Closeness to the us Embassy. The staff was great for the two days of our stay. Security was a priority. The inside was amassing for tourist and business. The staff was friendly and always helpful. There was a safe (box) in the room. The tv was larger than other hotels (42 or 49") flat screen. Bed comfortable. The windows could be open wide or just the top. The gate guard recognize us by the second day and friendly. The inside was great for small one to one business. It also had a small bar. Nice, quite, private place.
No air-condition, during our travel the weather was nice and cool. But if it would have been hot that may be an issue.
Everything was cool except wifi
Wifi didn't work
The helpfulness of the staff.
Noise level was a little high at times
The helpfulness of the staff
The strength and bandwidth of the wifi
The friendly service received from the staff
When I hear people from next rooms snoring....
The staff were very helpful and efficient and came through with every thing they offered us, unlike a lot of places
The place is well located, with a beautiful atmosphere near banks, shops and restaurants. The hotel offers a taxi service if you need to go anywhere. The staff is very friendly and is ready to help you even beyond the call of duty. I would use this facility again and recommend it without any reservation.
The only complaint I have is that since my room had windows facing the yard where the pool and some tables are located, some young people were talking loudly at night at the time I was in bed, it didn't bother me a lot but I would rather have peace and quiet. Eventually I fell asleep and I think the group of friends went somewhere else.
We loved, adored, this hotel. I was so lovely and beautiful. From the moment we were dropped off in front of it, until the moment a car took us to the airport (free) we admired it's beauty and charm. The room was fabulous, it was a standard room, and large, with kitchen.....the hallways were like being in a great museum....the people at the desk were so accommodating and charming to us.....we loved this hotel.
There was nothing we didn't like, love.
The historical nature of the hotel. The facade is beautiful, bar and lounge area have antiques. Garden was wonderful with coffee beans, banana trees and wonderful flowers. Seating area next to the pool lovely too for a relaxed day. Free transfers from airport, look out for your name on a board. Alternatively it costs 10 dollars by taxi for two late at night, so probably cheaper during the day. Free cocktail. 890 for large double room.
Ideally you would have some understanding of Spanish to stay here, as very few of the staff speak any English. They didn't respond to any emails about enquiries. The details said there was free transfers to the airport which indeed there were, but we weren't old how to organise it. We were told that they waited for us with our name outside the airport. So remember this! I think some of the rooms could do with a good dust and the net curtains need a clean. But overall a very pleasant stay.
Staff is really friendly, they make an effort
Guatemala has a huge issue in paying in dollars, the price that appears on booking is different from what you actually pay because all hotels in Guatemala use their own exchange rate, so expect to pay more, OR, pay in dollars cash, although this might not work because they might charge you in quetzales and turn it into dollars with their own exchange rate, so there is no way out, unless, you pay in quetzales that you have exchanged somewhere else at a reasonable price. The hotel is bad, and I mean really bad, because for this price you could stay at holiday inn which is miles better, this hotel feels really really old, rooms have no AC (though not advertised one doesn't look for it in the amenities because it should be a MUST), TV is the worst. My main issue is, for this price you could stay at a much better hotel. I would never stay here again.
