This was the worst hotel experience of my life. When returning to the hotel at night, everything was locked down. It was late and freezing, and we banged on the doors and called the phone (which we could here ringing inside) for a full hour before someone opened. At that time of night we had nowhere to go, and our things were in our room. We were only in Athens for one night, and it was completely destroyed because they locked us out in the cold. While we probably should have asked for our money back, I was so frustrated in the morning that I couldn't even look at the guy in charge. Basically, like others have mentioned, this is not a hotel. There are two rooms on the second floor of a building that hosts a cafe/bar, and nobody seems to actually consider themselves to work for the "hotel". The man who is there at night was in the basement, apparently asleep, even though he said he was aware that we had gone out. Other issues: We were asked to pay on arrival, after having been told that the card I had provided for Reservation Only (not to be charged) "did not work", which must mean they had tried to charge it. The room was dusty, but not to the point where it was disgusting.
The location, the look of the room, the view, the comfortable bed. They also gave us a late check out, as they had no reservations for the next day.
