Lovely little balcony overlooking the lake. Staff were great, cant thank the lady on reception enough for helping us get to our bus after the travel agent let us down. Lovely breakfast too which they kindly let us have late one day after returning from a 3am tour to Tikal. Close to many restaurants and shops.
Nothing to dislike!
The idyllic location with stunning views across the lake
View of the lake from our balcony; very close to restaurants and bars; very close to the airport; breakfast was included; towels folded in funny shapes!!
Wifi was rather slow, but not too much; it can get noisy on saturday nights (because of the bars around); however on sunday it was really quiet;if travelling to palenque, don't take their offer, but rather directly some external agency's: they offered the trip for 350 quetzales, while san juan agency with just 260.
great location on the water pool area very nice staff
room was depressing with bad lighting and sad decor bathroom was very outdated
I like that it was close to restaurants and travel agencies. Love the night life there. Definately need to come back.
The room was small. That's the only Downside, but we only needed it to sleep.
Location was Amazing! Our room faced the lake, Staff helped us plan our trip to Tikal.
Partner described the pillows as laying on a dead dog, and after 9 hours traveling by bus from Guatemala city, the shower was quite the disappointment.
The location of this hotel is fab - very central with a great sunset view from the balconies over the lake. No nonsense no frills hotel which is reflected in the very good price. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Great little hotel--just be sure to get a room that is not along the lake. The music from the nearby restaurants and noise from tourists can be loud and go on into the night.
views location (in the middle of Flores)
smells/humidity from the pool inside the hotel, noise from neighbor dance club, noise from A/C (coolers in the corridor !),
Hotel Peten was very well located right on the lake and the staff were very helpful in organising our transport to Tikal, laundry, etc.
But the room itself was very run down and pokey – not helped by having too much furniture crammed in a small room. To say the rooms need renovation is an understatement: power sockets hanging out of the wall, rickety beds, bathroom fittings chipped and worn and bed linen definitely having seen better days. Nor was it particularly cheap considering. But, as a base from which to visit Tikal, the town has a captive audience and therefore probably not under much pressure to raise standards!
