Porto Plaza Hotel    

Excellent - outstanding hotel for the money I paid. New hotel, constructed with very good material, with nice facilities, located on a hill aprox. 100meters away from a nice beach (sea) ideal for swimming. The parking was comfortable and free. I had booked 2 rooms (111, 113) and I payed 50euros per room per night. The rooms were very good, very clean, fully equipped, with limited view (there are more expensive rooms with much nicer view). The hotel was very clean. The personnel was very polite and eager to provide support or anything else requested. The breakfast (self service) was very good. There was free (cable) internet for my laptop (2Mbytes/sec av. speed) and satelite TV.

The personnel is the minimum required to do the job. But they are efficient and the result is very good. One of the most cost effective hotels i have been (excellent value for money)

The hotel is well located, the rooms are comfortable and the price is reasonable. The owner lady is very willing to help on everything. In total our staying was pleasant and I could go again.

The hotel is understaffed , which has an impact on service (most of the day without receptionist and poor service during breakfast peak time). The view from our room was not the best one (kitchen chimneys in front of us) , but I believe we were not lucky and other rooms have better view. Although the overall service comparing to price was positive, I can not say that the Hotel deserves the 4 stars.

The staff of (I think) two seemed very good about their jobs, at least so far as their personal reputation. The caretaker was very nice about driving us places before our car rental, as the hotel was far removed from the town. We found our room to be clean and modern, and the cleaning was absolutely up to good hotel standard throughout our stay. The same lady also served breakfast, which was good. We liked the location a lot better once we had a car -- it is quiet, and the beach is right below, and visible from the rooms.

Where to begin? Arriving here was a bit like the Twilight Zone... While the two individuals working there were very good about their jobs and congenial, there was no reception. When we went to the lobby for breakfast about eight, it was locked with no lights on. Breakfast, we found out, was at nine. We brought our passports for checkin, but this never happened, so I assume it was taken care of through this website. The hotel is about two years old, and you got the sense that someone had invested a lot at one point, but wasn't invested enough to hire more than the caretaker and the cleaning lady, who did at least seem invested in the place. The pool, like other places offseason, wasn't filled, and there was construction during the day. For us, being out in the boonies without a car at first, having no Internet (which was advertised!) was a big problem. We felt that we had paid slightly more and gone for the remote location because of the offseason prices but, other than the state off the room, we got sold a bill of goods advertising a modern luxury hotel which was being run by well-meaning amateurs -- something we could have paid a lot less for in a b&B.

Facilities in hotel safe where not as described - pool for the suite we stayed in was dirty and had no water in it. We were told we had not paid for there to be a useable pool with the suite even though it was in the brochure clearly as a facilty for our room and there was no different price quoted! Security at the hotel was poor anyone could walk in and out of the hotel as more often than not the reception had nobody on it. Safety box in room was not bolted to the wall easy to just walk out with it. Requested to have the door to the safe opened on arrival nothing was ever done ( not that we would have used it) by the time we checked out. A lot of building work near to the hotel. The only road to get to the hotel was being constructed fully appreciated the fact they needed to do work on the road however 1 morning we could not get out from the hotel as planned. It would have made sense they advised guests through a note in the room the night before so we could have planned accordingly. Overall very nice room and concept but experiece spoiled by above. Hotel needs more staff and better security

Curatenie impecabila. Vederea la mare este fabuloasa. Constructie noua.

Nu este finisat de 4 stele. Nu are stil sau ceva placut in decorarea camerelor, restaurantului sau receptiei. Inca mai lucrari de terminat, inclusiv finisaje. Micul dejun este printre cele mai slabe servite la un hotel.

It is in a quiet location at Ae Giannis beach and the beach is near by 3 min walking. The owners are very polite and make a great effort to manage their hotel ! Its very clean and the rooms are big.There is free cable internet in the rooms and wifi at the reception.

We stayed at the Hotel during the hight season August 2012 and the hotel were full booked! To my opinion the Hotel is understaffed.There is a couple who are the owners, their nephew, and to ladies who help for cleaning and during breakfast! They are amateurs in directing a Hotel. You can see it all day. There is almost now one at the reception and during breakfast pick time there is no clean table to seat and you have to wait. In the rooms they don't even have a card for no disturbing, so the cleaning lady can enter any time. In their leaflet the say that there is a a pool bar with snacks and an indoor bar in the lobby area, but most of the day there is nobody to serve you. Also if you like to have meals at the Hotel you have to pre order as there is no restaurant. If you have a room near the two swimming pools the cleaning system make a lot of noise, which is very disturbing especially at night as it has a cycle starting at 3:15a.m until 4:00a.m.!! All rooms have a meridian west exposure and as some rooms (as ours) do no have any shelter, they are all day long exposed to sunlight, so its impossible to sit at the balcony and enjoy the view. As a conclusion I believe its overpriced and for the moment it don't deserve the 4 stars.
