The overall service of the hotel is good, but the staff still lack some skills. When we checked in, the lady at the reception desk didn't smile at all and was even indeed making a grumpy face. Furthermore, it suddenly started leaking from the ceiling of our room one day. Since this happened overnight, the water got soaked in the carpet floor and left a very bad smell behind. When we left early in the morning, I informed the reception staff about it, but when we came back in the evening, nothing happened so far. The smell even got so bad that one was able to smell it from outside the from as well. So when I called the reception again, they just sent some staff over who was trying to 'wash' away the smell from the carpet with some air freshener. When I told him that this would obviously not help, he just came back with another electric air freshener appliance and asked me to try using it for a few hours at least and see if the smell goes away. This of course did not help since the smelly water got all soaked into the carpet. After calling the staff a third time, they just sent the same guy again with the same instruction to apply some air freshener in our room. Since he already knew that this is not the solution, he finally talked to the manager and we managed to move into another room. I know it's always a lot of work for the hotel to change rooms and that there are indeed a lot of guests in this world who complain about every small thing and request a room change that is not always justified, but if the smell is already so bad that you can even smell it from outside the room, they should have agreed to change the room right at the very beginning instead of making the customer going through all the trouble.
Rooms are quite big compared to the usual average size of hotel rooms in HK. Next to the hotel are two shopping malls with a supermarket, food court, etc. There's also a park right next to the hotel and the tram station is also just opposite of the hotel (but since the hotel is located quite far away from the city center, it does take quite a long time to get there)
