The Sofia village is good deal price/quality. Sofia is always friendly and so is all the other staff. The pool is great for lounging , and if you are there for watching the sunset you can try one ( or more) of bartender Giorgios supercocktails with some nice music playing. we will go back !!

Sofia was lovely and had organised a free pick up from the airport for us. George the bar tender was amazing! He really makes Sofia village! Great drinks And music and he even ordered us food! Would highly recommend this hotel! It's not a compliant, however the massive hill u need to walk up from town Is a killer! But this would not pur me off staying here again.

Location is good with nice views - a 5-10minute walk down to Mykonos City. The room for 4 people was a good size, neat and clean. Nice pool area. The walk up the hill is a bit of a workout so make sure you ask for the free airport/ferry transfer.

The staff at this hotel were fantastic - extremely friendly and welcoming. The bar man 'George' was extremely friendly and full of information of which he was willing to share. The location is just slightly out of the main town, up a steap hill, but the view of the sea and the sunset from the outside hotel bar makes it worth it - stunning. The rooms are good size, fully equipped, tidy and clean. Free transfers to and from the port from the hotel as well!! All in all a very good stay and would reccomend this hotel to anyone who doesnt mind the walk up the hill!! (its good for the buttocks!!)

Immaculate rooms. Excellent pool. Friendly staff. Transfers very helpful and acceptable. Other guests respected the peace and quiet of the "village". We've stayed before and can thoroughly recommend it The apartments are situated quite a way from the old centre and harbours of Mykonos town - and it's a steep walk there and back. On the other hand it is convenient for the airport.

Sofias Village us in a great location, there is a steep walk from Mykonos back to the hotel, but thats good after you have just eaten and had a bottle of wine with dinner to walk off! The rooms are very spacious and spotless, serviced every day, Don't take any notice of what you read about Sofia, she is wonderful, a traditional hard working Greek lady who doesn't suffer fools gladly! Makes great donuts! George at the bar is great. Great spot, would return there tomorrow if I could!

George the bar man was the highlight of our stay at Sofia Village. He is the most funny guy with the kindest heart. The location of sofia village is fantastic. The town is just a 5 min walk and although it's on a rather steep hill, it is a great way to burn off dinner. I would definitely stay at Sofia village again and again.

Sofia was very nice, she picked us up at the port and helped us rent a bike to go around the island. The hotel is not extremely confortable but the location and the price make it ok. Be prepared to go up a steep road to get back to the hotel from Mykonos town.

The hospitality was amazing! Sofia is great and George (our bartender) is just awesome!!! Would recomend this place to all my friends. Please try the drink called "bloody George" - Pizza in a glass!!!! We stayed at a room that used to be a garage... maybe not as nice as all the pics from the hotel... we still had a blast though!

We are a family of 4 with teenagers 13 and 17, we loved the Sofia village, it was very relaxing by the pool, which was spotless. When we arrived (July 2011) their was a strong wind which was expected to last for a week, so we stayed by the pool, as we did not want to be sand blasted on the beaches. George who looks after the bar and most other things, was great, cool, calm and collect, but very efficient when asked to do anything. It's owned by Sofia, who was nice and helpfull and Panos her son picked us up from the port, which was unexpected and dropped us back to the port a few days later, which was nice also. (He would not take a tip), which was also suprising. The Sofia village was really comfortable and close to the town, which only took minutes to get to, down a hill with steps, kids raced up the steps no problem, us parents took a bit longer!!. Thanks for a very pleasant stay.

The quadruple room we stayed in was the largest of such rooms we experienced in Greece so far. However, the location was a bit inconvenient in that it is located up a hill and although it takes about 5-10 minutes to walk down, it takes longer to walk back up as it is quite steep and the walk is uncomfortable when it is blazing hot in the summer. Unfortunately, most of the restaurants are located at the bottom of the hill and only 1 or 2 are up the hill but seem to be on the expensive side. The pool area is nice and there are a lot of young people in early 20s so this place would appeal to that market more so than families. The location is not great when you have to walk uphill every time you return from town. It's too uncomfortable in the height of summer to be climbing a steep hill just to return from getting something to eat. You always have the option of ordering food from the hotel, which I didn't try, but it is a bit limiting. It would be more peaceful if there was not music played constantly at the pool, however, this seems to be a young adults place to stay. I would only recommend this place if I knew the person travelling fit into this market. I definitely would steer someone away if they're older.

Very friendly staff (Sofia and George were brilliant!), comfortable, clean room, and excellent value for money. The climb up the steep hill from Mykonos Town was a bit of a killer but apart from that it would be difficult to find fault with anything else.

“Pension Matina has a beautiful pool and lounge area that was amazing to have in the middle of Myknonos town. Definitely gives a nice option to going all the way out to the beach, and is open at night as well. The staff is very nice other than Matina herself, and they are willing to pick you up and drop you off at the port which is a huge help.” Cate, New York, Ny |
