great view from the top floor terrace, very nice luxurious common spaces (lobby, restaurants, elevators); great location - next to Plaka area and only 10-15mins walking from Syntagma square not a 5* atmosphere in the room; breakfast not included in the room price; if you book a normal room than the view from your room will be on the back side, with walls, other rooms and the swimming pool;

The only good thing was that it is very close to the centre of Athens. The room was small, the bathroom old and tired and the vew from the window was another wall... you could hear very clearly the people in the next room talking, moving... There is no coffee or tea making facilities in the room, and there was no coffee or tea available on the room service menu either...

Good location for sightseeing. Definetly not 5+ , maybe "in the Greek standards" . The worst 5+ hotel I ever stayed!

I chose the hotel because the description said it had a gym. However, the gym is definitely sub-standard even for a hotel with fewer stars: it is outside the hotel building; you need to ask for a key; then walk some 300m along 2 street; then unlock a shop-like entrance before you realise that the machines are of lower amateur standard (if they work at all), the floor is not very clean and there is a toilet but no shower. It goes without saying that there a no towels, no drinks and the entire vernue is poorly lit.

Good value for the price (special offer at 154€ breafast included), but not friendly and very "corporate"; Extremely well located though, especially for a short stay down town. If you take an exclusive room, you won't be allowed to have your breakfast on the terrasse in the morning, overlooking the acropole..; And nobody will inform you that you will have to go in the basement dining room which looks like a canteen... I'm sure you will be able to find a good hotel much more friendly... To be honest, the room was large, extremely clean, the deco very nouveau riche, but with no view and globaly without any charm... Furthermore, the cleaning lady woke me up at 9.00 am !! Try to find an other place frankly! IOh, and if you wand to dive in the swimming pool, you are surounded by 400 bedrooms on 6 floors....overlooking your performance!

Very clean and quite luxurious for the category of hotel wwhich was also offered at a good price. I am used to top 5 star hotels on my business trips (with the company paying) , however,I was not dissapointed at all with the quality of this hotel. Local surrounding area a little 'tatty' but not to far to walk to find some nice cafe's and restaurants. Shame the hotel did not have there own (or shared) airport bus. We arrived on a day with everything except the Metro on strike and it was no fun dragging our suitcases through the streets from the nearest station!!

The hotel is nicely decorated. It feels good to come back to a nice hotel like this when you are away from home and you´ve spent the whole day walking in a pretty chaotic city. The shower is only ok, not too bad but not like a good 5 starts hotel shower. The staff is pretty cold, as if you are bothering them when you ask them something (arrogant I’d say). The breakfast is nice but there was nowhere to seat when we got there!!! I did not like that.

It was too closed to city center. You can easily visit Acropolis and The temple of Zeus. A good comfortable beds will help you take a good sleep. Bathroom ceiling had excessive moisture. Surly behavior of the employees is a bad example of the hotel face for the exhibits. Breakfast is not satisfactory because it is too little variety.

location, accessibility Too expensive for what we got, lobby of hotel is remarkable but as soon as you leave it, it's dated and dingy. Staff was not friendly, for the price we paid 150Euro per night, could have cracked a smile.

Large room, nice grand decor throughout the hotel. Paper-thin walls. We could hear people talking next door, and traffic outside. Woken up too early by housekeeping hoovering the hallway. Housekeeping didn't replenish our shower gel and shampoo - had to request it. Staff in the rooftop restaurant were pretentious and they had no vegetarian options. Went to the Athens Gate rooftop restaurant the following night and got better service, better view and the total bill (including bottle of wine) for two came to the same price of one main course in Royal Olympic.

Such a great hotel with a spectacular view over the main touristic attractions...Having a romantic diner on top of the hotel looking at the Acropolis and temple of Zues is a must! The food is extremely delicious and well served!. Great hotel well worth it! There is no better hotel in Athens with a view like that! We had a room with a bathroom that did not suit us and we immediately got a room with a bathroom that did suit us (separate shower) and got a balcony on top.

The hotel itself and the staff were great but the view from the room was simply amazing! I also liked the fact that it was extremely centrally located - close to the very centre of Athens.

The location is perfect for exploting the Acropolis and the old town. You are literally a 5 minutes walk from this amazing monument, and you have the National Gardens at your doorstep. The rooms are fine, just the bathrooms are a bit small and the walls are not very soundproof. If you like breakfast in the hotel, book it directly because otherwise it is expensive to add it later.

“An excellent choice for visiting Athens. Athens Gate made our stay a real pleasure. The hotel has a perfect location for tourists, is spotlessly clean, and we really liked the modern decor. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful, especially during the strikes. And, of course, the roof top garden breakfast with views of the Parthenon and city was a perfect way to start any day. A great place to stay and a real value for the money!” Kelly, Fallbrook |

The food in the hotel restaurant, is lovely well cooked and with a good presentation. Lokks like the hotel has a great manager! ” Rita, Saravalli |
