The room was nice, large and comfortable, in a very quiet position, with a small shadowed terrace facing a tiny garden; the breakfast was abundant and served with kindness by the staff; hotel (and adjacent camping) staff available at any hour for any information and help (thanks for all!); free transportation from/to the port; the position of the hotel, close to the wonderful Plaka beach, is excellent.
The only (improvable) shortcoming was the poor quality of the wi-fi connection in the room. Not so bad...
Sweet little hotel near to one of the best beaches in Naxos. located not in the more touristy area, but also not too far away from restaurants and the villages.
there were very few items for cooking in the "kitchen"
They would come and clean every day and they also changed the towels. The breakfast was pretty good, and they would serve it on a nice outdoor area. The bed employed a decent mattress, and the room was quite spacious (though a bit dated facility). Overall, the staff were quite friendly, although they were not always helpful. As an overall comment, we would consider it to be a fine hotel if they charged half the price they do.
Poor value for money. First of all, the hotel is not located on the beach, but instead you have to walk through the camping and onto a small dirtroad in order to get there. It didn't give us any trouble, but we believe the honest thing would be to stop advertising it as a hotel "on the beach". The front door would not close properly and it kept getting stuck. The same thing happened with the bathroom door and although we asked the management to fix it they did not do anything until we left. We also asked if we could get some dishwasher liquid and a sponge so we could do the dishes and they said that they do not provide the customers with these things, something which is unacceptable when you take into account the price. Last, there was a rather small balcony but the real problem was that the window of the bathroom of the room next to us was literally above our heads.
The management and all the staff were very kind, serviceminded and careing and made me feel very welcomed. At my arrival there was a problem with my booking by internet but the Hotel solved it. Nice relaxed and piecefull atmosphere and nice guests from many countries and of mixed ages, families, young people, couples, etc both in Hotel and in the Camping. Excellent food to a very good price at the restaurant with a Chef that really cared for the food and the guests and made you feel like family. Nice big studios with modern furniture and nice decorated, some with seawiew. Good working aircondition. Exellent cleaning of the room every day. Close (short walk 100 m) to the wonderful 5 km Plaka Beach with something for everybody (piecefull spots, nudist spots, sunchairs and beachcafés, water sports and windsurfing etc.) and the Bus Stop to Chora, Agia Anna, and Prokopoes.
The friendly staff, the beach near the hotel, the view of the sea from the room
No good internet connection, small shower (...extremely small...), to have to walk or drive through the camping instead of walking towards the beach because of another area between not belonging to the hotel
Just returned from our third trip to Plaka I and had an enjoyable, peaceful time. Quiet location close to the best beach on Naxos. Good sized room with kitchenette and reliable shower, good taverna, small supermarket and swimming pool on site. Staff met us from the ferry and took us back to the port at the end of our stay. Not luxurious but a great place to relax.
Just a few negatives this year, which the hotel might like to think about: 1) When we arrived our toilet did not flush properly. They fixed it promptly but perhaps they need to give a little more attention to quality control. 2) The balconies on the upper storey do not have any shade. A simple canopy over the top floor balconies would be useful. 3) We stayed in mid July- the start of school holidays, and the hotel was taking large groups of student campers, who rather took over the restaurant and swimming pool. While I have nothing against students, the hotel needs to consider what it wants to be: Does it want to concentrate on providing cheap student camping accommodation, or offer a peaceful place for it's private guests. Perhaps they haven't got the balance quite right this year.
The beach is the nicest we have ever seen. The restaurant related is very good and home made. It was easy to have a car directly at the hotel.
Quiet place Nice view (only on upper floor rooms)
You have to move through the camping area in order to reach the hotel. Disfanctional shower cabin Breakfast is boring
Once you find plaka you will want to come back again and again. very friendly, plesant and helpful family owners, spotless clean, quiet and the perfect place to chill and relax. see you next year
not overly-touristy - away from main centre but on one of the best, longest beaches of sand we have seen. Friendly owner. Great balcony and view to ocean. Lots of places to eat along the sandy road next to ocean. These places were very reasonable cost-wise.
Internet always had problems working - whether in campground or at hotel. Very slow wifi. Would have been nice if the pool was at the hotel but it was at campground about 7 minutes walk away.
