Just 50 metres from the centre of Fira in Santorini Island, Porto Carra features a sun terrace with a panoramic view of the Caldera.
Score from 90 reviews Good
This stylish villa complex in Oia offers cave-style accommodation with a communal 4-person hot tub and panoramic view of the caldera and the volcano. It is 10 minutes’ walk from the town centre.
Score from 197 reviews Wonderful
On the top of the Santorini caldera, close to Oia’s main street, the whitewashed Alexander's Boutique Hotel has traditional, cave-style accommodations.
Score from 273 reviews Very good
In the center of Oia, Caldera Villas overlook the volcano and feature a swimming pool and accommodations with Cycladic décor. Room balconies offer caldera and Aegean Sea views.
Score from 258 reviews Good
Good locality for walking round Fira and accessing transport if required. Helpful staff who went the extra mile to make our stay special.
Good service. Friendly, obliging staff who were very helpful accommodating our late evening departure. Ten minute walk to square. Lovely pool area and clean facilities.
Room was quite small and bed legs stuck out so we had a number of stubbed toes. Shower space on the small side.
We stayed here as a big family group as my son was getting married nearby. Nothing was too much trouble for Chris including pick ups and drop offs of all of my family at various times. Extremely friendly staff who looked after us all and made this a really fabulous time for my family. Made a special fuss of the bride and groom. Adrianna looked after all of us every morning for breakfast and then cleaned up after all of us and kept our rooms beautiful - a very hard worker who always smiled. We are so grateful to Evgenia Villas and highly recommend it to everyone as a really fantastic place to stay. Thank you all again!!!
really difficult to find anything i didn't like - perhaps the wifi but believe this is a Santorini issue.
Cleanliness Close to town
We arrived at a hotel that wasn't what we had expected. Evgenia is definitely photographed well online to look a lot larger than it is. We had to wait 2 hours to check in to our room. We had booked a "ocean view" suite 10 months prior to our visit, and when we finally checked in, we were shown to our small room to the edge of the hotel, overlooking another hotel and the driveway. The owner was apologetic however he didn't take ownership of the mistake. We were then given another room after asking for a refund, which overlooked the pool, but obviously was not what we had booked/paid for. Pool is very small. No atmosphere/pool bar area.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, spacious and modern room with balcony, was picked up from the port by the owner, short walk into the main town of Fira - very convenient location.
Only downside was the shower didn't have a screen or a nozzle that was attached to the wall.
Staff helpful and friendly, free airport transfer.
It just missed that personal touch of someone who'd put love into the place or thought things through from a travellers' perspective: no towel rails or shelves to put anything in the bathroom, four coat hangers for a double room, the fridge door can't be opened without scratching the hinges of the cupboard, safe impossible to unlock and should be replaced, too much hair and dust left under bed to indicate thorough clean. Strong smell of sewage on bathroom.
I have never found staff so friendly and accommodating. From the young lady that cleaned our room and served breakfast, to Chris the manager, everyone was there to help you and always with a smile. The position is good, with a short walk to Fira. We had a 2 room suite and it was very comfortable and spotless. Would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel
Chris was awesome. He was a great host and hotel manager. He took 5 minutes after check-in to show me a map of where everything was and his recommendations of what we should see in the 2 days we had on the island. He even took us to the airport (just let him know at least 1 day before you leave). Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful. Our suite was a good size with a place to sit and dine, and a separate bedroom. Both areas had 15-inch flat screen TVs. There is a mini-bar/fridge in our suite that was good for storing snacks and water. We also had a balcony that looks out to the horizon - opposite the Caldera, but still a nice view. The pool area is a good size for the property, and the water is cool so you can get some relief from the heat. There is a pool house for breakfast and snacks, but we didn't spend a lot of time there. The hotel is a 10 minute walk uphill from the main part of Fira where all of the action is. We rented an ATV so we only had to walk uphill a couple of times.
The bathroom was a decent size, but there was no shower curtain so you have to be really careful with the spray or else you'll be rinsing off the entire bathroom like we did the first time we used it.
The hotel provided pickup and drop off which was super helpful! The room was small, but very clean, and had some nice touches, like slippers and a fridge. They had a few items for sale in the fridge, but left enough space to add your own items - which was a nice touch. The pool area is very clean and well stocked with towels and chairs.
The room was very small, and had no view! The safe was not installed properly, so it didn't really provide any security.
The transfers from the airport and to the port were really helpful, the staff were really friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable.
I cannot think of anything we did not like about Evgenia.
So close to Fira--so much to do and see! Gave us a ride to the airport--very friendly and informative.
Weak wifi. Hard to connect (if at all).
We were made to feel welcome by our host immediately. The young fellow was helpful in every way. Room had great views and breakfast was great value at 5 euro with amazing views over the island.
