Location is good, if you look for entertainment and fun. Also location in quite ok distance from MTR is definitely positive. Room I got was awful. With their normal price level you could imagine getting something nice or at least ok. Room was definitely worth one or max two stars. It might have effected that before seeing the originally booked room I changed it from non-smoker to smoker's room. If all the rooms are same level, it's not very good. Sorry, but I will not return to this hotel for any reason. Oh yes, they charged few minibar drinks without them being drinked, complaintment didn't help. "Sir, you have been drinking them according to our system". Yep.... |

The location. Near restaurants and pubs. The paintwork at ceiling and the aircon vent need to be repainted. made the room looks old. TV can be bigger. |

Save for one front desk staff who showed good level of courtesy when I checked out, I didn't like anything about my stay at Empire. Several things : surrounded by "red light district" (honky-tonk bars which were very noisy at night, you can hear noises even when inside your room!); front desk staff very curt, unhelpful and not customer service-oriented; very small room and bathroom; bathroom fittings old and rusty; English cable channels very limited. Hotel made us wait until past 4pm until we got checked in -- despite stating their 2pm check-in time, because "room wasn't ready" (aren't they supposed to ensure that rooms are ready for guests at the appointed time?). Further, they did not follow instructions indicated when I booked online! |

Appreciated the upgrade to the king size bed as 3 of us. Myself and 5 & 7 year old. Staff helpful and very friendly. Also appreciated the security on the lifts so only guests get to the room levels. The bathrooms could be renovated little tired and run down. |

Overall though room small, housekeeping was good and managed to get a king bed as was sharing with a toddler. Concierge was helpful too. 1. The hotel receptionists were not as friendly. 2. They asked to collect in addition to the total room rate, HK500 incidental charges per night, as a deposit. That comes up to HK3,800 cash deposit or credit card authorization. The amount for the incidental charges are too atrocious. Hopes they can lower to about HK100/night. 3. There were 2 broken tiles that came loose next to the toilet bowl where the bathtub was. I accidentally knocked into it and the tiles fell down and hit my feet. These tiles should be fixed back before letting the guests checkin. |

All the staff were extremely helpful, upon check in, the staff were extremely patient and the concierge staff also went out of their way to help. The internet services to borrow laptops were only during business hours in the lobby. For a 4* hotel, they should provide a business/computer room for users. At first, the room had a horrible musty smell, but this went by the 2nd night. |
