The Ixian GrandIxia Beach, 85101 Ixiá (Show map) Good, Score from 291 reviews“What I did like most about the hotel is its location. Most of the hotels in Rhodes are located across the road from the beach. This is one of the few hotels that was located on the same side. In fact, from our suites it was about 50 meters to the sea. Also, the shared swimming pool is very good if you are staying in the grand suite.”

This magnificent beachfront resort hotel offers large outdoor pools with views of the sea and jacuzzi. The proud member of Great Hotels of the World is just minutes from the Medieval City of Rhodes. The Ixian Grand features contemporary rooms, as well as luxurious suites with private pools, surrounded by landscaped grounds. Room rates include an American buffet-style breakfast. Guests may enjoy excellent Mediterranean cuisine and traditional Greek dishes at the poolside restaurant. The bar serves drinks and offers relaxing music with live performance twice weekly. The nearby Filerimos Hill and ancient city of Ialysos provide plenty of sightseeing opportunities for those wishing to explore Rhodes Island. Hotel Rooms: 280

Well it is near to the sea..and you can have sea view from some of the rooms Wireless Internet is so slow that you can not even check your emails...There is no water heater in rooms and if you want to drink some tea, coffee you have to pay for it! Rooms were not clean,They don't clean the ground. They only tidy your sheets..thats the only cleaning they do..When you ask some stuff to workers, they reply late and they are really not friendly..Also rooms are cold at nights..They should know that Rhodes is not a tropical island so it can also be cold..They serve the same breakfast everyday and i can not say that its tasty

Stayed for 10 Days at end of September. Hotel was busy and seems popular. Food was very good, beach facilities and pools were lovely. Staff mostly pleasant and room was clean and spacey with a wonderful view. Probably a good 4* by Global standards, but 5* by Greek standards. I would give this Hotel 8/10 and I would stay there again.

The location is very good, as expected. By the sea, not too far from Rodos but out of the main maiham. generaly the design and location is fantastic, lots of water, different type of accomodation. our elders had their own garden front/road front superior double room room, my wife and younger daughter had the Suite with private pool. nice, quite .(although not so private, you are not comletely separated from your immediate neighbours, so honeymooners: you are warned) sea front pools are large and clean, the beach is right in front of the pools and great for sea lovers. The design and potential are there but at the end of the day this is not a breal 5* luxury hotel. maintenance is poor, the rooms are not as clean as you should expect ,especialy with an upgraded rooms, some of the features are run down and not cared for (in the superior room the door wouldnt shut), small amenities such as sleepers are absent, television small and specialy disappointing: internet is not available in the rooms, not free and not for a charge. most of all, the staff: very polite and quite efficient at the pools and restaurants, NOT helpful, NOT polite, even tend to be over agressive at the front desk (especialy and surprisingely the female staff), and service at the main breakfast hall inefficient . they might be overwhelmed with the huge number of guests at this summer time, but being a summer holiday resort they should expect it. room service slow and forgetfull. bottom line: we would recomend the hotel, but lower your expectations, as this may be the service situation generaly in Rodos. the location and pools and seaside are a great plus.

Grand Suite with private pool was fantastic - I didn't use the main pool at all while we were there and happy not to with lots of kids in there! The restaurants were great, breakfast was very good and hotel staff were very helpful. Love the modern fit out of the suite and room rates were very reasonable. Housekeeping do not observe the signs (in particular the "do not disturb" sign) and they have a separate person to check mini bar. With a private pool, you spend a lot of time in your own suite so it would be nice not to have to have multiple people interrupting the relaxation than necessary (and more so if you have the do not disturb sign on). One other thing is, might be worth considering perspex or glass walls for the suites on higher levels as we experienced people playing "games" in their pool and their pool water would splash all over our sunbeds as we lay in them. These are only very minor complaints, I really enjoyed our stay and I would happily stay again!

The breakfast buffet was very eclectic. The beach is beautiful as well as the hotel pool. The hotel beach bar has a wide variety of drinks and the beach cafe serves very tasty food. The hotel staff seems very limited. It took about 30 minutes to check in because of this. The hotel staff is very inconsiderate and seems to have zero customer service skills. We asked for a bucket of ice and some wine glasses to our room. We were told no to the wine glasses and when the server delivered our bucket of ice he acted extremely put out. The beach bar tender was extremely rude when we asked for pool towels. She eventually turned us away and told us "I can't do anything for you." Because A. we did not have a special towel card (even though we were staying in the grand suite and B. we should have brought the towels from our room if we wanted to exchange them. She was in no way helpful. I mean she didn't even offer to help or get us cards or simply give us towels and make a note of our suite.

Being right on the beach ... even thought it is not a sand beach - breakfast: food was not good, stained bench, unfinished decor - poor quality bed mattress - stained / burned towels-bedsheets-bedcover - unclean floors in restaurant ; dirty glasses/plates/forks etc. - the building itself with unfinished details, poorly renovated tiles, bathroom, etc.

