The Royal Olympic hotel is the perfect base to see the best of Athens. We could see the Temple of Zeus in front of our room window, and we were less than 5 minutes' walk from the road to the Acropolis, which we could see from the rooftop restaurant/bar/garden. Our room was amazing with a king size bed that was heaven to fall into at night, and the staff, pool and breakfasts were beyond what we expected! I highly recommend this hotel for those wanting a luxury atmosphere or for honeymoon couples!! |

Great location, close to museum and walking distance to Acropolis, restaurants and shops! Magnificent view from the rooftop. Some staff members are friendly but most are extremely rude. Should you have any questions or need information, you are a complete nuisance to them. They are dismissive and annoyed by you! |

Location is excellent. Easy walk to Plaka, New Acropolis Museum, shops, restuarants. Comfortable beds. Foyer, entrance, concierge, etc. are all magnificent and really makes it seems like a 5 star establishment - but you quickly realise, once a guest, that it operates like a 4 star. Breakfast was deplorable. Crowded and insufficient food was kept up to the buffet. Also, quality was shocking for a 5 star establishment. No egg chef. No hot meats (sausages, bacon, etc.) and this is always the case, apparently; not just because they were busy. It seemed like 5 tour groups/busloads had arrived at once and they were squeezing people in wherever they could. Pool hours were disappointing - closing @ 7.30pm in the middle of Summer. Also pool was shaded and so quite cold. No tea or coffee making facilities in rooms - have to use room service @ 5.50 euro for tea/coffe and 3 euro for hot water. Only one outlet in our room worked so we had to choose between lamp or laptop. Likewise in our kids' room next door. |

The hotel was amazing. We were on our honeymoon and everything was perfect. When we arrived our room was upgraded for us and we couldn't have been more impressed with our room and all the services of the hotel. |

Excellent location near the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus, beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant, very clean hotel. Staff were helpful on both our short stays. Pool stayed open until 19.30pm - teenagers enjoyed it a lot. On an exceptionally hot night, air conditioning in room was not quite cool enough. |

Staff on reception, bar and concierge were very polite and helpful. Hotel is beautiful. Service in restaurant on the roof top was appalling. We were left standing at the door on arrival even though we were seen by several staff and restaurant was not busy. Then at lease 40 minutes waiting for someone to take our order. Bar staff in the roof bar were excellent though. Breakfast left a lot to be desired too. I gave up on the third day trying to battle my way through to get a slice of toast, area was to cramped. |
