Near the main street It was an horrible experience. For this trip, we have booked 5 hotels by Booking.com and this was the only one that we can't recommend to anyone. First of all, we've confirmed our arriving by email two days before, but John wasn't in the airport to pick up us and didn't give us any appologies. The staff, John, was very unkind and impolite. He didn´t give any information for us about the hotel or the town. The bathroom gets all wet after the shower and they didn´t changed our towel. They quarrelled loud in the reception for 3 times when we were trying to rest in the room at the afternoon. It was very unpleasant. Didn't accept credit card

The hotel is great, clean, and comfortable; and the location superb, but if I have to highlight something of our stay there its definitively the excellent treatment from Maria, the receptionist. She was really kind, willing, and made our stay at Villa Popi even nicer than already was! Thanks Maria!

Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable stuff. Beautiful pool. I particularly like its location that it's buried right in the residential zone of Fira which makes you feel like you live there every time you walk to or from the hotel. If possible, ask for the rooms in the back. Those rooms have pretty awesome view of the sea hidden behind the hotel with a spacious common terrace to enjoy. The beds are a bit flat and thin which needs some getting use to. The Wi-Fi connection in the lobby is a bit unreliable but not much of a big deal.

Location is good, walk around 8-10min to Fira city but there are many steps before go to hotel, it's not convenience if you take heavy luggage. Small pool is nice but behind the hotel, no sunbath. The receptionist is nice and helpful. Can't connect wifi everytime. The bed is too soft and noisy.

Good value for money. Good location in town. Service was good and free transfers to and from port is an added bonus. If you are looking for something cheap and cheerful this hotel is worth a look. The walls are thin so you can hear people walking around and opening and closing doors especially at night. Our bathroom was small.

Villa Popi is very central, it takes less than five minutes to go to the city. The room was clean, there's a little pool which is good since it takes some time to go to a beach. Breakfast was included (even if it's a very simple one). Beautiful room which looked a bit like a cave! We didn't really like the receptionist since we didn't think we got the best help if we had a problem. But he was okey!

1) Free pick up from the airport from John himself was thoroughly appreciated 2) Location - it's literally in the heart of Fira and close to all the shops, restaurants and cable car. Rental car companies are located literally next door & opposite to Villa Poppi. 3) Swimming pool - although small, it is still a bonus for the low price you pay. A nice dip in the pool after a hot summer's day exploring Santorini is definitely not taken for granted. 1) The hotel's internet connection can not be used any where in the rooms except in the main reception area 2) We stayed in the basement room and it was extremely dark even in day time. Not your 5-star hotel but again, you get what you pay for

Pretty good location - only a 300 metre walk to the centre of town along the main road. Quiet. No views of the caldera obviously as the price shows! We found the hotel to be simple and adequate of all needs - breakfast was good, staff were helpful too. Room was spotless, however ours was tiny - just enough for the bed! balcony looking over the pool was fine too. Would recommend this hotel for young couples who are travelling on the medium price range.

It is close to the center of Fira and at the same time it is quiet and calm. It is geting cleaned every two days. Also there is a small swimming pool. Finally there is a basic (not something special) brekfast included in the price. It is ok, not something special but not bad. According to my opinion it should be a bit less expensive in order to obdain better value for money. The staff was not always available. Upon our arrival there was nobody at the reception and we had to call the manager in order to get directions from the phone to our room. It was incovenient with all the laguages and after the 9h trip from Piraeus. Next day we were brought back from the beach in order to move again to another room. It is unaccetable and unprofesional not to be met by anyone, and not to have anyone to (at least) voluntear to help with laguages. I would recomend it under circumnstances for travellers that want basic accomodation, and not without second thought.

The staff were helpful but on the whole the hotel experience represented rather poor value for money. I understand that Santorini is an expensive island but poor value is still poor value. Size of room, lack of balcony, lack of satellite on the tv.

What didn't we like? Nothing. It was very close to town but offered a sanctuary from the throng when we needed it. The pool was well used by our family in between our outings. The staff had excellent advice on restaurants and places to visit. The room was clean with a great outlook and the breakfast was good value.Top spot!

“Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful. Jeremy, born and raised in Boston, was especially responsive to our desire to enjoy the island in a less traditional way and recommended eateries and treats that were fabulous. Sophia was equally gracious, professional and knowledgeable. A delight. And yes, the lower rooms involve many more stairs, but that is Santorini! We (mother and daughter) left the windows open at night to feel the night air and felt very safe.” Kristen, Buffalo, New York |

“The staff were the best thing, they were helpful and friendly. I brought a group of 18 people and they picked us up at the airport and then dropped us at the ferry stop for free, this was a great service and really made them stand out.Location is perfect and the hotel has the clean beautiful Santorini look.” Joanne, Yeppoon |
