Far from loudy and noisy downtown, this bed and breakfast offers you to enjoy a spaniard house older than 200 years, with beautiful rooms, patios, plants and a majestic building.
La casa is tranquil, beautiful, and located not too far from central Antigua.
La casa is just a bit further from the central park to get an excellent rating in the location category.
We booked the hotel wanting to have a nice romantic hotel on our last night in Guatemala. The booking was confirmed with a garden view. When we arrived (exhausted from traveling) we were given a room upstairs in what appeared to be staff housing or a converted storage room. When we complained we were told they had no rooms. The sent us to their sister property which was out of the way and in no way comparable. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Gorgeous old world elegant colonial mansion turned bed and breakfast.
We arrived at 9 p.m. on a Friday night with our reservation for 2 nights. The staff said we only could stay 1 night. They spoke no English but I had a copy of the Booking.com reservation in Spanish to give to them. They were able to get thru to us that they no longer dealt with Booking.com. I found a young tourist the next day that spoke English and Spanish and explained our dilemma and asked him to intervene for us and explain that we had made our reservation in July for this March stay so that if they didn't currently deal with Booking.com, they must have when I made the reservation in March. They had a wedding on site probably for Sat. night so we assumed they threw us out to accommodate a locals' wedding party. At least they did find us another place to stay which was not nearly as nice and actually more expensive and certainly not worth the price we paid for it. But given we needed a place to stay on a Sat. night, we were relieved they did this for us and they paid the taxi to take us there. We had no hot water in our room that night or early morning. As no one spoke English, we didn't complain and we were leaving so it didn't matter. We ran the water multiple times for long periods but no hot water. We were gone by 9:30 a.m. to our new accomodations.
A brilliant stay in a beautiful colonial mansion. Spacious rooms with dark antique furniture and tiled floors.Very few rooms and so we had it to ourselves. Lovely garden and cloisters and swimming pool. Tasteful baronial dining room. A relaxing stay in the heart of colonial Antigua. In fact it was such a beautiful building that it was included in one of the colonial walking tours of Antigua
Staff was really friendly and helpful
The bed is a little hard and there´s some noice that can bother sometimes
