The place is well-situated. We would still recommend it if your intention is to have something decent and clean to stay for the night. The glass-enclosed bathroom was clean with clean towels. Clean beddings. I would still come back, if given the chance. No respectable front desk. They "scrimped" too much on this aspect. They had only 7 or 8 tv stations and I only found one channel in English. The use of the internet would cost you hkd80.00 Per use (maximum of one hour). I believe they should allow guests to have free use even for only fifteen minutes to check on their email messages.

Room is clean, and nice. But the air conditioner is difficult to controll.. too hot or too cold haha I felt so unfamiliar when i stayed there. Staff not willing to help you and talk to you. When i asked for something, they only reply with "No" and "Yes". THey are not willing to provide you more information. And the staff never smile and never greet! For inroom facilities i give 3 star, BUT staff's evaluation and services, i give 1 star

Jj Hotel is like discovering a secret place. Lots of people already know about jj Hotel of course, but the secret is the happiness of actually staying there. Jj Hotel is a charming little gem with a very big shine.

+ Comfortable room with efficient layout + Good location close to metro. - Renovations were underway on non-hotel floors and these started earlier than promised by the hotel staff (actual start 9am!) - Cleaning staff was too eager to start cleaning the room and knocked on the door a couple of times while we were in the room getting ready to leave for the day

Hotel is located in the business district on Hong Kong Island. It is very close to tram and mtr. From airport the airport express is $100hk$ to Hong Kong station. The taxi to jj is $31hk$. There are all kinds of eating establishments in Wanchai. Laundromat is located only a few feet from jj. Also, there is a supermarket next to jj. I felt very safe in this area of Hong Kong. I would stay at jj Hotel again. The staff was very helpful. Stayed at jj 4-16-2011 to 4-21-2011. Wireless did not work from from room 1209. It did work very well from the lobby area of the 12th floor.

The location and the friendly staff. The hotel is near halal food joints and a mosque as we are Muslim and it is surrounded by shops. The Wan Chai mtr is about 5 minutes walk. The hotel room is quite big for a family of three and very clean. It was cleaned and fresh towels were given daily. When we asked for an exta pillow, they gave us two. The doorman is very friendly and courteous. The toilet has glass wall and you need to pull down the shade when using it. It is a bit inconvenient for a family but very interesting for couples.

The hotel room was an excellent size, very large by local standards.Price wise for that standard it was a bargain. If like us,you are of senior vintage, there were three lifts outside the door of our room so being on the 12th floor was no disadvantage. The hotel has forty rooms. Each has a unique glass shower and toilet enclosure which has pull down blinds but takes a day to get used to!! With someone always manning the hotel entrance one felt very secure. Even though it is in a busy area we did not hear any traffic noise in our room. No meals are served in the hotel but there is an eatery next door and numerous others nearby. Location is very convenient with the mtr station only a five minute walk away and trams and buses nearby. We would certainly book this hotel again and tell others. When we booked through Booking.com the documentation showed the per night rate and then at the bottom stated total price to be paid for our stay. Although we showed the management this documentation prior to paying we were told that it was incorrect and that we would be charged a further 10% service fee.

The staff was super nice and did anything we asked! Price was very reasonable for room. Location was excellent. Construction the first few nights directly below room. Construction during the daytime the whole stay. This means jack hammers and banging on walls and floors where we can feel the vibration and was very loud. The toilet flushes well, but it lets sewage back in so it stinks very badly. The pull down shade for bathroom privacy was all moldy.

With the charges of RM250 for this hotel room is worth to stay. The room are big, clean and modern design. There are 2 things which is not good. 1st things is the location are quite far from the MTR you need 10 to 15 minutes walk to the MTR. 2nd when night time there are not much of hawker shop around.

Nice hotel. It's actually a business accommodation, but we booked in for our holiday. The location is excellent, staffs are attentive and polite. We stayed there for 5 days and it's definitely a pleasant stay there. Will return to stay there on my next trip to hk.

The price compared to other similar hotels. The staffs were very rigid. We requested to check out 20 minutes later but were not allowed at all. At 12 sharp, they started to knock at our door to make sure we check out!! The location of the hotel is not easy to find & not near the mtr! You will have problems if you are coming from the airport unless you take a taxi (be prepared to pay for the traffic jam). If going back to airport, take bus a11 (about 15 minutes walk) from hotel but no schedule for the bus service - we waited 25 minutes.

The hotel's lcoation is just excellent if you know how to use the bus system. It is a fair way walk from the MTR; however, there are a lot of good eats around. Though it is a small hotel, at least taxi can stop just in front of the building. Try to avoid the rush hour if you want to take a taxi. Of course, you cannot compare it to those hotel that locates in Causeway Bay, but you can get some good deals around for shopping. The beds are comfortable for me and the room is clean and tidy. Room size is of Hong Kong standard with good A/C and good sound proof. The only hesitation about this hotel is : the lobby does not locate on the first floor, it is on the 9th floor of the building and they do not have a trolley for the luggage. You have to carry your own luggage to climb a few steps, walk to the elevator and get to the hotel lobby.

Its the location because its near to mtr. The rate is competitive compared to other hotels. It doesnt look like a hotel. No brief orientation from the staff. No bellboy to help you carry your luggage during check in/out. My room was next to the elevator and you can hear when it open or someone is walking at the hall way.

The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room cleared out well. Free water (2 bottles a day) and coupons for free cheesecake or a beer. The hotel is very conveniently located (5 min. walk to the subway). In the same building as the hotel has a good restaurant ("Megan's kitchen"). In the basement is a supermarket. Behind the hotel is a park. Good value for money. Soundproofing is not very good. It was a bit noisy, but we do not worry too much. The walls of the bathroom clear, but the curtains can be closed.

I did not like the satff (they have broken a toothbrush holder and made us pay for it). They just charged money from the deposit without any procedures which is absolutely unacceptable. Also there is free wifi which never works.

Very good value for money. Room, bathroom, and bed was clean and quite big compared to other Hong Kong hotels at the same price level. Housekeeping did a great job (A+) with our room. Location is good -- around a 5 minute walk from Wan Chai MTR and Wan Chai Computer Centre, 10 minutes walk from Time Square, 3 minutes walk from A11 bus stop coming from the airport, and 7 minutes from A11 bus stop going to the airport. A Wellcome grocery store is on the basement of the same building. Contrary to other reviews, we were able to adjust thermostat of the air conditioning in our room. Wifi signal was satisfactory, had 2 wifi access points that had decent signal in our room. Free daily bottled water and also a 5-gallon water dispenser in the lounge. We were put in a smoking room/floor (even though we booked for a non-smoking one) and smoke from outside open smoking lounge regularly seeped in our room. So my allergy acted up almost the whole of our stay. Front desk said all non-smoking rooms were fully booked when we checked in. Can hear the noise from bathroom of adjacent rooms. Lack of TV channels. Bathroom may not be good for privacy, but we were a family so it was alright. Over all, had a pleasant stay. Will most likely book again, but will definitely insist next time to be placed in a non-smoking floor.
