our visit to the Acropolis, we were very hot and when we returned to the hotel in the afternoon we were hoping for a cold shower, but it was still warm even when turned to cold. Again, this might be common to all hotels in the city at this time of year.

The staff were very friendly and accomodating speaking good English which was great as my Greek is non existant. Hotel very clean and room was good. Food was fine for a sanck meal in the evening which is all we wanted and there was plenty of chocie for breakfast. Staff at reception were very helpful nad allowed us to stay on in our room on departure day which helped us and booking onward transportation for us. Thank you

Piraeus is a busy port and is not the prettiest place in the world but the hotel can't help where it is
