Pyrgos Exclusive Boutique Villas

The views, the buildings, the setting. The lovely people who run the place, the sweet room, the sun terrace. It was a totally gorgeous place to stay, and I want to go back with my family now.

I liked the hilly walk up to the villas, but some people might find it a bit much. I was the first visitor of the season, and the pool was only filled for my last couple of days. It wasn't a problem really, but when I had a chance of a swim, I realised what I had been missing!

Nice and quiet location, friendly welcome, well maintained, spacious apartment with nice balcony and great sea view. Excellent to start your holidays in Greece and get accustomed to high temperatures.

Steep road from the centre of Agios Kyrikos (you need a car to have dinner and for groceries). Small swimming pool with only two lounge chairs. Very windy terrace (5-6 Beaufort which is normal for Agios Kyrikos). Noisy during the night due to the wind in airconditioning and hood tubing so take your earplugs.

My husband and I were looking for a place to celebrate 30 years of marriage. We were captivated by the photos, and they did not disappoint. In fact, Pyrgos exceeded our expectations. I felt like a princess staying in a castle. Our villa was huge and opened directly onto the pool. The staff - especially Eri - went out of their way to help us with every need or desire, from renting a vehicle to preparing us an early breakfast. The location combines the best of two worlds - it is up in the hills, away from the (relative) bustle of the port, but offers a panoramic view of the sea. It is close to many beaches, as well as the town of Therma with it's theraputic mineral baths and excellent seafood restaurants. "Luxury" is a relative term - it depends a lot on personal expectation and experience. For us, our stay here was the height of luxury. Comfort, beauty, peace and relaxation were what we wanted and what we experienced. We can't wait to return.

While there was nothing that we didn't like, we would caution others that while the walk to the port area is short, it is quite steep. Car rental is inexpensive, but automatic transmission is unavailable. Fortunately my husband and I know how to drive standard transmission. We made the mistake of filling our tank - which cost 50 E - and after three days of motoring around the island had more than half a tank left. Scooters are an option for those younger and more adventurous than we are.

Ότι χρειάζεται αυτοκίνητο επειδή είναι ψηλά στον λόφο για όσους δεν συνηθίζουν να περπατούν...

Αρχικά συνιστούμε να μείνετε κάπου στον Εύδηλο αντί στον Άγιο Κήρυκο καθώς τα περισσότερα όμορφα μέρη με εξαίρεση τις Σεϋχέλλες και το Φανάρι βρίσκονται στη βόρεια πλευρά και κοντά στο λιμάνι του Ευδήλου. Παρόλ' αυτά συναντήσαμε ένα ευχάριστο προσωπικό που μας πρότεινε μέρη να επισκεφτούμε, μας βοηθήσε να νοικιάσουμε αυτοκίνητο, όμορφη θέα, όμορφες βίλες και γενικά την αίσθηση του κάστρου καθώς το ξενοδοχείο βρίσκεται σε ύψωμα.

Το καράβι μας έφτανε ξημερώματα και ζητήσαμε αν γινόταν να μας παραλάβουν από το λιμάνι.Υποθέσαμε, καθώς τα δωμάτια ήταν αυτόνομες βίλες και καθαρίζονται 1 φορά την εβδομάδα όπως γράφεται και στις πληροφορίες του ξενοδοχείου, ότι θα ήταν έτοιμη να μας δεχτεί. Έτσι συνέβη αλλά στο τέλος διαπιστώσαμε ότι μας είχαν χρεώσει early check-in που σημαίνει μισή διανυκτέρευση ακόμα. Σε συνδυασμό με την ήδη ακριβή τιμή δε μας άρεσε ενώ δεν περιελαμβανόταν ούτε πρωινό στην τιμή. Απαραίτητη ήταν η χρήση αυτοκινήτου ακόμα και για να πας στο περίπτερο καθώς το ξενοδοχείο βρίσκεται ψηλά και σε δύσκολο σημείο. Το δωμάτιο ήταν γεμάτο μηρμύγκια, μέσα στα έπιπλα, στο φουρνάκι, στα τραπέζια, παντού. Υπήρχε πισίνα αλλά μικρή και σχετικά βρώμικη, ενώ ουσιαστικά η πρόσβαση ήταν από μόνο 2 βίλες ουσιαστικά.

From the exceptional villas made of pure local stones and the amazing and breathtaking view from the balcony and windows up to the owners and the responsible person for running the hotel, I can tell that I experienced the most hospitable and relaxing holidays in my life. People involved in the villas management have a unique awareness of hospitality and consider visitors' needs on a case by case basis. Rooms are luxurious and without this being depicted in the price which more than reasonable. We wll definitely come back again!! Elena -Panagiotis 11 - 17/08/2012

L'architecture des lieux est très saisissante

Bassenget som det var reklamert med var ikke fylt med vann. Dette var litt av grunnen til at vi bestilte dette hotellet.

Swimming pool is small but nice anyway.

We had two rooms. Rooms smell like a cellar. Hotel tries to fix it with automatic parfume sprayers in the rooms. In the other room floor is pure concrete, not even painted. Rooms are very dirty. Decoration is cheap looking and broken. Hotel staff made tree times childrens fingerprint checks in the room during our stay. Rooms have thousands of ants and big variety other kind of bugs. The hotel is located up on the hill. Takes for a family 30 min to walk up. During the summer heat it is hard work.
