Hotel is right next to happy Valley racecourse which some may feel is out of town. However, with a tram stop 200m from the hotel door and fares at HK $2.30 (Aug 2011) we found it well placed. Riding the trams is part of the experience of Hong Kong! Staff were very knowlegable, spoke good English and helpful. Within 30 seconds of seeing us leaving the foyer in the rain the concierge appeared with 'free umbrella'. The buffet breakfast, included in the price, was excellent with European toast, cereal, meats and cheese along with a hot buffet-European in flavour alternating with Chinese-smoked duck breast for breakfast was excellent! A do it yourself pancake maker made great, fresh pancakes. Omelettes were made to order. An excellent part of the package.

The location wasn't bad. It was central enough. Whilst the location was not bad, the hotel isn't suitable for elderly people who cannot walk up and down lots of stairs to get to the hotel. There are shuttle bus taking you to city center but that's only every hour. The price is way too expensive compared to other hotels in the area that have better location. Even though I had a cheaper rate room, I thought it wasn't worth it. Wifi in the lobby only? Really?

The staff had great service and replied promptly. Frontdesk staff were helpful and suggested various recommendations and provided help instantaneously. Special mention to the bellboy who went on the extra mile by giving us tips to travel to many places that we wanted to visit.

The staff where very efficient, courteous and Helpfull. I upgraded to a superior Room which had city views and a big comfy King size bed. This is a superior 3 star and is very good value for money. Breakfast is good but not great. Easy access to all parts of Hong Kong Island and beyond. Happy Valley Racecourse a short walk away. (a) TheHotels written description includes a statement that a free shuttle bus is available for Airport transfers, this is incorrect. A free shuttle bus is available to a nearby Airport express train, but as I had a large ammount of luggage after a 4 month world trip this was not an option for me. An Airport shuttle bus was available but is not free, cost was hk$140 each way.The hotel should modify this section to reflect the above. (b) Bookings.com website changes to booking page does not allow additional days to be added.

Location is good with easy accessable shuttle buses to different shopping centres & stations. Within walking distance to Causeway Bay. Though didn't attempt any walk along the subway as the weather was really hot.Staff knowlegable about transport & recommendation of places to see & eat. L5 is a great place to chill out & use of internet. The coffee was simply delicious on this floor. Short walk to shuttle bus at sister hotel - no shelter especially when it is scorching hot or raining.

We liked the size of the room. Staff was pleasant though. We booked a family suite room with 2 rooms a living room and kitchenette. We were actually quite happy with the size of the room although it was not cheap, but I guess that is the price one would have to pay for a city center hotel. The disappointment started at the check in counter itself as we asked to wait although it was way past the check-in time and there was a good 45minutes delay at check-in as the hotel claimed that they needed to "check" the room! We found out what was wrong soon enough when we went to the room. The toilet overflows upon flushing and the sink overflows too! So it was a major disappointment as we needed 2 toilets but throughout the entire stay we only dared use one toilet... getting a cab was tough

The reception staff (Roy) gave us a room with twin bed when the reservation called for one superior double bed. On discovery that the room was not a superior double bed, he argued that the hotel is full and I have to wait for tomorrow if it could be changed. I did not get any call for the room that we booked and paid for for us$277.00. To make matter worst, on check out, I requested for a few hours extension beyong noon check out time. He gave up to only one hour and will charge hk$110.00 For every hour of use. I asked that they be more considerate considering the bad room without even a decent coffee cabinet in Room 702 and with poor lightings, a small hanger closet and poor quality towels. I will rate that room as a two star room. I will never, never check at Cosmo nor Cosmopolitan being under one administration.

Housekeeping staff were efficient, complimentary bathroom products and towels replaced daily as was bottled water. We booked a triple room, given compact 2 rooms with second bathroom (vanity/toilet) which made our stay more comfortable as rooms are small. Free shuttle bus available from nearby Cosmopolitan Hotel. Convenient bus services to Stanley Market, Aberdeen and Ocean Park. Poor design of all windows facing rear of hotel. Frosted glass allowed no view making the room claustrophobic during 8 day stay on 15th floor. Mouldy smell in room which other members of our group occupied. Distance from shops and trains/trams and supermarkets a fair walk uphill to return to hotel. Reception staff not very friendly. Some tables in breakfast room have metal bar at shin level on 2 sides of table, this needs to be addressed by hotel. Power points are located under desks, inconvenient to reach. Tea/coffee making facilities are in a cupboard on a narrow sliding shelf below knee height adjacent to bed. No power point in either bathroom. No free Wifi available in rooms, free access only available in Breezes lounge which is a smokers area, or reception.

Really only the location. 1 hour free internet in lobby. Free tea/coffee. Small standard rooms. No free internet in room. Seem they were focused on charging for anything they could. High room cost because it was Chinese New Year, but not fully booked. No in location restaurant.

One of the managers at Cosmopolitian is so helpful. He automatically helped to carry my lugguage from Cosmopolitian to Cosmo. He did not even ask or look for any return. As the hotel is located outskirt, the shuttle service is a delight. The wireless could not be connected.

The hotel was very nice, Just thought the room looked a little tired and wanted decorating. I you are going use yellows and pale grey,s they are bound to get grubby. The breakfast was superb. I chose the hotel because it had a shuttle service. The position. Overal good for a 2=3 day stopover

Free shuttle bus to hk station during traffic hour really helped my family make it on time for our flights. Distance to Causeway Bay mtr, while if may be a manageable walk in the winter,, summer months may be less enjoyable. Hotel does provide shuttle but we rather not have our schedules tied to it. The walk is difficult for families with children or baby strollers.

I do appreciate the staff courtesy and very helpfull and ready to assist the customer. The room was very clean n comfortable. Room service was carry out daily without failed, which is a plus. It will be the location. Is just too far from the MRT stations. It takes about 20-30 mins walk to the nearest MRT station. Amenities and restaurant is no where near as well.

- Good location - Free internet in Lobby - the concierge didn't speak English very well, so we had to re-ask a few things which got on his nerves. So when we left, he cursed us, which isn't proper client service.

“The hotel has a perfect location. Majority of the rooms are facing the harbor and has a great view of Tsim Shat Siu. Metro statin is in 5 min walking distance. Tram is also in 5 min walking distance. The hotel is located within 5 min walking to Star Ferry as well as the bus station. 18 and 18P buses stop right in front of the hotel which makes it easy to travel within the city. The room is in good size for two people. Beds are very comfortable. Complimentary tea/coffee set-up, a kettle and one bottle of complimentary water is available and replcaed every day. Breakfast is satisfactory for a western traveller. They also have varieties of Chinese cuisine. Godo value for money if you make your booking in advance.” Sen, Istanbul |
