A short walk from the Acropolis, 5-star Royal Olympic Hotel is centrally located near the picturesque Plaka neighborhood. The luxurious rooms overlook Zeus’s Temple, or the swimming pool garden.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. The room was beautiful and wow! what a view! Breakfast was great, particularly on weekends. You can't ask for a better location--between Monastiraki and Syntagma Squares in the heart of the city. The staff is so helpful -- at breakfast one of the team comes by and answers questions about the rooms, tours, buses, trains -- everything to make you comfortable in their great city! I'll be back!
The size of the elevator, but that didn't really matter. When there were several leaving and we decided to use the stairs (which we did mostly), a member of the staff helped carry my suitcase down!
Good size room & large bed. Very good breakfast. Rooftop bar are with fantastic views to Acropolis. Surprise pastries & bottle of wine in our room as a welcome.
Single small elevator. Immediate surrounding street corner a little grungy.
Couldnt be faulted. Attentive staff, brilliant location-walk to everything. Amazing rooftop view. Spacious, clean rooms with good bathroom. Late check out and access to lounge/rooftop if you require.
This is a very comfortable hotel in a great location? The staff are very helpful and there are wonderful views of the Acropolis and beautiful sunsets from the rooftop bar.
Simply put, a quality experience in all respects. Worth every penny.
Central location. Staff very attentive. Good breakfast! Fantastic view of acropolis
Small room and a little noisy
Rooms are well-serviced and offer an excellent night's sleep, with pleasant decor and amenities. Many have nice outlook, some with stupendous views of Parthenon, as does the spectacular roof area. Breakfasts are excellent and sumptuous, with nice waiting staff. Location in Plaka is superb, possibly the best. Lifts are small but efficient and well-maintained. Security is very good. 24-hour reception and supermarket next door both offer great convenience.
Mostly excellent, but some of the younger reception staff can be a bit sarcastic and abrupt [occasionally].
Location Staff Roof top bar
The location, view from the roof bar and the friendly and helpful staff make this hotel a good choice to the visitor to Athens
Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. The complementary welcome pack was a real treat, wine, water, fresh fruit and lovely Greek sweets. Great location right in the midst of the Plaka with great views of the Acropolis from the roof.
People on the roof-top moving furniture could be heard from our room.
The Plaka Hotel is a great gateway to the best of Athens. In the heart of the Monasteraki district with its shops and market streets, its access to the Agora, and its view of the Acropolis from our window and its rooftop view of all of Athens . . . wonderful! Add to that great service, complimentary wine and fruit, excellent breakfasts. If we stay in Athens again there's no doubt we'll stay at the Plaka.
Good breakfast and coffee available all day. There is a roof garden with a bar that has a great view of the Acropolis, lit up at night Very easy access to shops and a multitude of good cafes and restaurants.
There was not a thing we did not like!!
love the location, the wonderful staff, the rooftop view - everything really
Can be a bit squeeze in the lobby when there are lots of guests checking in but staff remained calm, friendly and courteous despite the pressure.
Location, helpfulness of staff, incredible breakfast in a lovely room and cleanliness of hotel. Also great view of Acropolis from top floor terrace in evening!
from the moment i walked in and encountered Eva, a manage, to the outstanding location. to the nice, though a bit small room, this hotel was ideal for me. I was in room 611 and the view, especially at night, of the Parthenon was staggering. plus two blocks from a main subway . The net time I am in Athens, which i loved as a first time travel there, I know I'll be staying at the Plaka
The only thing was no exercise room but I made up fo that with miles of walking
Excellent staff. Wonderful Breakfast. Magnificent location. Wine & fruit a very nice touch.
Rooms are not soundproof. Lots of noise can be heard from nearby rooms and especially from above.
This hotel is well positioned and has fantastic views of the Arcopolis from some rooms and from the roof terrace. Staff well very helpful, breakfast good, rooms and bathroom very comfortable with opening windows and altogether good value. I had room 205 on the street and a single 410 facing the Acropolis.
Lift can be a little slow but stairs are easy and a good way to exercise!
Staff Location Roof top bar
Good value for money
Average rooms, terrible elevator, prefer a little more upscale place.
Friendly staff, clean bright rooms, and a wonderful view of the Acropolis from the rooftop bar. Breakfast was fantastic and the laundry service was good and cheap. Situated in a great spot walking distance to the Acropolis, Plaka region and train station to airport and docks
This hotel is in the heart of the old town of Athens, near all the major sites, and within easy walking access of numerous restaurants and shopping. Night time views of the Acropolis from the roof top terrace are a real bonus. Excellent breakfast, helpful and friendly staff, and nice rooms made this a perfect choice for us.
Don't be put off by the first impression of the busy crowded street outside the hotel. Athens is a big city and much of it is not touristy, but you are right in the middle of where you want to be. The elevator is small, so be prepared to wait if you don't want to take the stairs. It's really part of the charm of an older European type hotel.
Centrally situated with great views to the acropolis
Hundreds of tour groups crammed the reception which was the entrance to all rooms, a lot of the time.
