Wow!! Best hotel in crete,, we have been going to crete for 10 years now and had come to accept basic hotels as standard, anyone that goes to Crete will know what I mean,(the greeks have a tendency to rate there own hotels,ie;there 4 stars are more like hostels) out there until the royals heights came along.We stay in about 30-40 hotels a year so we have a fair idea what a good hotel should be,and this is one. Michael at check in is brilliant,we'll we would say that as we got upgraded,,huge pool, nobody getting up early and putting towels on sunbeds,could not fault this place,,all in all, Crete + weather + royal heights = bliss,,

We arrived at the hotel in mid-October which is out of season. The weather was a bit chilly so we couldnt use the pools, but if you get there on summer, the private and the main pools are great. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The kitchen was very helpul with preparing suppers for the kids. The hotel staff was great. Michalis and Julia went out of their way to make us comfortable.

1= The hotel is up the mountain, a 5 min drive from the main road of Malia, but it is not near the beach or pubs. We thought it better to visit the noisy parts of the town when we wish for noise, and sleep where it is quiet. So it maybe a plus and not a minus. 2= You need to have a car to get there, but so are many other sites of Crete, so unless you plan on just sitting by the beach, we advise you rent some wheels anyway. 3= It wasnt cheap, but for all the comfort provided, in my view (and my adoring wife's) definitely worth the money.

The staff were all excellent and willing to go the extra mile to help..

Nous avons séjourné dans la villa ambassador n°1, et nous avons été très satisfaits des prestations de cet hébergement. Calme, propreté, piscine et jardin privés, cusine équipée, ordinateur avec connexion internet gratuite..La vue sur la mer est magnifique et l'avantage de cette villa est qu'elle n'est mitoyenne que d'un seul coté et dispose d'un espace extérieur plus grand que ses voisines. Vous avez l'impression d'être dans votre résidence secondaire. Le petit déjeuner est conséquent et varié, et très agréable puisque vous le prenez en terrasse face à la mer. L'hôtel dispose d'une salle de sport très bien équipée en accès gratuit et d'un spa très agréable avec une grande variété de prestations.

Nous déconseillons très vivement le restaurant de l'hôtel. Les prix sont assez élevés et la nourriture est loin d'être excellente (steack haché sur un lit de salade de chou rouge ?!?! et tagliatelles gorgées d'eau). Il est préférable de se restaurer dans des endroits plus typiques du vieux village, comme au San Giorgio, où pour le même prix, vous avez l'appéritif, la bouteille de vin, les desserts et les digestifs (raki) offerts par le patron, le tout dans la convivialité et une très bonne ambiance. Concernant la tranquilité des villas, nous avons remarqué qu'en contrebas de celles-ci se construisait la nouvelle grande départementale. A voir au niveau du bruit...

Ruime parking en mooie grote kamers voorzien van keukentje en salon (Deluxe-kamer geboekt met zicht op zee) - zeer ruime fitness (gratis). De kok heeft voor ons speciaal een moussaka gemaakt (op bestelling), zeer lekker! Verblijf is zeer rustig gelegen en mooi uitzicht op de zee. Het restaurant is niet zo gezellig (beetje effect van een refter) maar wel eerlijke keuken. Kinderopvang voorzien in restaurant in afzonderlijke ruimte. Bij het ontbijt kan men verse eiergerechten (gratis) bestellen.

Jammer dat men dient bij te betalen voor sauna & hammam (€ 10 p.p.). Hotel is hoog gelegen (even wennen aan steile oprit naar hotel) - Sfeer ontbrak maar dat ligt waarschijnlijk aan de periode waarop wij waren (einde maart). Koffie niet lekker en appelsiensap bij ontbijt was uit brik (kregen wel vers geperste appelsienen op aanvraag, zonder bijbetaling). Toch beetje spijtig dat voor zo'n klasse van hotel niet onmiddellijk vers fruitsap en verse confituren worden aangeboden.

Nous avons été très bien acceuilli , le petit déjeuner excellent , le spa/salle de gym tres modernes, la piscine couverte chaude , une vue epoustoufflante depuis la chambre ( piscine a debordement surplombant la mer ) . Recommandation d'un très bon restaurant en ville

η θεα, οι ανεσεισ και το προσωπικο που ηταν ολοι τουσ πολυ φιλοξενοι

το γεγονοσ οτι δεν ειχε θερμανση (καλοριφερ) στο μπανιο και επειδη το επισκεφτηκα το χειμωνα, χρειαζοταν οπωσδηποτε. ο κλιματισμοσ του ηταν μετριοσ ωσ αποδοση και ωσ ποιοτητα.

όμορφο, καθαρό δωμάτιο.

Zimmerausstattung und- Design, Gym, allgemeine Sauberkeit der Anlage und Freundlichkeit des Personals. Gutes Frühstück.

Es war Ende September relativ wenig los auf der Anlage, während unseres Aufenthalts lag fast niemand am Pool. Insgesamt liegt das Hotel doch sehr abseits, sodass man auf ein Mietauto nicht verzichten sollte. Von daher wäre ein Hotel-Shuttleservice in die Stadt angebracht gewesen. Nach Malia (Altstadt) geht man zu Fuß ca.15-20 Minuten auf einer recht steilen, dunklen und engen Straße ohne Fußweg. Bis zum Strand würde es sicher mindestens doppelt so lange dauern.
