We would like to thank all the staff again for our fantastic Christmas at Lo de Bernal - they upgraded us for free as it was my birthday. The master suite has the biggest and most comfortable bed in the world! The room also has a huge bathroom with powershower and a terrace for moonlight evenings. Little touches made our stay special too and the hotel is quiet and safe, yet very central. They were also very helpful after my passport was stolen in a previous venue. Thank you again Lo de Bernal! There was no central water barrell from which to refill your bottle - but you could ask for more small (new) bottles of water if needed. Maybe a rubbish bin the the room would be good - rubbish and used water bottles were not collected from the room. However, none of this detracted from a wonderful stay at the hotel.

Excellent staff, very helpful assisting with an emergency experienced by my travel mate. Comfy pillow top beds, high quality linens, beautiful bathroom with excellent water pressure. Tasteful decor in rooms and public areas. Spotty internet signal in our room, often had to roamaround to find access (may have been due to location, lower floor at back of hotel). Could use a full length mirror in keeping with other higher end amenities. Could use a desk/chair for computer.

The hotel is within 10 mins walking distance to the main square, shopping streets and hub of Antigua. It's also just a few minutes walk to the main street with lots of restaurants, cafes and bars. I liked that free wireless was available at the hotel. They also had 1 computer by the reception with internet access that guests could use. The hotel is very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. Very good selection of fresh fruit every morning. The computer by the reception - They letters on the keyboard had nearly all faded , I cold understand why this wss not changed. It made using the internet extremely difficult (thankfully I had my laptop) The hotel advertises that free wireless is available throughout the hotel, however I could not connect in my room.(weak signal) I had to sit by the reception to connect. This was irritating. The breakfast although adequate is not varied enough for it to be a true continental breakfast; no crossiants / no rolls/ no cheeses or meat slices & no freshly squeezed orange juice. It was confusing that the hotel has changed it name to La Abadia but on the website it is called lo de bernal. When we arrived by taxi, I thought we had been taken to the wrong hotel. Please update your name on all hotel booking websites.

No tienen parqueo propio.

The room was beautiful and had a lovely patio where we could write postcards in the morning while looking at the landscape and volcano. Internet access was free and breakfasts were good. Very central to all locations. Toilet leaked water when refilled.
