Noise from the restaurant/bar
Location, view was fantastic
Room window was right on the street, couldn't keep curtains open because pedestrians could see u inside the room.
Restaurant was amazing
Lack of utilities. They ran out of shampoo. Very bad wifi. No 24 hour reception. And its not the staff's fault. Its the management's fault
The staff were very friendly
WIFI SIGNAL WAS NOT STRONG EVERYWHERE
This was the worst hotel experience of my life. When returning to the hotel at night, everything was locked down. It was late and freezing, and we banged on the doors and called the phone (which we could here ringing inside) for a full hour before someone opened. At that time of night we had nowhere to go, and our things were in our room. We were only in Athens for one night, and it was completely destroyed because they locked us out in the cold. While we probably should have asked for our money back, I was so frustrated in the morning that I couldn't even look at the guy in charge. Basically, like others have mentioned, this is not a hotel. There are two rooms on the second floor of a building that hosts a cafe/bar, and nobody seems to actually consider themselves to work for the "hotel". The man who is there at night was in the basement, apparently asleep, even though he said he was aware that we had gone out. Other issues: We were asked to pay on arrival, after having been told that the card I had provided for Reservation Only (not to be charged) "did not work", which must mean they had tried to charge it. The room was dusty, but not to the point where it was disgusting.
The location, the look of the room, the view, the comfortable bed. They also gave us a late check out, as they had no reservations for the next day.
We were only slightly above ground floor so people passing by on the street could see into our room, but we didn't want to shut the curtains because the view was so great.
The bed was large and one wall was all window and had a view of the Acropolis. The rooftop patio is also very beautiful. Another thing that is noteworthy is that this doesn't seem to actually be a hotel. It is a large restaurant and it looks like they had some space in the back so they renovated it into 2-3 rooms that they are renting out. We had to come and go through the staff area.
The WiFi in the connected restaurant worked but not in the room. It's just not set up for the rooms.
The view was incredible and the room very nice.
Not as good as it looks on the pics!
Amazing location,View, food.Everything is just five minutes walk around you. Friendly staff. Clean and quiet place.
We weren't made very welcome on arrival. The room was adequate if you were paying hostel prices. T.V. faulty, and in other reviews this has been pointed out. Wifi absolutely useless, likewise previously writen about. No shampoo, no flannel. Final insult was we had to make our own bed before we could retire that night. Would never recommend to friend.
Their was no doubt that the view was awesome and thats what your paying for.
The personnel lockers the door during night and there is only one person with the keys. I was 40 minutes late in my professional meeting as I was locked in and unable to find the responsible person. Also this rises the issues of fire safety.
The room was clean and tidy. The location is good although a bit noisy
everything is in walking distance and the view is priceless
The "hotel" is really the back rooms of the bar/restaurant. The entrance is through the back of the bar.
The location was perfect. Close to all the cafes and restaurants and lots of action outside.
I was a little bewildered by the check in desk which was located near the pantry to the hotel kitchen. My room was through the pantry up a back stair. There was a side entry to the building that would have been less intrusive but it was always locked.
The staff was very friendly. I was greeted with a free espresso while I waited to check in. I was only there for one night but was sent of with a free breakfast omelet. The location is near the Thissio metro station and once I got my bearings was able to walk to the many shops and restaurants along Ermou Street.
TV reception was poor with most channels dropping out. Getting to our room involved passing through a heavy door behind the bar into a narrow foyer then up the stairs. Difficult to negotiate with luggage. There is a proper glass door entrance for hotel patrons but this was permanently locked. Toilet and shower were not clean on our arrival. Had to get management to organise cleaner to clean.
Location is excellent. Easy walking distance to most major attractions around Athens.
The hotel is more for there amazing food and fantastic views. I would return again Thank you, Desiree and Dustin
When I travel on business or for leisure, I am most interested in having a convenient location, and good clean, comfortable place to stay. This hotel is perfect in those regards. I look forward to staying here again.
We think our room was not legal, without room number and telephone. No cleaning of the room after first night. Breakfast very poor and expensive. View from the roof overwhelming!
A bit noisy at night but to live with.
Excellent location, close to the Thissio metro station and Acropolis as well as a wonderful view to Acropolis from the room. Staff very friendly and helpful, the room and the place had a nice design - looked newly refurbished. It could be difficult to find - it is a couple of rooms on the second floor over the bar.
There was no lift to room. No baby crib available. No breakfast bufet.
Amazing view of the Acropolis and excellent location.
Thisio hotel cannot be called a hotel. basically the owners have a lovely bar/cafe, and in addition they rent rooms. Thisio has potential, but the personnel is not prepared to handle a hotel. A good place where to drop your belongings while you roam around Athens, but not a hotel. I am sorry, but I will not come back here in the future.
Location and view of the Acropolis at night, unbelievable! Room is clean
The noise of the restaurant, which I was unaware of, when booking.
