A short walk from the Acropolis, 5-star Royal Olympic Hotel is centrally located near the picturesque Plaka neighborhood. The luxurious rooms overlook Zeus’s Temple, or the swimming pool garden.

Centrally located in Syntagma Square in Athens, the Amalia Hotel is right across from the National Gardens. It features comfortable rooms with satellite and pay-per-view TV, and Wi-Fi internet access....

Right next to Monastiraki Metro Station, A for Athens features a rooftop bar with a stunning view of the Acropolis. Nightlife districts of Psirri, Monastiraki and Plaka are a 5 minute walk away.

Hotel Amazon is in a great location in the heart of Athens, within walking distance of the major archaeological sites and Syntagma Metro Station.
Score from 1098 reviews Very good
Location of the hotel was perfect to get to all the sites + restaurants in the evening and also close to the underground station. Excellent roof top bar for evening drinks and then for breakfast. Look no further if you are planning a weekend in Athens!
Did not stay long enough
Evening staff were excellent, Christopher was very helpful, location was good, breakfast was a good selection of food.
Some of the staff were a little rude particularly young thin waiter in breakfast room. Doorman with beard a little rude
My husband's favorite hotel in Europe! Amazing breakfast buffet with great waitstaff Comfortable, quiet room with great views! Great facilities! Professional reception and concierge staff! Wonderful location!!
The hotel was such a positive experience, especially considering it's price. Cosy room, good breakfast in the roof restaurant with stunning views all around, location could not be more central! We had a cheaper room option with a window looking inside the hotel building itself but we didn't consider it as disadvantage, as no street traffic noise at all was to hear. And the staff guys were even pleasant enough to open the bar in the middle of the night and give us a bottle of champagne, we really needed in connection with the totally unexpected victory of our soccer team! Next time in Athens, we surely stay here again!
Wi Fi in the room was not included in price and you had to pay extra for it - but it's speed was excellent, as everything else in this hotel.
Location, free upgrade offered, great view from the rooftop restaurant
The room we were originally offered (interior budget room or something along like it) had a peculiar smell and terrible view of an internal shaft. Since the hotel was not fully occupied, we were immediately offered upon request. The restaurant is somewhat pricey at dinner times.
Staff, comfort, view from rooftop, everything is at a walking distance
Views from roof garden restaurant are spectacular and hotel is only a short walk from Acropolis. Staff were generally helpful, particularly the evening staff in restaurant and the front desk.
Air conditioning would not go lower than 20c which meant switching off and opening patio doors to get to sleep - result, insect bites on exposed arms. Ran out of breakfast tea (black) for several days, Had to buy some from convenience store.
The perfect location. Clean, very comfortable rooms. Good breakfast with the ultimate view of the city. Staff very efficient and really welcoming. If I visited Athens again, I wouldn't bother looking for an alternative. This place is great, highly recommended.
Athens Gate Hotel is walking distance to all the best sites in Athens. We had originally thought that we'd buy the multi-day metro pass but never needed to. On foot there is so much more to discover in Athens. The hotel is also just a block away from the public bus stop to Sounio to see Poseidon's Temple. The breakfast is served on the roof garden with astonishing views of the Temple of Zeus and the Acropolis. We highly recommend Athen's Gate Hotel!
The only downside to the Athens Gate Hotel is that it is located on a very busy street with traffic all night. If you want to sleep with your windows open, then you'd be better on the backside of the hotel. However, then your room wouldn't overlook the Temple Zeus. We kept our windows closed so that we could enjoy the incredible view. The air conditioning system is very effective and extremely quiet, so we were able to cool our room down in the evening to a comfortable sleeping temperature.
The hotel was well located for the Acropolis and museum and for the Plaka district. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. Excellent breakfast and comfortable beds.
We stayed in a room on the 6th floor facing the Temple of Zeus and, as the hotel is situated on one of Athens busy main roads, the road noise was not intrusive. However on lower floors this might be a problem. Rooms at the rear are obviously quieter.
