Samonas Traditional Settlement is a group of two-story houses with unlimited views of the White Mountains and Souda Bay. An outdoor heated pool, a gym and a steam bath are featured. In the entire region there are more than 200 caves, the nearest Samonas cave located next to the settlement. The Minoan tombs in the same area are also impressive. Each maisonette has a fully equipped kitchen with a complete set of silverware and cookware, a dining room and a sitting area with a fireplace, TV, and a couch. All dwellings have their private courtyard or balcony with traditional outdoor furniture. The reception area resembling a traditional coffee house serves tsikoudia, wine, herbs and local dishes. The layout of the apartment made it very functional for the stay. It is owned and run by a local and Samonas Traditional Settlement is small enough to where he can take the time to answer questions you may have about the area. He and his small staff go out of their way to ensure your stay is a pleasurable one. I would recommend this place to anyone and would love to come back for another visit some time. There was nothing that I didn't like about Samonas Traditional Settlement.

Τόσο ο εξωτερικός-περιβάλλων χώρος όσο και η εσωτερική διακόσμηση των δωματίων είναι πολύ προσεγμένα. Φαίνεται από την πρώτη κιόλας ματιά ότι έχει αφιερωθεί πολύς προσωπικός χρόνος και ότι έχει καταβληθεί κάθε προσπάθεια ώστε να διασωθεί η ουσία της κρητικής παράδοσης και φιλοξενίας. Τα δωμάτια έχουν κάθε είδους άνεση, είναι ευρύχωρα και ζεστά, με καλό προσανατολισμό και σε κάνουν να νιώσεις άμεσα σαν στο σπίτι σου. Στον εξωτερικό χώρο έχει αποκατασταθεί και διασωθεί με πολύ μεγάλη επιτυχία και με πολύ σεβασμό προς το περιβάλλον η παλιά αυθεντική εικόνα της γειτονιάς του χωριού, με τα στενά σοκάκια και τις εξωτερικές σκάλες ανάμεσα στα δωμάτια. Έχεις πραγματικά την αίσθηση σε διάφορες γωνιές του "οικισμού" ότι βρίσκεσαι στην παλιότερη εκείνη εποχή κατά την οποία αυτή η ομάδα οικημάτων ήταν μια πραγματική γειτονιά. Το μοντέρνο στοιχείο της πισίνας έχει ενταχθεί πολύ επιτυχημένα στο γενικότερο παραδοσιακό περιβάλλον και δεν δημιουργεί κάποιο αισθητικό πρόβλημα. Ίσως θα ήταν καλό να υπάρχει κάποιο παραδοσιακό εστιατόριο ή κάποιος χώρος έστω στον οποίο θα σερβίρονται τόσο το πρωινό όσο και διάφορα άλλα παραδοσιακά γεύματα. Επίσης, η πρόσοψη του ξενοδοχείου από τον δρόμο δεν είναι ιδιαίτερα προσεγμένη. Θα μπορούσε να υπάρχει μια καλύτερη και πιο ευδιάκριτη διαμόρφωση της εισόδου.

L'établissement Samonas Traditional Settlement offre un cadre charmant et des conditions de vie particulièrement agréables loin de la foule et des bruits du bord de mer. L'accueil y est personnalisé et le personnel est très attentif aux attentes des clients. Certaines prestations ne sont pas à la hauteur de la publicité faite sur le site : wifi, salle de bain.
