The hotel was really good! the breakfast was great and the staff are very kind
We paid more for less to stay near parque central and this placed topped it hands down. A brief walk into town, clean and spacious rooms. Great shower and lovely courtyard.
Rooms have very thin walls but we were too tired to care.
The whole place is nicely decorated. Our room has plenty of space and a wardrobe. The bed is very comfortable
The room is a bit dark. Bathtub in the king suite does not have a drain-stop (or rather it didn't work) so we could not take a bath. Also the drain is extremely slow
Very good price for what we got. Everything was great at the hotel
Not easy to find, and it is a bit far from central locations
It is a very nice hotel with a beautiful garden /patio. Rooms are spacious and clean. Good breakfast.
It is very difficult to find when it is dark. It is kind of out of the center on a small street in a gated area. On the main street there is a small sign with the name of the hotel but this is not legible when it is dark. They should have told us before arriving. Also the street up to the hotel is kind of dark and empty in the evening. Although it is considered a safe area, i would not feel comfortable walking there on my own in the evening.
A little too far to walk to the town centre given the traffic and the diesel fumes, which has little to do with the actual hotel, which was great.
I liked the decorations, the courtyard inside and the security of the place. Very quiet and comfortable hotel.
The strong smell of humidity.
Service was great
No soap in bathroom
Our layover caused us to be a day late; they were kind enough to extend our stay an extra day free of charge. The location was convenient yet quiet. 'Hostal' is not quite accurate, it is a great B&B with a nice courtyard. Extremely comfortable and enjoyable experience in Antigua.
It is more like a boutique hotel than a hostal. The high-ceiling rooms are located around a lovely courtyard and the place is tastefully decorated. The breakfast is delicious, the best I had in Guatemala. The staff is very nice.
It is located in a safe and gated area and about a 10 minute walk to the Central Park. During the day, it is no problem but at night, there is an area that is a bit deserted that might not be safe to walk.
Good value for money
The location a bit far from the city centre, the 2 single beds when I asked a double bed.
Cosy rooms, beautiful breakfast of fresh fruit/bread/cereal/juice and more, lovely courtyard area with stunning gardens, nice easy walk into town only a couple of minutes away, lovely staff especially Monica who organised our airport pickup from Guatemala City, prompt response to email & our very late flight pickup and arrival at the hotel was no problem. Wonderful driver from the airport. Just an absolutely fantastic place. Wifi available too (but not in rooms; just in the courtyard domain which was fine). Gated security complex which was quiet and peaceful during both the day and night.
Staff are very friendly, nice decor in rooms, bed is comfortable. Breakfast was nice and fresh. Normally only from 7:30am, however on three occasions we told them the man at the desk that we had a trip leaving at 6am and he was kind enough to personally get up early to put breakfast out at 5:30am for us! The location is good and not so good depending on what you want. It is a 5 minute walk from the centre of the town, but that also means that you don’t get [incredibly loud] chicken buses, beeping horns etc at 5-6am. It is a pretty safe area though, and staff will call you a tuk-tuk if you so wish.
Pillows are average, Internet is very slow. Rooms all front a central courtyard - very noisy in the morning when guests get up early and make noise and talk. My biggest area of frustration was something they really need to address. The hotel is inside a gated community, with a part-time security guard out the front. We arrived late and there is no buzzer/intercom for the hotel, so the only reason we could get into the property was because our bus driver was kind enough to use his phone, as nobody could hear us banging on the gates!
Staff were really helpful & accommodating. The Hostal is located in a secure area which is quiet and peaceful. Monica went out of her way to provide advice and help us organise tours and two transfers (incl. one to Mexico)
Noise could sometimes be heard from other rooms.