Excellent location for the Acropolis, Temple of Zeus and The Plaka
Lots of traffic noise so unable to sleep with window open
Good hotel, with friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. Tasty breakfast, served on rooftop terrace, with amazing views. The location make this hotel excellent - close walking distance to all monuments.
Rooms do not have tea/coffee making facilities, and there are no chairs on the balcony.
comfort and facilities
room too noisy
Amazing views and HUGE balcony! The staff was so wonderful and gave great tips. The breakfast was wonderful!
Everything was very good ,the very nice welcome and the help from John a mine of information. A very good hotel for all the Sights and very close to Plaka, but watch out when you are in the Area.
only slight problem was nobody told you about how to log on to the internet in the restaurant and bar, I had to get a member of staff to give me the code to log on.
Great location and views of Acropolis from roof top at breakfast. Nice room let down by lack of aircon (no cooling - heating only) and position next to busy road so that leaving the window open wasn't an option.
Good location and friendly staff. Great view from the windows and from the restaurant.
No free wi-fi in the room.
The best thing about the hotel is the location and the view - Acropolis on one side, Temple of Zeus on the other. You are right in the centre, with easy access to all transport, museums and attractions. There are shops and restaurants nearby and the area is pretty safe.
If you are unfortunate enough to get a front of the hotel room, you will not sleep well at all. The noise from the street is a big problem, despite solid windows. On saturday night there is a traffic jam outside the hotel until the early hours of the morning. Also some of the waiters at the restaurant seem to resent the fact that they have to work at all.
The room had a fantastic view over the Temple of Zeus, the main restaurant on the 10th floor gives one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen, in fact on both sides you can see the Temples Of Zeus and the magnificent Parthenon on the Acropolis, the breakfast was quite good, the staff very kind and extremely helpful.
Although the breakfast was quiet good, in my opinion it lack of some more variety and dinner at the main restaurant is quiet expensive. eg. a normal salad costs 12-13 euros!
The roof top restaurant view and the proximity to Plaka
Not having wifi in the room.
Very nice location with a 360 degrees top view of Acropolis, temple of Zeus and Mt. Lycabettus. Room is enough for two, comfortable bed with nice air-conditioning and basic facilities. Toilet is clean, nice. Room service is quick. Desk reception staff are very courteous. Opened the doors for us, and assisted us well on our luggage.Room decoration and choice of furnitures is nice.
For a 4 star hotel, I think I could expected more. The Wifi should definitely be included in the bill, not paid separately. The breakfast we find quite basic, for a four star, I could have expected more variety of food, fresh fruits, omelet, juices, yogurts, or even a waffle.. For the room, I expected a very nice balcony view, but we were given with a view of absolutely nothing to see except the other building. Also, a must have would been a nice dresser with a large mirror for me to sit and put my make up on. Also the iron and iron board should have been included in the room, and more hangers to hang up clothes. It is very limited. I would have to go down a bit to 3 star because of these.
1.My bedroom balcony having a direct view of the Acropolis. 2.The roof top restaurant for breakfast/evening meal, had views of either the Acropolis or the Temple Of Zeus.Food quality really good too. 3. The Hotel was located within walking distances of all the classical sites, and only a short strole to the metro station. 4.All the staff were v friendly and spoke v good English. Reception staff were also excellent sources for advice to plan your travels and trips.. 5.Room facilities were excellent.Beds comfortable and no noise from doors slamming, corridors had carpets- so no sound of internal traffic.
Wifi signal was a bit variable in the communal areas. But the Hotel had 2 desk tops in the Bar. Both for free use by the guests.A Great stay in a great place, with great people
The location and view were superb.
The room (704) was small for the amount charged.
loved our view of the Temple of Zeus; staff were exceptional ; location great; good breakfast; would highly recommend it
only small down side was the bathroom; the toilet was a tight squeeze behind the door.
The view from the roof terrace is incredible. Dinner was only okay. Have a drink but skip dinner.
