The owners where lovely people The hotel is very clean and bright
The room is very big and comfortable. There are kitchen(plate, cup, fork, fridge and so on) , bad room and balcony in the room and you also can swimmen in their pool. The location is also gut, we walked about 15 minutes to Fira and it was fun to talk with friends when you were walking. The staff was very friendly and even though they don't speak a lot of English. This hotel is clean, relaxing and cozy. They also drove us to Fira bus station to catch the bus to ferry port after we checked out. Everything is perfect. strongly recommend!
Sorry have to leave
The owners were lovely - was waiting at the port for us and made us feel very welcome. Villa absotutely beautiful - very clean and can see they take pride in looking after their villa and guests 15 min walk to fira. Area nice with shops and reataurants close by. Pool lovely. Huge room with balcony and view.
Sorry to leave
- Very friendly and polite couple takes care of the place, but the lady only speak a few words in English; - Staff provided us with good information about the island and what to do in where to go; - Nice pool!
- Unconfortable bed; - It can be noisy depending who's staying in the other rooms (two nights in a row we where woken up by people arriving at 3/4am slamming doors and talking loudly).
Clean and tidy room and was great for the price travelling as a group of three. When we arrived at around 6pm there was no one to be found and there is no obvious "reception" area until we were greeted by a little mama from around the corner and showed us our room. She spoke no English but she was very sweet and we communicated well enough to understand each other.
Small bathroom and no proper screen on the shower. Even though they advertise a "free shuttle" service, when we asked the owner the next day to drop us off at the port, he told us he couldn't help us because he was "busy" all day. He did eventually come back to us and told us his "cousin" would drop us off instead. The van then broke down not 3 minutes up the road so had to get out and wait for what we can only guess was another "cousin" to pick us up on the side of the road and this guy drove down the hairpin turns to the port so fast, sometimes overtaking up to 4 cars at a time on blind corners, I thought an accident was bound to happen but we made it to the port, white knuckles and all.
The best thing was pick us up from the port and to the port. Actually they couldn't speak English well, however, it made us very much fun and have special experience a lot of time. There was no problem at all finally. The house is very clean and comfy. good location and reasonable price in Santorini. We had great memories with John, his mom & dad, and many friend who we met in Santorini...many thanks!!!
Great hotel, with a very nice pool to relax. The room was basic, but as expected and clean. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Location was good, 10-15 min walk to the centre of Fira.
Very friendly staff, ideal location, clean rooms, good wifi, great value for money. Will definitely recommend to friends and family
Free ride from the airport. Clean place.
Despite having booked a room with balcony I have been assigned to a room at the first flor with only a small window facing the laundry. The room was small and had nothing to do with the photos. I have complained the day after but was told the hotel is fully booked and I would be advices in case some balcony room would be free?! The owner has a very limited English so did not want to spend my time arguing. At the check out I have paid the amount if the reservation and no discount was offered. I trust there is better in Santorini for this price
Internet in the rooms is blazing fast. We got a good deal on the room so I'd say if you get a cheap price then its a decent place to stay since you can explore the island relatively easily if you have a car. Rooms were basic but were relatively comfortable with a good A/C etc.
1. There was a mixup when we were checking in. Our reservation mentioned a balcony and the owners tried to force us to take a room without a balcony for 1 night. When we insisted things got a bit heated but we eventually got the room we had reserved. An unpleasant beginning to an otherwise satisfactory experience. 2. The location is mediocre. Its in the middle of an old section of the island near Fira with NO views; and basically nothing 'scenic' around. The actual hotel is also not as glamorous looking as it looks in the pictures. In hindsight we would have spent our nights at a more scenic hotel given how dreamy Santorini is. Location is 'good' only in the sense that Fira is less than a 5 min drive away. If you're really on a budget then you'd do fine here otherwise there are arguably better places on the island with caldera views etc if you get a good deal on them.
John and his mother are so kind, very helpful and very nice people. Hotel is so near to bus stop. You can walk to Fira in 10-15 min.But hotel is in silence place. Hotel is very clean, rooms are comfortable. Balcony of rooms are enough wide. Don't think for transfers to port, John is doing his best. Thanks again to John again.
The location was perfect, we had to take buses to get to Fira and to the beaches but it was just part of the adventure and was simple and fun. There are a couple of restaurants and stores near by. The staff is friendly and even though they don't speak a lot of English they always managed to help us, even calling some restaurants for us to make a reservation while we were at the beach!!!! This hotel is clean, relaxing and cozy and we plan to go back one day :)
Villa Margarita is a nice place where to stay in Karterados, just 2 minutes by car to Firà, the main city of Santorini. The owners are really kind and friendly, the rooms are clean, tidy and there you can find air condition, a small kitchen and a fridge. The breakfast is not included in the price of the room, but with 5 euros more per night you will have a traditional greek breakfast with greek yogurt, honey, juice, coffee, milk, jam and fresh bread. The swimming pool is fantastic and refreshing any time u want.
The owners, even if are really friendly, don't speak a good english and the location is not easy to find because there is on other place named Hotel Margarita in Firà.
Clean, friendly, internet, very warm hospitality.
by car or by bus you could make arould the island!
It is a 15-20min walk to fira. Reasonably priced restaurants on main street. Nice to have a pool to cool off. Transfer available upon request
Staff speak little english so questions difficult at times.
location, staff, pool,
no breakfast for the price was a bit high.
The staff were amazing! When we got there we were 3 hours early for check in, they stored our bags and let us use the pool until our rooms were ready. We had a asked for an ice bucket for our champagne and they didn't have one so Janis went out and got us one!:) the breakfast was good lots of fresh fruit and they drove us to ferry port on our exit!!! Was an awesome experince
John was lovely with our transfers to and from the ferry.
The language barrier was a bit tricky but that's fine. We just knew our limitations and knew we had to get ourselves organised rather than expect to be able to ask for advice.
Lovely, warm, helpful, very accommodating hosts Late night transfers to and from the port Swimming Pool Delicious breakfast Amazing view of Fira from the balcony Everything was very clean
Perhaps a little far away from the the middle of Fira town (10-15 mins walk), but I guess this was compensated for as we got a great price on our rooms.
very good location, just 800m from Thira centre and all the places that we all visit Santorini, the owner will pick you up from port or airport, nice swimming pool to cool you down in hot santorini sun, bonus was the bottle of local white wine made by the hotel owner him self
we stayed to short, only 3 days
The room was great, air con and private bathroom. There was a great range at breakfast for only €5 but there's a supermarket really close if you want to buy food yourself. Really close to the main town Fira and lots of restaurants near the hotel. Spirits and Margarita are great hosts although Margarita spoke very limited English she always tried to help
Nothing! I loved it
Wifi, air condiioning, pool
Staff didn't speak English and weren't there very much, beds weren't very comfortable
Hosts were very friendly and nothing was a problem, 1k out of Fira so much quieter than in town, good eating top of street
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Margarita, even though there were electricity problems on the island while we were there. The breakfast was great, and the staff were lovely, leaving fresh fruit for us from their farm and dropping us to the port when we left. Good pool. Rooms were cleaned immaculately daily.
A little bit of a walk from Thira. Having no electricity, but that was not the fault of the hotel in any way!
