I didn't like the rooms. They were humid. Wi-fi was not working. It didn't have a place to cook. There's no control over the noise from the bar.
I set up this reservation for my daughter and her friend. Booking.com required a credit card to guarantee the room. When my daughter got there then wanted 3% more to use her credit card. I would understand, but there was no mention of this in booking.com or at the time of the reservation. I wanted her to use her credit card so she wouldn't have to carry a lot of cash. I would like to know the policy. When using booking.com. I got there a couple of day later and the girl at the desk didn't not want to take a credit card.
The hostel is in the middle of plaka, but a little far from metro station. The price is fine, and there are many restaurants outside. It's interesting that the air condition won't work unless the window be closed very well. Breakfast is good, although need to be waiting 15 minutes.
It took us a very long time to find the hostel from metro station. The room is near escape stairs, so very noisy, and there's a escape door on the wall, always afraid there's some people outside open the door. The blanket is so dirty!!!!!!
Receptionist was almost rude the first time I called to check if my booking had gone through correctly. Then we found that when we came to check in three days later the three bed room with ensuiye was not available! It was ok to have an alternative but a bit disappointing
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was amazing, they couldn't do enough for you.
The bar wasn't manned so you couldn't get a drink only a beer from reception.
Great location, good breakfast selection, (extra cost) but the price for room was extremely reasonable so one doesn't mind paying for breakfast. Cleanliness! Exceptional!!
The bed was a low one, difficult to get in and out of, for us "older" folk, but fine for young ones.
I have stayed in hostels all over the world and for value and comfort this was possibly the worst. A creaky air conditioner that you couldn't change the temp of., a cramped room -- even by NYC standards, a blanket with u-know-what stains, a shower that didn't work, meanwhile i moved - for the same price to the Acropolis hotel, 2 blocks away, one of the best hotels ever. Hostels like this are not about good value, they take advantage of young people and milk their naiveté. do not stay here.
Excelent location. Check it!
Noisy people and people making noise trying to stop the former.
The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent.
Wifi wouldn't work if you were in your room, you had to go to the hallway to get signal. There was no furniture where you could put or hang your clothes or luggage, just one bedside table.
