There was no lift. On two of the days there was a strong gale force wind blowing but despite this breakfast was still served outside.
The owner was very helpful indeed. Large rooms with big double beds. The hotel was only 5 mins walk from the sea front.
It was an unexpected delight to stay in a lovely house with a welcoming host who wanted all his guests to enjoy their stay. Every one was included in the activities generated by the host and his guests. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Location, grounds & friendliness of owner & staff. Perfect for a tranquil stay in Kalymnos town.
Long walk from Port with luggage. Had booked studio for one night with intention of staying longer if we liked it. We arrived about 11 pm-we'd advised of our late arrival-and were given a beautiful room in the old house, fabulous huge bathroom-but not a studio. We were desperate to be able to make a cup of tea after a 24 hour journey from UK but had to make do with a jug of water provided by the lovely host.Next day we were given a large, very good studio for the next 3 nights but we were disappointed to have to move our luggage again when we'd definitely booked a studio in the first place.
Beautiful old house with tasteful newer studio additions in the grounds. Lovely swimming pool with gorgeous views of hills/flowers/church.Very quiet location in a busy town. Good buffet breakfast in the pretty courtyard.
Great ocation easy walk to port owner very helpful and always there for you Breakfast very good served in the garden Excellent large swimming pool Room really good and given the choice of 2 when we arrived with large table and lounge and a very big bathroom with bath and separate shower
The amount of money paid you would think some I Of it would be spent on maintainance also the breakfast was overpriced. Room needed to be better serviced and cleaner. There was sand on the floor, fridge needed to be cleaned & didn't work properly .. and utensils in the kitchen were dirty. Overall this hotel needs to address there cleanliness..
The owner was friendly & polite..
The rooms could need some renovation. The lack of staff in the breakfast, it was served very slowly and took sometimes over 15 min wait to have more bread, coffee and juice etc...
The hotel was situated 15 min walking from the harbour. Very quiet rooms. We had the family room downstairs near the pool which was nice with the kids. Lovely pool area, though it had some stuff around the area but it didn't bother us. Kids loved the pool. The owner was very friendly and one day they served us ice cream at the pool area. Very fast wi-fi. Breakfast was very simple but good.
The hotel is originally a 1930's Neo Classic building. It is managed by companionable and friendly family. We enjoyed a lazy morning and evening time with the owner and other guests over chatting, frape(Greek iced Coffee), Ice cream etc. The hotel is located near archaeological museum, 15minutes walk from the port. A room is very quiet and we had peaceful sleep. We can choose 3 types of a room, studio, villa room and family apartment.villa rooms on the top floor has a large balcony facing Kalymnos port. If you want to spend a relaxing time in the island, I recommend.
Very relaxed atmosphere and enjoyable opener antoni.
Charming hotel, good swimming pool, good value for money
Dangerous for children (pool was draineed for maintanance and no shielding were established). No musquito net or A/C we were all badly bit by nasty bugs. Staff speak very little english but fluent in German. Breakfast was bad and served too late (at 09.00)
Nice gardens, relative large rooms, free Wifi. Best hotel in Kalymnos city I think (there are not many hotels).
A little tricky to find first time (recommend taxi from port with bags, unless athletic)
Friendly staff Beautiful 19th-century buildings Incredible pool (very deep!) Stunning surroundings Good breakfast
all was wonderful
friendly, generous, obliging, easy-going owner who made us feel part of the family, giving impromptu language lessons to my non greek speaking friends, always ready with a smile and a joke, lovely outdoor sitting area for breakfast, wonderful location 5 mins walk through tiny streets to the main promenade, friendliness of locals, a 'real Greece' experience
The people in the hotel nice swimmingpool big rooms nice flowerd
Was given a self catering family room, very disappointed as it was a sixtieth birthday present, we were told booking.com overbooked? breakfast on second day, no bread no coffee eventually found someone but coffee was cold when it arrived. Parking was awful, no on site just very narrow side roads if you can find a space, was looking forward to a swim but pool was empty and quite dangerous for families with young children
A lovely family in a beautiful old villa I'm sure the deluxe room we should have would have been lovely!
Safety concerns with stair access up 2 floors to room - loose carpet.. No handrails and very steep stairs from bedroom to en-suite bathroom plus lack of head clearance if you are over 5'6" - serious safety concern. Very deep (2 to 3 M) empty swimming pool not fenced off. WIFI access very limited and only to ground floor / external areas. Facilities for tea / coffee making, in room non existing and general facilities, e.g. laundry, not available. In need of serious maintenance / rejuvination
The personnel were helpful and engaging.. Great architecture and period furniture Great position and view from room / balcony
It may have been really good once and certainly is visually attractive. The rooms could do with a refit. The supposedly self catering apartments are a joke. There isn't even room to chop an onion. Dividing rooms with a curtain is no longer acceptable. The plumbing really needs re-doing and at the very least the pipework needs cleaning. We were there in March and the winter's rainwater and rotting leaves was all that there was in the pool. This provided an ideal breeding ground for large mosquitos. The man that runs the place is very nice but I think that he is now too old and we suspect that he needs more help
