The wifi was pretty much non existent in our room, but it worked perfectly elsewhere in the hotel. It wasn't really a problem because we were there to relax!
When we arrived at Vagia Hotel via taxi from the main port in Aegina Town, we were greeted by the fabulous Notis, who offered to help with our bags and showed us up onto the lovely porch where he offered us a drink and some of the famous orange cake I have heard so much about. The cake is worth travelling for indeed! We stayed on the top floor of the annex, which had a gorgeous view overlooking the ocean, and a wonderful breeze sweeping through our room, which was quite large and very bright and airy. The bathroom was small, but clean. The beach is less than a 5 minute walk away with free sunbeds and umbrellas. Notis also helped with any enquiry we had, even giving me written directions to walk up to the temple of aphaea, and arranging for a taxi when we decided to go into town for the evening. He gave us a list of places to go to, one being a taverna where his brother worked, so obviously we went there, and his brother was just as lovely and hospitable, he introduced us to a family friend, who then took us out to see a bouzoukia band, and we had a fabulous evening. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfasts are honestly amazing. Everything fresh and cooked with love. Maria is such a warm and friendly hostess and her orange cake is truly delicious. There are a number of little spots around the hotel where you can sit and read a book, or have a drink, such a delightful setting. The hospitality of this place is amazing, it really made me feel at home, and I can not wait to return! I was sad to leave after only 2 nights! I highly recommend this place to everyone.
