The rooms are very dated, poorly equiped and badly painted, but we knew that from the reviews. E.g. the tv only had two channels, and you could not see them anyway because it was so bad. We stayed in other simple hotels where everything was very basic but didn't have this shabby feel like at Tempi. The aircon boxes just outside the windows would not let us sleep and the airconditionining inside was giving out such a horrible stale smell even after letting it run for hours, that we decided against using it because it seemed like it had not been cleaned for ages. We made a booking for a double room with a shared bathroom and a 4 year old child could stay free of charge, according to hotel's terms and conditions. On arrival we were given a twin room where beds could not just be put together as they had wide wooden edges and made it impossible to use them as a double bed. The hotel tried to please us and put in a baby cot but it was not a cot but a kind of a playpen for very small babies where a 4 year old obviously did not fit. The hotel insisted it was our fault we made that kind of booking, but they shouldn't have confirmed it then or should have offered another option upon booking, as other hotels do when they know the conditions are unsuitable for the clients. Not to mention that the room was tiwn, not double. We managed to fill the gap between the beds with some odd sheets as it was very hot but this was not the right way for the hotel to deal with the issue. Glad we only had to stay 2 nights. Wifi worked very erratically.
The location in the centre of Athens and closeness to metro is unbeatable. Apart from that, the metro from Monstiraki connects directly with the airport. The attention of the staff.
