Very nice hotel with a lovely, truly greek design. Once again we’d like to thank all Scorpios team for a wonderful time in Monolithos. First of all I need to say that we were looking for a quiet place next to the beach. At the same time the island is so small, that you can easily get to any town or attraction. We rented a car for 3 days. Secondly, we didn’t want to spend this vacation in a hyped-up hotel full of Russian-speaking guys, who always need lavish breakfasts and make so much noise during the nights so you cannot even hear burking dogs..
The planes.. Yes, as I have already said the island is so small that you can here planes even from every part of the island, not only in Monolithos. Moreover, if you intend to stay in Kamari, take into account that the planes make a landing over this place. But I’ve never heard anything during the nights, and don’t worry; they fly over not so often.
But what we really appreciate at Scorpios is an individual approach. Great staff! The owners were incredibly kind and friendly. We were even granted a bottle of Santorini wine at parting.
Other pluses: hotel transfer to Fira and Kamari, reasonable prices, two wonderful taverns next to the hotel offering fresh fish and homemade wine, Monolithos beach is almost uninhabited + hotel’s sunbeds and umbrellas are free of charge, clean rooms (everyday cleaning and changing of towels, every third day they change bed linen).
What is interesting, and I was thinking about this during my holidays at Scorpios, when you’re not satisfied with how the staff treats you - they don’t smile, they are lazy and you don’t feel any support from their side, - you start making the photos of spots on the floor and flies on the table (even in a 5-star hotel). But when you are welcomed as an old friend.. Thank you, guys!
