Staff were very nice and extremely helpful, anything you asked you got a straight answer, the hostel was clean throughout and warm, the moment I arrived at the hostel this young tallish Greek guy was awesome! I checked in immediately despite the official standard check in time was at 12:30PM ready yet when I explained that I have just arrived from a 15 journey, my bed was already prepared. The location is excellent within an easy 10 minute walk into multicultural district, an array of flea markets, fine cafe's and restaurants are at your finger tips 24/7.
What's not to like!
- central location - staff - the guy was quite helpful as far as words go. - price - roof terrace!
- nobody was sweeping under the bed since the WW2... - mould in showers. Kinda nasty. - cold corridors full of cigarette smoke - no kitchen, no gathering room - internet connection not in all floors, let alone in the rooms. - aircon for extra money per night of use?? - €10 per 1 use of washing machine?!? - late check-out charged by unspecified money?
- price - staff
- cold in room without heater - broken lock on the door - noisy - sharing room with strange people
I have been there twice and I had a great time, everything is very good, from the hostel's bed comfort to the staffs attention and ready to help attitude towards the customers. the place is clean, the only problem is the stairs it might make it unique but is not comfortable for the 2nd floor's customers.
very kind staffs, low rate and good location
The people are great. Great location and atmosphere :) STAY HERE IF YOU DON'T MIND BEING A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE IN ORDER TO MEET GREAT PEOPLE :)
The rooms lack light. There's just one very basic ligh tbulb.. The bed is not to comfy.. But, all that said- it is a great place to meet people and i still recommend it. Just don't expect luxury :)
I liked the price, but not much else. Athens is so expensive so the price was unbeatable, but you get what you pay for. There were always people in the hallways talking and the walls were paper thin, so without ear plugs and melatonin I would have been screwed for sleep. Try to get a room on the inside, not on the street. The bunks were kinda scary, I was happy I had my own sleep sheet and used a scarf to cover the pillow. The showers were so unclean I tried not to touch anything. Really just used the place to sleep, kinda can't believe we stayed 4 nights. But like I said, the price was unbeatable. Location is pretty convenient.
Dirty bathrooms, screens were so caked with dust they barely let light through, hostel was loud, always loud people in the hallways and walls were paper thin. Wifi only worked in the hall, which is why people were always there.
The location is great!
Don't send your laundry there, they destroyed our clothes
booked people in our room
Everyone needs to know that there is no lift and the third floor is up five flights of stairs.
Toilets were not working, dirty shower, staff not very helpful, only one key per room, no internet in the rooms.
This hostel was so wonderful! the staff is friendly and helpful, I was sick when i got here and the lady that ran the hostel basically became my mother and cured me overnight :) the rooms and house is beautiful! a little hard to find but i figured it out- would definitely reccomend to other travellers~
The location was very good and the staff was friendly!
Unfortunately the wifi didn't reach the room we were staying at
Nice location in Athens and realy nice staff.
It was to loud at night, very hard to sleep There is no Community area, there was no one at the rooftop, so its realy hard to meet new people.
The personnel was kind, always available to give you some informations about the city. The hostel has a good location (in the center, 5 minutes by foot from Monastiraki) The sheets, rooms etc ... were clean (not perfect clean but come on, you get what you pay for). I would go back there again when i go back to Athens ;)
No hot water in the shower.
The staff is good and the hotel is located near some touristic attractions, even though the next area is a bit dangerous.
No wi-fi in the room and outside the rooms there are not any socket to plug a charger.
So close from everything you should see: Monastiraki, Agora, Acropolis, National Museum.
Our room was very dirty: "cats" of dust under the bed and in the fan. Common showers didn't work properly, and you couldn't lock the door from inside! Wifi just in the staircase. "Free public parking in the neighbours" is a big lie: it's not free, and, questioned about the area security, the receptionist didn't suggest to park there (adding not nice comparison with our home town). Anyway, for about 10€/day there is an indoor parking at 100mt.
for that money its ok, but only for shot term stay, nice spot on the roof where you can met other guests during night
Not far and very cheap accommodation.
Cheap and friendly
Location not ideal
15 - 20 minutes walk to the Akropolis
Dirty and smelly showers, insane amounts of bugs, spiders and mozzies in the room, mosquito blood on the walls, cobwebs, no wifi in rooms, had to pay for air con, dirty sheets, uncomfortable and unsafe beds, was informed by staff that the water was fine as long as "you let the water run for a bit to get rid of the dust". Other than that, it was a ripper hostel
