Great location across the road from a blue flag beach, bus stop outside hotel to go to either chania or platanias at night, very clean, basic facilities but ideal as a base, staff very helpful
En suite bathroom was very small
Unbeatable location on top of a hill with sea view and private stairs down to the beach (stairs as many as a 3 story building), good breakfast which is served at the pool bar, clean pool that can be used even at nights, careful daily cleaning, balcony, spacious room, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
Stunning views from this unpretentious little hotel on the hill. Exceptional value for money and delicious breakfast. Lovely large pool. Couldn't fault it for the 2 days we were there. Wished we could have stayed longer.
Pool, location of the pool and the view of the sea. Always enough sun beds available. Family all attentive and helpful, made for a relaxing stay.Good situation away from the main road.Balcony overlooking the sea lovely. Fridge useful. Cost was very reasonable.
Road down below is constantly busy and there is some inevitable road noise. No drawers to store clothes in, limited storage space generally.
We were 2 friends and we stayed 5 nights at the hotel. The hotel was very clean, breakfast excellent and really nice rooms. We felt like at our home. Also important to mention the kindness of the owners. They really took care of us. Very high recommended place to stay.
The hotel was well located and the staff was very accommodating! We checked in hours early, they made any arrangements we needed, and breakfast food was great!
The beach was across the street and down several steps.
Fantastic family run hotel, the cleanliness was amazing, wonderful staff, would recommend it to anyone and would love to return.
- Great location in the first village after Chania, easily accessible by bus (stop a few minutes away from the hotel) - Beach nearby was not crowed at all even in July :-) - Nice pool with possibility to eat there too - Nice view from the room (because the hotel is on a hill overlooking the sea)
No elevator but the owner kindly carried my suitcase upstairs :-) Staircase between the hotel to go down to the beach and village as mentioned in the other reviews, but that's the price to pay for a nice view and quiet feeling. It is not a big deal unless perhaps for older people. Price of taxi from/to the airport - make sure to book in advance or ask the hotel owner to book for you in order to have a better price
Loved everything about my stay.... excellent rooms with an excellent view, and excellent service
Anywhere close, beautiful view of the sea, kind owners
The hotel was exceptionally clean, bed linen and towels were changed very regularly. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. The breakfast was very good with a good choice and plenty to eat. We had a very enjoyable 10 day holiday there and will go back again in the near future.
The family are so lovely and helpful and take great pride in looking after their guests. The new Junior Suite is a big step up in accommodation and we really enjoyed all the space, modern decor and huge walk in shower. Stella provides very good breakfasts, salads and snacks.
97 steps up from the main road makes it a bit of a climb but good for aerobic exercise! However, it is not much of a problem since one of the family will collect you from the bus stop anytime you need them to.
This was our third time in this hotel and we enjoyed it as much as previous times. We will definitely book it again next time we visit Chania. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money!
Liked everything. The owner is amazingly attentive and helpful. The food delicious, bed comfy, pool scene and ocean view oh my. Want to be back there already. Stayed mid May.
Loved it all
Difficult to find anything meaningful
Very comfortable and clean.
It was almost a case of dragging me away screaming!, the owners could not have been more helpful and friendly the hotel was kept in a spotless condition we had a great holiday and cannot wait to return. We managed to loose a gold ring on the day of our departure but within 12 hours we had an e-mail from the owners saying that it had been found and asking how they could return it! Hows that for honesty?
Very nice hotel, good value for money,Nice hosts!!Would stay again.
location, views, room and breakfast. Free use of computer. Free coffee and tea all day.
We chose to stay at Renieris as a base for exploring Western Crete and Hania... It was an absolutely perfect location to do so. We often prefer a more of a 'self catering' style zimmer or apartment, but chose Renieris because it seemed to have great value (and it really does!) It is nestled among olive groves, atop a small hill just next to the shore. The owner is friendly and attentive, the breakfast (which we were skeptical about prior to arrival) was large, fresh, and delicious making for a very nice way to start a day of adventuring, the room and facilities were exactly as pictured, clean, and very well kept, the beds were new and extremely comfortable, and the view of the sea was to die for! I loved waking up in the morning and walking out on to our balcony to the view over the sea, even if a bit chilly (mid-April). Highly highly highly recommended! We didn't get enough of western Crete as it is just so beautiful and there is so much to see, and upon our return we would absolutely stay at Renieris again!
Definitely recommended as a place to stay with a vehicle, though there is a bus stop just down the hill. While driving, the signage on the road is small and difficult to see (as it is with much of the island), and the driveway sneaks up on you very quickly, we missed the small turn off nearly every time, but was easy enough to turn around ;)
Excellent family run hilltop sea view hotel with great personal service from the owner and immaculately clean throughout the whole hotel.
Friendly helpful owners who provided a first-class guest service. Rooms were cleaned everyday & were spotless. Views were stunning from the balcony (Room 30)
Nothing was to much trouble for the Staff, very helpful in every way.
The steps to & from the lower road & the beech.
We stayed here for the 1st week in October and couldn't have enjoyed it more, the friendliness of the the staff and the cleanliness of the whole hotel made for a great week.