Seawiev was beautiful both daytimes and nighttimes. Location was excellent for our purposes which was not city holiday. Personnel were not very kind for us. Nothing extra could be done. Everything took a lot of time, days! Breakfast was too similar every day although it was very rich. Sheet were not changed our 11 days stay.

What I did like most about the hotel is its location. Most of the hotels in Rhodes are located across the road from the beach. This is one of the few hotels that was located on the same side. In fact, from our suites it was about 50 meters to the sea. Also, the shared swimming pool is very good if you are staying in the grand suite. We run into enourmous number of problems with reservations while staying there. First of all, my room was not ready by the time I have arrived and was not going to be ready until the next day. I was compensated for the price difference though. Secondly, and what made me mad about this hotel is that they have this bungalows with 2 floors and a swimming pool on roof that have 2 rooms in it. One on ground floor was with access to shared swimming pool (the one on all photos for grand suite) and the other one, on second floor, does not have acces and provides access to the swimming pool on the roof of the house which is about 1,5m x 2m size. Basically, ground floor rooms are MUCH better. Hotel calls both rooms one type - Grand suite and provides pictures of the ground floor room only. When arrived, we were put in this other room and that was a shock to us as we were with a baby and elderly parents. After 2 days of very intensive argueing with the reservations staff we were able to change the room to the ground floor ones. Note that for grand suite you should stay in 401, 403, 405 etc and not in 402, 404 etc. Rest of the staff was very helpful and kind. Big thanks to them all for making our stay better.

We had a Suite Grand with private pool. Room was huge and had sleeping facilities on first floor. Bathroom with jacuzzi, toilet and terrasse. Groundfloor had toilet and a big livingroom. Sliding door to terrasse with sunbeds and private poolarea. Public poolarea had a fantastic poolbar with serviceminded people working there. We will specially mention Irina, that made sure that all the customers had everything they wanted all the time :-) As a suiteguest we had free wifi, and a separeate brekfastlounge. Hopefully we will be back next year

The room is spacious and clean This hotel is a tourist trap. The general feel is that of a hospital. Staff is polite but not friendly. The sea view is not very inspiring. To many people packed on a green lawn around the swimming pool. Food in the pool side restaurant is over priced. The pita bread served with the gyros could serve as a shoe sole. You can eat much better and cheaper anywhere else. On the rooftop are a set of cooling ventilators that distribute a noise as if there is an airplane warming up the engines in the neighbourhood. This noise is heard everywhere in the outside area and is really terrible; After traveling around in greece for 16 days, we expected something special from this hotel, judging from the pics, But this was the most expensive and the worst hotel. Don't go there unless you have the brain of Paris Hilton, the taste of Hyacint Bucket, and enough money to spend. Nothing to do with greece at all ! We ran after one night.

the design of the hotel, the suites with private pools, the sea water pool, the location - on the beach close to the center and the airport that I wasn't given the type of room I have booked, even though I was upgraded to maisonette with private pool...I really preferred the grand suites because of the lay out of the room and bigger pools. I would've appreciated to be informed in advance about this change.

The only thing I liked about Ixian Grand is the bed size and bed comfort. What I didn't like: very old towels, over used, quite grey color and worn out, not sleeperies and sanitary sets in room, breakfast of low quality, broken chaise-longs on the beach and pool, plastic chairs in the balcony, hotel bars were selling glass of ice at 1 euro per glass. Hotel photos in the web are totally misleading in comparison to what you find out when you visit it. As a conclusion, Ixian is a 5 star hotel with services of a 3 star hotel.

We booked the "Grand Maisonette with Private Pool" and it was a nice, well furnished and well equipped suite. The room had a good jacuzzi bath tub and there were bathrobes. The hotel has direct access to the beach and free beach umbrellas and sun beds. There is a special restaurant only serving breakfast to those staying in the Grand Suits where the breakfast was really good (excellent omelettes and fresh orange juice). We really liked the shampoo provided (from a Greek brand - we even bought some before leaving Greece!) Staying at this hotel you do not feel to be in a luxurious 5-star hotel as it claims to be. The staff is generally not nice (especially at the reception) and there is no policy about being at the client's disposal as it is usually the case in a 5-star hotel. The main restaurant has a strict policy on men having to wear long trousers and we were turned away rather unpleasantly on our first day in the hotel! In the buffet restaurant we had to insist to be charged on our bill rather than pay in cash... Moreover, while we were eating someone from the restaurant was sitting at a table counting the cash! As for our room ("Grand Maisonette with Private Pool"): 1 - No sea view; 2 - Very small pool; 3 - No privacy in private pool or balcony area (almost shared with adjacent room); 4 - The bathroom and toilet on the first floor (i.e. next to the bedroom) had no door! 5 - No lift to reach the floor where our room was. 6 - Our private pool was dirty and out of order on our last day.

First of all is not a 5 star hotels. The small amenities (bag for laundries, towels of various sizes, slippers) were not enough for 3 people as we have booked the maissonete for 3 people. There is no room service after 22.00 where we called for bottles of water. The plumping system in the shower was very bad. No blankets in the room. The staff in the front desk was not so capable. Staff in restaurants and pool very polite.
