The atmosphere, the decor which was old fashioned and solid, the informative and very kind and caring staff, the security, the position away from the centre of town but an easy walk there.
Staff was incredibly helpful and understanding. They went to great lengths to make us feel comfortable and informed. We arrived late and they upgraded our room for no additional charge. There was warm water in the shower...and at that point in the trip we didn't realize what a luxury that was! The courtyard and patio/terrace are beautiful and a nice place to relax - plus you can see a peek of the volcano in the distance! The best part of our stay was the quiet and peaceful location - just a few blocks from the main sights but remote enough that our room was perfectly silent!
This Hotel has a very peaceful and homely atmosphere. The staff and owner were so friendly and welcoming and very helpful. The rooms were cleaned every day and nothing was too much trouble. The courtyard area was beautiful with lots of plants and greenery. I would recommend a stay here in Antigua.
Ms. Zamora, the proprietor of the hotel was extremely helpful and kind. She and her sister shared their knowledge on local eateries, customs, and flora. My room and bathroom were both very large and very clean. The staff is trustworthy and I will definitely stay here again. As a single female traveler, this hotel is one of the rare gems in Antigua and the price makes it even better. It is like staying with family since it is only a block from the central "city", but far enough away that you are not bothered by throngs of tourists. Literally 5 minute walk from Merced church.
My room was the closest to the road, but with the new flatscreen tv on and turned to a very low volume, I slept just fine. Please note, I was here during Semana Santa which is VERY busy and brings many trucks down the road. Normally, the road in front of the hotel is fairly quiet so this should not be an issue during non-peak times.
room was large clean owner was a nice lady
isn't really a hotel more like a B&B without the breakfast. no refreshments, not even morning coffee next to a busy street with a lot of car pollution no helpful tourist information
The staff was excellent and very helpful. My stay was brief but I would book this again. its perfect for the money
the staff were incredibly nice (spoke good english and arranged a lot of rides for us)! the rooms and decor were very quaint, and the location was great! not too close to the noise from the easter parades and not too far away to make it a nuisance to attend them.
no hot water... also, i shared a bathroom with my friends in another room, and we could hear everything going on in each others' rooms. so the two rooms that had a shared bathroom aren't very sound proof. but that's minor, i think.
Very nice people! I felled very welcomed. They helped me with everything. And the hotel is not too far from the center, although rather diffcult to find.
Too expensive! Old building, small bedroom, shower didn't function well. Wifi was very slow. Certainly overpriced.
Such a homely feel. Loved staying there. So peaceful and host was so nice!!
Jaun who runs the hotel was a really nice guy made us really welcome and the whole place had a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere.
None - it was all good
The owner, Gilda, as well as the rest of the staff, were wonderful. It is a very pleasant, clean and safe place to stay. I asked Gilda for help with several things and she was very kind and helpful each time. The hotel is quiet and a 10 minute walk from the parque centrale. At night, when it is dark, it only costs $2 - $4 to take a tuc-tuc or a taxi home.
