The Imperial Hotel

i liked the cheap accommodation and the relatively comfortable rooms

i left a mouthguard after checking out of room 1001 on 8 June, however I rang the hotel to retrieve it but it had obviously been thrown out by the cleaning lady. It was a very expensive item and I think it should have been handed to lost property by the cleaners.

The bed linen is replaced everyday with clean duvets and pillows.The room was spotless as was the hotel in general. It is ideally placed to see the Hong Kong shoreline or for access to the underground system. It is also close to the Harbour City shopping mall which is nice to go round when it rains but horrendously expensive for mere mortals like me.

The bed was a bit on the hard side and I did have back ache by the end of the week. Outside the hotel you are constantly pestered by Indians selling 'copy watch, copy watch' or suits. But this even happens outside the Peninsula (Hong Kong's best hotel) so the Imperial isn't to blame.

We stayed overnight after attending a friend's wedding banquet. The hotel was as close as you could wish for to the venue, so was superb in that respect.

The room smelled like it was recently visited by rentokill... very strong insecticide smell. It also seemed to not have been vaccuumed for a few stays. The bed was rock hard and I did not sleep well at all.

The room was recently refurbished, hence comfortable beds and fab new bathroom. Fantastic location

The location is the key factor, as it is convenient to one of the busiest shopping areas in HK and is very well situated for the public transport. The hotel is older, but well maintained and still has an appealing look.

There were several things that I did not like about the hotel, however these would not prevent me from staying here again. But the stay would be much more enjoyable if some improvements were made: The Hotel Services directory lists "Business Center" as a service. When asked where it was, I was told they didn't have one.

no sewing kit unlike in other hotel

Only good for location, room too old, small and cleanliness is poor.

Interior of the hotel room is bad, too old, small and cleanliness is poor., I got the feeling of time traveling back and staying in a hotel room in the 1970s....with family of 2 young children we don't have much space left in the room given.

the location is great, very near to the shoping center and easily to walk around and easily to go to many places.

the air condition in the room has lound noise and can't be controled easily. so the weather is cold make me cant sleep well. the room has some smell. the flash in the toilet couldn't work well.
