The location of the hostels itself is a disaster. The worst place where you can possibly stay in Hong Kong. It's like a Chinese fake market building having elevators that take you to some small apartments on the top floors. The address says it's on number 8 but when you arrive at number 8 you see a private ring bell with a note that there is no hostel on this floor. A very good experience if you arrived at 2 in the morning from your flight.
Perfect location with walkingdistance to most attractions. Cheap, clean room, towels changed every day and we had our bed made every day too. Nice and helpful staff. Very good free wi-fi.
Chungking Mansion's entrance is horrible- filthy and nasty with many indian people trying to sell you copymade handbags, watches, suits, dresses and also rooms in one of the many other hostels situated in this building (they are many)! Very tiny dubbleroom, lousy shower, thin walls, couldn't open the window+awful view. Only ONE small elevator, constantly occupied-i.e long waiting...
Near to MRT. Drinking water provided.
Poor water pressure. Dirty dust blowed from air-cond. My room was next to reception, very noisy!
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Need to wait long for second flush of water in toilet.
nice reception deluxe rooms free upgrade for better room (overbooked)
small space, elevator service
The location was close to everything.
Tiny room. Tiny bathroom with a shower that gets everything wet. Walking through the porn, dildos and dripping water to get to the very slow elevator. Several Indian men trying to sell us "copy"stuff constantly.
Price, Location, checking out.
Room is small, guy at front desk in early am is useless. Sex toys in lobby.
Location of hotel was ok. Close to subway.
There was one staff person on duty and he was very rude and unpleasant. Didn't say much at all or greet us. Acted like we were bothering him. Hotel room is extremely small. Barely able to fit 2 people with luggage. Private bathroom was extremely small and it is a combo bathroom and shower, so it gets everything wet. No AC really but a huge fan to keep us cool. Hotel bed was hard. Elevator was agonizingly slow.
European Hostel was in centre of everything from Shopping to Museums to food and beer bars.
Front Entry of the big building and the silly men selling fake watches and anything else that's dodgy.
Friendly staff , very secure and handy location
A bit small but I'm not complaining it was in my budget
Good location:shops and markets are close as well as underground and sightseeings. despite rooms are small, but quite nice and well equipped(locker, fan, air conditioning and hairdryer).Friendly personnel.
Last day of our staying room wasn't cleaned. Bed sheets are old, would be nice to replace it :-)small rooms, long line for elevator, old building, overpriced.
The location was great. It is right in the heart of Kowloon, near all transportation. Housekeeping was awesome. Room was clean.
One bed was too short for my average height wife. Almost every night our room filled with cigarette smoke from someone smoking in their "non-smoking" room next to us, but management wouldn't do anything about it. VERY SLOW ELEVATORS.
The hostel location is very good! Located in Chungking Mansion near to Tsim Sha Tsui Metro station you can go everywhere very easy. The room was clean and i had new towels every day!!! The wifi connection was very very fast!!
The only problem with European hostel was that you had to wait at least 5 to 10 minutes for the elevator. Especially the morning hours.
All the staff are good and very friendly the room are complete from towel, slippers, shampoo to soap all for free and the best thing is unli coffee.
Nothing all is good.
the accesibility of the hostel to the mtr and cleanliness of the room is great.. the price is reasonable for a small room with an aircon and strong wifi connection, daily changes of the bedsheet and towel...all in all everything is great..
when we try to leave our cups unwashed inside the room, the staff didn't cleaned it
It was little bit hard to find this place as I wasn't aware that this place is located within one whole building where a lot of sales people trying to ask you to sleep at their places. This mansion was full of different hostels, however Europeon hostel was one I can tell that was clean and nice staffs. Wifi excellent, location, the best.
Yeah just try not to bump into those sales person in the 1st floor.
staff was good, helpfull, and there was a staff that can speaks in Indonesia language. room was clean and good enough if you just want to sleep at night...
the lift for accessing the hostel is sooo old and very crowded. sometimes we go up to the hostel with people who bring a super big container in the lift. the building was an old one...
The space very very small hardly to move around. The lift is public lift, all peoples and carrying oversize things/goods are using the same lift for the hostel guest.so when it hectic u must queue very long. Very tiring..especially when you stay here with family with young child
we asked for a nice room and were offered a very nice big room
some days they forgot to bring us towels and I had to call the receptionist
very accomodating.. perfect location.. accesible to all...
it had all the essentials
The only good thing is the location: the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station is right at the footstep.
When we arrived, according to the instruction to took the lift to the 16th floor of Chungkin Mansion (after queuing for a long time!). We arrived at the reception desk and completed the paperwork. Surprisingly, they then took us down the building, went to another building on the opposite side of the road, and took the lift again to another floor. There was no signboard whatsoever about this, but the staff there gave us the entrance card with the name of "Legend guesthouse" on it. Is this a kind of selling the guests to another downgraded facility? They even did not clean our room on the 2nd day.
This place is located at the Chung King Mansion old building in Tsim Tsa Tsui, a crowded place which appears to be the housing for many indians making their business in HK. Interesting place to visit if you have curiosity to see this self sustained economical city center;
Poorly clean, still hairs around; Very noise AC system, still using old window fans (decide if you want to sleep with the noise or with the heat, probable you will decide to turn it off or leave in the fan only mode); The elevator! Long waits along with the crowded people that use the building;
