The garden and the disponibility of the owner ti take me up..
Bathroom with a bad smelling atmosphere..
There is an interesting feel to the premises and i imagine that it would be lively during the peak season. Wifi is very good. Beds are decent. Quite good value for money.
Old and rundown premises, haven't been renovated in a long time. Located in a so so area, (middle of nowhere but 15 min walk to Mykonos). I was unfortunate to arrive when there was a problem with the hot water (no hot water) and the owner didn't even suggest an alternative or a partial refund, even though i was not informed there would be no hot water on arrival.
The owner does not accept payment by card. He does not offer a receipt after paying cash. He was very rude and we didnt feel comfortable around him.
The room was spotlessly clean, wifi and air con free of charge, Booby kindly collected us from the port and took us to the airport.
Terrible location - website states quiet location, when in fact it is in the middle of a very busy road junction. Room very basic, fridge but no plates, cutlery etc.
Mykonos is amazing, from the beginning to the end. The pension has really good accommodations, good wifi signal and offered us a free transfer from the port. Almost forgot: a market five steps far from the place.
Some plus sides; Bobby let me to keep my luggage at the staff room as my arrival was "too early". I was able to freshen up in the staff bathroom which was an awesome thing after my overnight flight. The room and the pension itself were OK; they commensurate with the amount that I paid, thankfully.
My stay at Bobby's pension was not an enjoyable one. First, the pension is not a hotel so you need to knock or buzz his house to let him know your arrival. And at 7am in the morning, Bobby wasn't a happy chappy. There's also issue whereby Bobby replied, via booking.com response form, that I was granted early checkin at 9am. Hence, in booking.com's record, he's the good guy. The reality was far from it. I only got into my room 2pm ie: the usual checkin time. Bobby also exudes the air of unfriendliness, as if him managing his pension is a chore. It's one of those no welcome-to-mykonos, where-you-from, anything-let-me-know kind of gestures that will put a new guest at ease. Judging from the herd of tourists flocking the island, sorry to say, he couldn't care less. What took the cake, for me at least, was that Bobby did not inform his "free transport" to the ferry port only leaves at 9am. The timing was fine except that I was informed 10 mins before 9am. In my honest opinion, perhaps Bobby could have mentioned it during my checkin but I guess the who-cares-it's-Mykonos syndrom got the better of him. Luckily my walk with my luggage took only 30 mins to the port.
-The owner was very nice and accesible and even took us in his private car to the port when we asked for it. -Supermarket next to it with cheap prices open almost 24h (at least in august)
-We were relocated to a different pension the first day, due to overbooking. This pension was cheaper, but we still paid the original price and the money difference was not returned to us. This shows lack of organization and respect for the customer. -Shower didn't have enough pressure and water came out in small amounts, making it a bit uncomfortable to use. -To get to the city you have to walk along the main road (no pavement) for 10 mins while avoiding the heavy traffic
Nice hosts, super friendly and hospitable and that's where the nicest ends I am afraid.
Everything else. Poor room, poor lighting, hideous furniture, not worth the money. I was told that CC machine wasn't working when I wanted to pay. That again, nobody trust banks in Greece. But frankly, it was one of the worse places I had the miss-fortunate to stay at. Sorry for the honest feedback
I think that the location is quite good because is just a short scooter ride from the centre and it's far enough from the busy activities of the town. There's a nice cosy garden, and we've been given a very large room! The room was quite basic, but everything worked fine, including an efficient air-conditioning. The owner has always been helpful and also gave us a ride to the port.
The pension is not sign-posted, from the outside it looks like a normal house, so it was a bit difficult to find. Noisy partying teenagers early in the morning...
The location was perfect! Just a 15 minute walk from the beach and even less into town. The rooms were very comfortable and Bobby (the owner) greeted me by name--at the port for the free ferry pick-up-- and made sure I was comfortable the whole stay. I'm traveling alone and he introduced me to another lone traveler and we became friends! Great place and I highly recommend!
location, staff service, room space, garden, wifi perfect, from/to port transport, new furnishment, LEE from Taiwan
no complaint, LEE from Taiwan
Bobby was a very friendly guy, and the hotel itself is in a pretty good location, can rent a car or a scooter turn left head down to the little Venice for 5 min. Got a little cozy yard can relax, good place to stay for a couple of days.
Open the window before you leave the room, it smells too sterilized after cleaning.
Good value place to stay. Wifi was good. Particularly appreciated being contacted by the owner to arrange pick up from the port. Nice and quiet compared to staying right in the town.
A bit of a walk into town which didn't bother me but might put some off as it is uphill on way back.
Bobby and his wife were lovely, very helpful offering free shuttles to and from port and airport. Good wifi in room and in courtyard
The garden was wonderful and the it was close enough to the town that you could easily walk, but far enough away that it was not loud and there was no hustle and bustle around. There is also a small grocery store right next door. The room had a fridge and that was very helpful. Also, wifi was a good strong connection.
The staff held my passport for almost two days, which I didnt particularly like, but other than that they were very nice and helpful. I wish the place was just a little bit closer to town.
Older rooms fairly priced for Mykonos. Nice courtyard. Included transfer to and from the ferry terminal (4 km distance).
Bed covers are due to be washed (bed sheets were clean though).
Bobby was very helpful and a great host! The location is a short walk from the center, so it was quiet but still central. The market next door ended up being very useful as well.
Room is a bit small but it wasn't an issue for us
Great place, friendly people, nice green courtyard.
There were free transfers to and from the ferry port by the hostel owner. The owner, Bobbi was friendly and told us all about Mykonos. When I arrived I found the room to be spacious and cosy with luxuries such as a television and a fridge. On Easter Sunday, Bobbi invited everyone staying at the hostel to a grand Easter feast. Gathered around the table outside, there was a massive spit roasted lamb with traditional Greek food. For dessert, there was also delicious baclava and I was very satiated by the end of it. The location is 600m from Mykonos town and conveniently next to a supermarket. Overall, if there's any time to visit Mykonos and you need a place to stay, Easter at Vouniotis Pension is the only way. 9.5/10
The only thing I could fault, was sometimes the wi-fi could be unpredictable but that's Greece for ya.
It was good value for the money, quite place, and bob, the owner is a really nice guy, very helpful.
it is a little far from the center (15 min walk), which might be a problem offseason, when you don't have a lot of buses and if you don't like walking.
It is a little bit out of town but still within walking distance of about 20mins to the old port. They met me at the port and dropped me off again which was great. Good wifi signal and very helpful with getting me acclimatized to the area. There is a market just next door. The room was comfortable.
Nothing - it was a great stay and very cheap