Would have given Evgenia 100% but there was a strong smell from bathroom upon entering room. I think plumbing seems to be a common problem on the island. Not having a shower screen or curtain was annoying as impossible not to wet the rest of the bathroom.
nice swimming pool fantastic breakfast friendly staff
price is a little bit high breakfast is not for free
The staff was amazing; Chris ( the manager) treated every guest as his own personal guest. Adrianna always had a smile and was such a wonderful hostess. They made us feel at home and made our vacation in Santorini wonderful.
The hotel provided good communication before check-in, the rooms were clean, and the room rate was ok. Upon checking in, George provided adequate information for things to do on the island (all the while trying to get us to use his friends companies, more on that below) and the complimentary shuttle service is good (assuming they actually pick you up, again more on that below).
On the day of our arrival, I emailed Evgenia hotel that our flight from Athens to Santorini had been delayed approximately an hour. Upon landing, roughly two hours after emailing Evgenia, I had not received a reply and there was no hotel shuttle outside of the airport. We used two different cell phones to call Evgenia and no one answered and you couldn’t leave a voicemail. We hired a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and upon arriving at the hotel George, the hotel manager, was sitting a few feet outside of the reception area talking to friends as opposed to replying to the email I sent hours ago or responding to the missed calls (he was within earshot of the phone ringing). George made no comment about my email regarding the shuttle or the fact that the shuttle hadn’t picked us up from the airport when we checked in. An Evgenia employee finally responded to my email around midnight stating they were “busy” and could not pick us up from the airport. Upon checking in, George pressured us to cancel the hotel reservation that I made through Booking.com and instead to book the reservation directly through him, which would include free breakfast. He stated breakfast was 10EUR even though the recent reviews online stated breakfast was 5EUR. Much to George’s annoyance, we did not cancel the reservation with Booking.com, since we felt Booking.com deserved to be paid for the service they provided. If it were not for Booking.com, I would not be at Evgenia hotel. On a side note, the breakfast may be worth 5EUR but it is definitely not worth 10EUR. Moments after being pressured to cancel the hotel reservation with Booking.com, George asks us if we were going to go sailing. I told George we already had a sailing reservation… big mistake and I should have kept my mouth shut. George then proceeded to pressure us to cancel our sailing reservation since the company his friend owns is “better.
The staff were very helpful and friendly beautiful pool and clean rooms
The bedroom was too small and not great value for money because of the size. The bed and pillows were too hard.
Chris at reception was very friendly, welcoming, and with great restaurant recommendations. Big comfortable bed. Easy walk to Fira town.
Pillows were hard and uncomfortable.
The hospitality we received was absolutely superb. We were greeted at the port and transferred to the hotel my the manager who gave us local and knowledgeable advice on how to make the most of our stay on Santorini re tours and restaurants. We were able to fit so much in our few days on the island because of this and to see the real Santorini with tips for the best sunset views and quiet beach spots. The accommodation was picture perfect and most importantly - clean. The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from the main village of Fira.
Great staff, they were so friendly and kind and accomodating to my needs. Chris was freaking awesome and recommended some great tours that made my trip so memorable. The location of the hotel is so close to everything - central bus stop, mini mart, fira town center. Room is clean, new and very comfortable. Pool area is great too.
Breakfast could have more variety.
Staff were beyond and above helpful- Chris recommended good restaurants & attractions, Chris' girlfriend, the cleaner, was very thorough and the room was pristine, lovely pool and rooms were very nice, great location
The hotel was next to another that backed onto each other, no sea view, be careful of the quad bike ppl
- staff - food - location
Geroge was excellent in explaining everything to us and was very helpful on providing the best places to eat and how to get around.
The pool was a bit small if you're looking for a place to stay and swim.
very chilled atmosphere, staff were really helpful. Good sized room and shower.
Pool and breakfast room were a bit small.
staff there are friendly. When we checked in at the reception we had some free ice cream.
We booked a Superior Suite. But what we actually lived is totally different from the pictures at the website. No sea view or pool view at all. The room is very small no windows and the sheet is not clear. That was definitely not a Superior Suite! After they charged our room fare one month later, they tried to charge our again. Then we called the Booking customer service. After several phone calls it turned out that it was a mistake by the hotel, they got the wrong person. When we went to Santorini at the reception talking about that. Staff just replied to us "really?", and few minutes later staff said "another person had the same name". Then nothing else no sorry no anything. Everything is so uncomfortable and we will definitely not come again.
I like the room condition and it was clean and nice. The location is quite close to the city center and easily can get founded. Also, staffs were friendly and kind so they drove us to the airport. The pool was not that big but enough spacious to swim and clean as well.
We checked in 11 a.m. but we cannot get a second floor room. If we stayed in the second floor, it would be far much better than the first one.
