At the edge of the picturesque port of Ios, this is a family-run, traditional guesthouse, just 165 ft from the sandy Yialos beach and half a mile from the village. It was amazing. A beautiful hotel full of fairy lights and flowers, every room with a cute little balcony with table and chairs. Lambros the owner was a highlight of our holiday! He was so helpful, a total legend - letting us check out 2 hours late because of a nosebleed, allowing us to change rooms, advising us on the best restaurants, clubs, routes, etc etc. The walk to the village/nightlife is a 5 minute $1.60 bus journey, or a 10/15 minute walk up steps the are right by Villa Mata. Met loads of other amazing people in the hotel, were able to cook our own dinner when we didn't feel like eating out because of the little outdoor kitchen, wasn't a problem if you were up at all hours! 1 minute away from Yialos beach. Perfect.

Excellent location, pretty cheap, a very clean place with friendly and professional staff! What else do we need? I highly recommend this place. I followed the reviews on the internet and booked a room for 10 nights. I enjoyed every minute at Villla Mata and if I come back to Ios, it will be only this place where I will stay. In addition to the above, Lambros (the guy who runs the hotel) is so nice and helpful! I forgot my adapter in Athens and Lambros brought me a new one immediately. In addition, he was always available for answering my questions on where to go and what to do. What is more important is that his suggestions were clear and accurate, so I visited and did things like a local (honestly, "Lonely Planet" was not so helpful). Finally, the location is excellent - literally one minute from one beach, two minutes from the port and 10-- 15 minutes from other two beaches. Overall, awesome!!!

Great place! Amazing value for what I paid. The room was very clean and comfortable, the location was great- close to the beach, many good restaurants, the port, and town. The outdoor kitchen was a great bonus and there was also a BBQ for guests to use.

Cadre plaisant, calme et proche de commerces et restaurants. Balcon agréable. La salle de bain est vétuste, il n'y a aucune pression à la douche. À améliorer.

Innanzitutto Lambros, il proprietario: è il numero 1!! Lo staff è cordiale e disponibile. Le camere sono pulite e spaziose. La posizione è strategica: a 1 minuto dalla spiaggia e a 10 min a piedi dal centro. Nulla

Uno dei punti di forza è che tutto lo staff, Lambros (il titolare) compreso, fanno di tutto per farti sentire 'a casa'. E' una sistemazione con un ottimo rapporto qualità\prezzo e tutti sono molto alla mano. Le zone comuni permettono, volendo, di socializzare con gli altri ospiti. Lo staff è a vostra disposizione per qualsiasi necessità o informazione. Parlano, oltre al greco, anche l'inglese e un po' d'italiano In alcuni bagni potrebbe esser assente la staffa per agganciare il rubinetto della doccia. Ma è veramente l'unica nota "non positiva". Alla fine basta regger il rubinetto e la doccia si fa tranquillamente.
